If you think that petty, in Malaysia.. there is the whole Allah written on socks issues. That cause mostly the whole country in a frenzy and there were 3 self-made bom thrown at the chain establishment.

I've been watching Gaber's videos for years. So many Muslims complain that people who "don't know Arabic" criticize Islam - which is ridiculous of course, as about 80% of Muslims, so some 1.5 billion people, don't know Arabic - so Gaber is a great source to refer them to and of course he has the same valid points that any other rational person makes.

There have been for years parts of Egypt and Cairo where you cannot go because of the Muslim brotherhood, Egypt tries to appear in control to protect the tourist industry. They don't even respect their own. Note that a country that is friendly towards Islam is never Islamic. It's always Muslim. Because there are factions still at war with each other. Christians had that phase too but thankfully even that religion got over it after the discovery of the new world (the Americas, which was triggered by the fall of Konstantinople)

I've been following Gaber for years in fact his early videos were eye opening to me I love him so much his story is heartbreaking 💔 they robbed him from his freedom 💔 for what for not believing in a sky daddy?! A prison sentence is basically a death sentence the moment he will step on prison he will be 💀 I really hope he will get free soon I can't stand seeing him suffer like this yet the shikhs who yell and incite actual violence against others and even Muslims they're free!! What a joke shame on the Egypt government

10 years of his life was wasted for a salafist prosecutor in cahoots with a dirty judge giving him same sentences again and again and what's crazy, here in Egypt the reaction of every cleric is for them to add more years because they can't behead him and this is what the lawyer said exactly. His efforts is not going for loss and we are going to help him but he has developed bipolar and fear of everyone trying to betray him so you have to excuse him on that and he will come with the biggest atheist bang in history once he leaves Egypt. All I will say is wait...

You didn't mention that he criticized christianity too, and the egyptian law has a penality for ( Contempt for religionS ) so his sentence was for both criticizing islam and Christianity
This is still mostly for his apostasy from Islam and open criticism of it, because people who just criticize Islam and Christianity in Egypt don’t receive this treatment and punishment.

Every country has rules against blasphemy on paper but no country today practically persecute people based on these laws. Egypt actually did it!

Sherif is suffering under house arrest for 6 years. Forbidden from travel and his passport was taking away from him by the government. Now, he's sentenced to 9 years prison time where he will get killed inside.
Sherrif is in sever distress and losing hope.

Any ideology which cannot withstand criticism is VERY weak and has to rule by force. Notice that Muslim clerics, like the well-known imam Yusuf Qaradawi, said that Islam would never survive without enforcing apostasy laws.

This is a massive problem within the umma of today suppressing freedom of speech expression governments are the umma in one shape or another as they are Muslims,. hope his safety and security will remain secure love from uk Yorkshire.
