Definitely seek a professional diagnosis, I spent roughly 2yrs thinking it would get better or go away all together; when I finally got smart and saw a specialist; I was diagnosed with arthritis, biceps tendinitis, and lot's of scarring from tears I never knew I had..after a well placed injection and a lot of rehabilitation, my day to day life has improved significantly..
Perfect timing. Therex Exam on UE tomorrow, this does a fantastic job of tying together different shoulder pathologies and recommended treatment approaches. Thank you!
Yes but.....what about Cervical Radiculopathy? I went to doc with shoulder pain at night and was diagnosed with partially torn subscap, labrum amd superspinatus (age degeneration most likely). After doing PT like a crazy person for over a year and having no real mechanical deficit .. or pain brought on by movement...my PT said "it could be your neck". After being online A LOT it appears that shoulder pain is the super common as a symtpom of cervical radiculopathy. I'm chasing that bugbear now. Going to get the front-side injections.
For me overhead pressing hurts my right shoulder. So just reaching across my chest. I can chest press pec deck shoulder side raises. I started doing external rotations for the shoulder and it seems to help as my right shoulder was significantly weaker
I got frozen shoulder 4 and 2 years ago and my mobility just wont come back. Internal rotation is almost non existant and is painful, I've got some external rotation back but it's also painful at end range. I've no idea what exercises to do, the standard rotator cuff exercises which works the internal and external rotation is not working or giving me any more mobility after 1-2 years.
As a physical therapist, I appreciate you guys so much. Thank you for delivering the gold standard when it comes to rehab content🥇
Great data. Makes me aware that these common symptoms are more likely to not be permanant and can heal without surgeries. Thanks!

So i thought that "shoulder impingement" doesn't exist in nowadays, can we just called it subacromial pain?
