Today we search the Mojave desert near the I-40 rest area in Essex Califonia where Cara was supposedly last seen. Please read the video description for more information. I hope we can make a difference.
    Let's bring Cara home.

Chigg if she was dropped off at the truck stop it would seem logical that she would have probably hitched hike a ride with a trucker going east if she was from Oklahoma. A trucker who drives that route on I-40 would be familiar with the truck stops going east. I think you have to go east of the truck stop to find her and it would seem logical that she would be on the south side of Interstate 40 in a worst case scenario in a remote part in between truck stops. Study a map from her last known location going east and look at the truck stops and the terrain and roads on the south side of Interstate 40. If she's out there I think she's at least 20 mi to 50 Mi east of the truck stop in Essex california.

Pretty sure the bit of fence that was turned out was to encourage the tortoises to turn around. The fence was transiting from chain link to barbed wire. The tortoises hit the fence line and they cant get through the chain link so they follow fence line until it ends or turns into barbed wire, which they can pass under, and they head up to the freeway. To keep them from getting smashed on the freeway they put up chain link in areas with lots of tortoises. When they hit that turned out bit of fence and follow it around they are heading back the way they came, hopefully angled away from the fence line back out into the desert away from the freeway.

I remember them putting up that turtle fence. I've also been traveling that hwy since it was first done or 4 lanes. The last 13 years was every day. And in all that time I've never seen a turtle smash on the hwy.

You have to put your mind in that of a murderous boyfriend, if she was murdered, and what would do ? I don't think he would be that obvious and bury her close to the highway. Mine shafts are too well known. Probably well into the desert, away from anything.

It’s good to see channels helping search. I hope you carry a satellite phone with you when you are in areas that cell phones don’t work. Just as a safety precaution. I used to rent one when I traveled to a mountain area that had no cell service. Just to be safe. You probably can buy them now cheaper than it was for me to rent one LOL.

Desert freeways are often lined with pieces of recapped big rig tires. They seem to come apart easily maybe because of heat. I wonder if Caltrans piles up the pieces and burn them rather than place them in a dump truck and hauled off.

But I saw that one rock stuck in the ground vertically at the one end of it and thought, man that looks like a headstone. I so wished you would have moved the plywood fully and done a bit of digging. A person could have moved enough of those rocks , put her body in the hole and covered it back up and in a month no one would be able to tell.

Thank you Chigg.for your effort with this, it must have been exhausting. I'm from California myself and I've never understood why people view our deserts like some sort of trash dumping ground?! Would these people do the same thing in a lush Redwood forest? Just because it has a different type of topography doesn't mean it is any less of a wilderness with a very delicate ecosystem and unique wildlife and plants that exist no where else in the world. So disrespectful and lazy of people just to toss things out their window, really disgusting and turning our once beautiful deserts into garbage dumps!

No deer out in the Mojave desert. The only large foraging animal in that area would be a wild Burro (donkey) but they would more likely be in the hills and canyons where they'd be closer to vegetation or a water source and away from people.
