In Psychology, positive reinforcement is adding something desirable and negative reinforcement is taking something perceived as undesirable away. "Positive" and "negaitive" don't automatically have the same connotation as "good" or "bad".❤
If you are adding something unwanted, this can be seen as positive punishment. If you are taking away something wanted it can be seen as negative punishment. Positive and negative reinforcement and punishment are all about the addition or subtraction of things that are desirable or undesirable to a person or animal.

I appreciate when you deliver on the actual values you abide by in your advice, but the constant rather than occasional reactivity of “fuck” and giving people 🫨🥶 looks is also not clear direct communication channeled from experienced leadership.
You can use the same direct intensity to say, “I see the problem here; your leadership is lacking this this and this and your approach doing this this and this is driving people to leave, or at least want to.”
& directly asking the team what they don’t like, and giving that direct feedback to the individual who has been given the leadership position before jumping to another bug eyed look 🙄 & the threat, you’re fixing to get fired.
I point this out, because it contradicts your communication versus punishment and how a look can be punishment conversation you shared with us.
