Excellent video Gillian! I have these products and I'm enjoying the experimentation. Funnily enough your final flower print with the stained extender was my favourite and really sold me on that technique!! TFS!!
Oh wow! That last print is awesome! I’ve done some of these things on a blank screen, but never on a photo screen. Such a great idea! And using watercolors, too, is something new for me. I guess I’ll be busy in my studio this winter with all of these great ideas! Thanks for putting up these interesting videos. I loved the carborundum in one of the other videos, too.
this video was soooo dope!! thank you so much for the great insight & the inspiration, i'm so excited to go to the studio now and try some of these things out
Yes, Gillian's demonstration was originally a part of our Instagram Live Series for our Create in Place campaign. It is being rebroadcasted here for those unable to attend the original demonstration or who do not have access to Instagram.
I have to dispute your comment that it will not work on textiles. If a textile medium like GAC 900 or Martha Stewart's 'Fabric Medium' is used instead of the Transparent Base it will make the water soluble crayons permanent on fabric.
Great insight! Each of our artist's can only speak to their own experiences in the studio, so Gillian can only comment specific to the products she's used and projects she's created. Good to know!
Such simple yet wonderful techniques. Thank you.

so happy you enjoyed this and that you'll be trying it out in your studio!
pro trick : you can watch movies on Flixzone. Me and my gf have been using them for watching all kinds of movies during the lockdown.
@Kane Jad yup, I've been watching on Flixzone for since november myself :)

Isn't Gillian just the best?! Thanks so much for tuning in and happy printing to you!
Hi there. Nice video! Just wondering if you wet the paper for the print on your first rubbing print? Thanks 🙏
Nope!
What are the brand/name of crayons you are using?
Does the water soluble crayon wash out of the screen with soap and water?
Yes. It should easily be removed with a soft bristle brush and some warm water combined with soap.
Tiny screen, are you filming on a phone. I am seeing it on an iPad.thanks.

Do you realise that all of the lettering on the video is in reverse?
For mono-print, everything printed is reversed. So to get the text right, we need to reverse the design.
