As a firmer player at Nebraska, I am appalled at this poor sportsmanship. From a humble fan of this game I want to apologize for the way my Alma mater players acted. On our stadium these words are written……..”In the Deed the Glory”.
Nebraska was angry because two hours before the game Iowa sent the state patrol to disrupt the Fellowship of Christian Athletes prayer. Because apparently Iowa found a tradition where both sides are invited to pray for player safety is offensive to Iowa. And then Iowa got its panties in a bunch and complained in post game press conferences. Lol.
@@WashedUpWalkons Why did Iowa law enforcement disrupt the prayer? So what reason? Nebraska shook hands with every other team on the roster including hated Colorado. Just unprovoked?

@@WashedUpWalkonsso it wasn't a fairy tale. I just watched your vid and you confirm this was the reason. I don’t know if Matt Ruhl knew ahead of time, but the fact his players thought it was okay not to shake hands speaks to the sort of culture which exists. Just a few things to add since this is the last game of the regular season. I don't know if you noticed but Raiola had the ball come out of his hands three times counting the last one. He is just lucky that they didn't call them all fumbled and lucky to get two of f them back. Another point, is that anyone criticizing Kirk should realize that we would have a very dismal record for the last three years without our field general, Capt Kirk. His play call decisions got us through those wins. Field position and defence and special teams. Anyone that thinks we should fire Kirk doesn't know what they are asking for. Just about everyone in D had a great night, and I do mean everyone made at least one great play. I feel like we let KJ down in a few games this year. He should have had a hundred yards in every game, but once again our QB situation. By the way I don't blame Cade for everything. I see other QBs make a bad throw now and then and nobody mentions that but as soon as Cade misses a pass all the jerks out there are all over him. I don't think folks are even thinking about that when commenting on his performance. It will be better in the future but we have to get a pass game working first and I believe Lester will get it done, remember he is working with what was left to him and not much more. Looking forward to a bowl game now.
What are the examples of Iowa being 'Horrible' after winning last year? And don't list the passionate expected things that happen in sports after buzzer beaters. Tell me something ACTUALLY horrible that happened
I never viewed Nebraska as a true rival until now. Hell, I usee to cheer for them whenever they played state because I wanted state to lose every game.
Have to point out, Shaggy is now 2-0 as a starter. One road win and a win against a rival. With that said, I do hope we have better QB options next year.
Nebraska is the best example of a classless organization that is focused on symbolism over substance. They fold and choke whenever they are truly challenged by teams with genuine confidence. Huskers (team and fans) are still fixated in their historic excellence of 20+ yrs ago yet struggling with the reality of mediocrity and fragility. When a team has won 10 of the last 12 its not a rivalry and that is the facts for this game. Shaking the opponents hands is an expectation like standing, taking off our hats and placing hands on heart during the national anthem. Low class lack of sportsmanship and honor for the game is now the reality of the team, Husker fans and the University.
I saw a husker podcast on here and they dude was like "we don't want to be like Iowa". The Nebraska ego is why they will always be horrible. The fans live off 1995 and act like they are "almost there". They are truly one of the worst run programs in the country. No team spends more money and gets less for it than Nebraska.
@WashedUpWalkons Almost certainly his lack of experience in negative temps... he's a good QB, has a chance to be great, but that's a tough environment even for a 5th year senior. Though, I was certainly happy to watch it all play out.

Pretty hypocritical that a group of players praying need to do it in the middle of an opponents logo knowing pretty clearly it pisses off the home team. Every team that plays at Nebraska next year should plan on praying on the big red N.
Post armed police officers to stop prayer at the logo, then expect them to shake hands with the devil at the logo, possibly they were prayers for the children that the hypocrites wave to in the hospital.
Lets say Iowa was the most outrageously disrespectful team out there(they aren't even close, if you step away from your emotion you'd realize they are the opposite)-- does that suddenly mean you want your team/players to match the immoral, disrespectful behavior? That would be a weird value to hold for your team
