God I loved experiencing this arc for the first time. The reaction of the boys as they realized the tone and difficulty of this arc was going to be radically different from anything that came before is so good. Although they aren’t the big bad, I still think Edward and Lydia are far more intimidating villains. @@GGorsty This is from the podcast role-playing game podcast The Adventure Zone, specifically the first major campaign, Balance. They’re currently on their 3rd major campaign, Graduation. I’d recommend starting with Balance, however.
Can we talk about Arms Outstretched? Griffin was desperately trying to kill someone off in The Suffering Game, trying to intensify the stakes for the big reveal of Barry. Griffin made a place where healing was forbidden, the whole point was to despair, but then, his family refused. His family, his brothers and father, rejected the despair plan. You want to take one of us? Well goddamn, the rest of us aren’t gonna take it laying down. Even to when the boys played perfectly, they got down to it and Griffin invoked Bad Luck. Bad luck will never, ever stop the power of love. Griffin’s plan was thwarted by the fact that these characters love each other so much, that the players would go to hell to get each other. It makes me so emotional, that Magnus was saved. It makes me more emotional that, on some level, it was Travis being saved by his father and big brother.
Griffin “sweet baby brother” McElroy tried so Goddamn hard to kill the absolute tank of Magnus Burnsides. He was so close too but then his brothers and father love and spite pulled them through and it’s truly and amazing audio experience.
the suffering game, stolen century, and story and song were all punches to the gut that came in quick and violent succession and we were surprised every time at the amount of emotional damage griffin could do to us
I wouldn't call it "quick", to us binging after the fact sure but you gotta remember that from Suffering Game Part 1 to Story and Song Part 3 was 301 days. They were actually all punches to the gut that came in very slow, violent succession.

I'm quite possibly in love. Seriously, I'm not exadurating, this is one of the best pieces of music I've ever heard. It gets me so pumped up, its amazing.
im irrationally mad that my youtube mix doesnt play this anymore for some reason every day i need to listen to this track to live
I know very little to nothing about TAZ or DnD as a whole (though I have several characters ready-all that’s stopping me is nervousness) but THIS IS SO CATCHY!
You NEED to listen to TAZ!!!
don't be nervous, if you can find a campaign no one will judge you, we've all been playing for our first time once. and you should absolutely listen to TAZ, it might honestly help with beginner nerves. i know i'm late, and i hope you've found your way into dnd and TAZ in the last year
@@phantasmal_detective oh, little update: I started playing and…I may have gained a special interest heheh. I also made a lot of new friends!
@@madam-mint glad to hear it! 😁
Two years later…I’ve been hyperfixating on DnD and show no sign of stopping
god, thank you for this medley! all these years later and the suffering game still makes me emotional lol. balance specifically, but the whole show is just a huge part of my life
THE SONG IN THE SHOW GIVES ME CHILLS AND THIS MIX LIGHTS UP MY WHOLE SOUL BLESS!!!!!
Abraca-FUCK YES! THIS IS AMAZING MAN
I've never really been into TAZ but this is a bop
You really should listen to it
wait do you mean you've never really listened, or that you don't love it. because if it's the first, you should absolutely give it a try. and if you don't like it, i'd advise powering through the first arc cause it gets amazing. if you just dislike it though, well, can't win 'em all
welp, guess i gotta go back and listen to the suffering game arc again
This just showed up on my recommended. I have no idea what this has to do with anything but im just straight vibin bro
Listen to the podcast please the first ark sucks but it gets so much better
@@CaribouGutSludge what podcast? this just appeared in my recomendations
@@bahamutShin oh! This song is a mix of a song that comes from the adventure zone. It's a banging dnd podcast, tho the first ark can be a bit dry
I found this years ago having no idea what this was now I’m crying about the ending
