I’ve been listening anything and everything by Ariel McCleary and also to a lot of older music like Neil Young, Creedence Clear Water Revival, John Denver, Simon & Garfunkel, and many many more
And of course Gospel of any genre. Kinda a given with my work.
My music tastes change weekly. Lately I have been listening to a lot of classic jazz like Modern Jazz Quartet. Milt Jackson was one of the best vibraphone players, if not the best, ever. Listen to the song Django and you'll see what I mean.
A couple of weeks ago I was into bluegrass, a couple of weeks before that, classical. A couple of weeks before that, classic metal, etc. It constantly changes. I don't have a favorite type or artist. It's what is my favorite this week :)

I'm a huge fan of extremity in music but I dig Peach Club by Emarosa. Ready to Love by them is my introduction to the album. Sounds very neo soul 80's pop in a good way. You can actually hear the instruments and the lyrics are relatable.

You had two camps of music in the 80's: New Wave, like the song you said is typical 80's and hair bands like Mötley Crüe, Cinderella, Ratt.
Honestly, I didn't care for either type at the time and listened to more classic rock. Even today I can only take hair bands or new wave in small doses.
I'll definitely give them a listen; I especially liked 1 and 4.
