The way I see it. Mors knows empathy, he just has trouble using it. It’s likely cause he has trouble really caring for the ghost in the village. If it was toward Korina I’m sure he’ll have no problem coming up with something empathetic, but when it’s something or someone he doesn’t care for it’s harder for him to show that side of himself. Honestly, I truly wonder if what the past spirits have done when he was but a child is contributing to current his feelings towards the spirits as a whole
I wouldn’t be surprised if some of the scars from that spirit incident were still there. Also Mors has pretty much taught himself to guard his heart to a point where it’s unsure if he even has one after the reactions of others towards his actions left him hurt and scarred for life pretty much. He allows himself to thaw around Korina basically but with others he walls himself off because he’s unsure of their response.
Thanatos saying Mors is getting better is likely because he finally made Mors believe that Thanatos loved him and didn't hate him like Mors believed through most of his time in prison (and likely before too). And Thanatos trying to learn how to be, act and respond better in other situations is likely a result of him seeing the pain Mors had revealed to him during his imprisonment. It seems like both are on the right track in getting better and mending their bond. Though it will still take time.
I’m not surprised Mors stole the flowers considering he doesn’t fully understand the concept of money. But you’re really telling me he can’t grasp the concept of a *”Flower Shop”*
13:49 ABOUT DANG TIME YOU TRY TO LEARN THAT YOURSELF!🤦🏻♀ No but still. Proud of Thanatos for trying to take the first step towards empathetic ways though. Yes he's more empathetic than Mors but he has his moments where he can be quite insensitive too.
Me seeing description - I mean to be fair he still showed low empathy after he was meant to leave that prison regardless of when he was released. He just wasn't as aggressive as he was before his incarceration. So not sure how much that would've changed here.
I think the problem is mors has never really had to be very empathetic. It also doesn’t help that he has never really lost anyone close before, the only ones I can think of is Charlie and Betty, and even then he cared, but not enough. I’m super excited for the next ep!
Honestly I feel like he cares too much at times which is why he pulls that bad boy charade to cope with it. I mean why else would he commit the “worst crime of the gods” just to defend Korina or go Keres on those who try to harm his family. He does care but like he said, every time he tries to help and protect his loved ones he gets sh*t for it. Hence why he guards himself to a point where he seems to not care about certain things at all.
Mors actually trying to find empathy for the spirits is very nice and yes I agree with Korina he should try to find empathy in something else and build it up in himself before taking on helping the spirits settle in.
Agreed. I mean Mors is just starting to come out of his shell towards his father. So let him build up empathy in himself first before helping other spirits🙏🏻
@@Songal18 Also ABOUT DANG TIME Thanatos tried to work on his own response to certain situations where Mors is involved!🤦🏻♀️ I feel like the prison time was needed for both him and Mors to see things clearly. Thanatos taking Mors feelings seriously instead of putting him down and scolding him for it and Mors showing his true feelings instead of masking his pain behind anger.
13:56 Thanatos: I've seen Mors at his worst. I feel like him saying that is only half true. Yes, he's seen Mors at his worst but that was while he was IN PRISON not in PURGATORY. The difference between these places is that Thanatos basically denied his part in Mors becoming the way he is while in Purgatory and only saw Mors' real pain in prison, which is likely why Mors didn't feel the need to leave that place before it was time. When Mors was still a child he was more or less able to navigate between Keres and Thanatos on his own and his first outburst didn't really do much. What did though was his second outburst which was a necessity and Thanatos reaction to and treatment of Mors afterwards was pretty much the catalyst to the drastic change in Mors' personality. Mors was already starting to decline mentally at the age of 10-12 but Thanatos pretty much brushed it off as a child being insolent basically and handled the aftermath poorly when Mors semi-true form emerged. Inadvertently Thanatos had forced Mors to cling to his mother's darkness for all these years and Mors never saw a reason to let go and it led to him fighting a constant battle between mind and blood. Thanatos sacrifice allowed Mors to see that his father indeed loved him and that he misjudged him for a long while. But he still seems to be guarded towards Thanatos and especially towards the spirits since he doesn't really care for them.
2:30 That begs the question HOW MUCH romance was actually in those cowboy shows. Unless it's actually romantic films I don't know whether "dating" is fleshed out much.🤷🏻♀
