    Before anyone else asks, the IPF keeps their records sepearte from every other fed, for a number of reasons.

      Why

    • @zaone6395
      @zaone6395 4 месяца назад +41

      Strict drug testing, clean form, raw lifts and not using straps

    • @JoshuaOdionson
      @JoshuaOdionson 4 месяца назад +16

      @@Josh-xc7qr A few reasons. Stricter (or just exisitng drug testing). Many, many other federations don't test or don't have nearly as high of a standard for drug testing, the IPF is under WADA. They also, overall, have a different standards or definitons of what 'raw' is, most other federations will allow knee wraps and much longer wrist wraps, if not elbow sleeves, in competition while the IPF only allows knee sleeves and wrist wraps under a certain length, and it all has to be on the approved equipment list, which pretty much only a few companies meet those requirements. Then, one that doesn't really matter 'as much' in the SHW weight class, is the IPF has different weight classes than most every other powerlifting federation. They used to match up. but the IPF restructured their weight classes in 2010, I think. Or, not to mention, the equipment used by athletes that's not on their body, IE bars, benches, racks, etc, have to be from an approved list of companies, and have to meet certain specifications. No deadlift specialty bars, no monolifts (gotta walk out the squats) ano wider benches, etc.
      Basically, otherwise, it'd be more like comparing apples to oranges.

      @@zaone6395 I don't know of really any federations that allow straps. Wrist wraps? Yes. Straps, like in strongman? I mean, I think I remember the SPF doing or trying that a few years ago, and maybe the WRPF, but they purposely keep those records seperate and even make that clear. I think they even classify them as a sort of exehibition lift, similar to when the SPF tried a bench meet using the Slingshot.

      If you train reverse grip, it's nearly as strong as straps. I can reverse grip WAY more than I can deadlift, the only reason I use straps is keep a traditional grip as I'm too used to using my right hand reversed, left feels uncomfortable, and I want similar strain across both arms and shoulders (right shoulder has old injuries).

    • @powerlifting-world
      @powerlifting-world  3 месяца назад +13

      Yes, this is the heaviest in the IPF
      The differences are the ipf is drug tested, it doesn't allow straps, there is a stiff bar and it is done raw in this case, without the use of a deadlift suit.
      Hope this helps 🙌

      Using a deadlift bar, not a stiff bar like used in the IPF. In response to the above comment, this man is most likely on some sort of PEDs too. You don’t get natural men pulling 411kg on a stiff bar naturally.
