The funny thing with this video is that despite his awesome driving, he's only a couple of seconds above the split. Dirt has no mercy.

it’s the best way to drive in rally, don’t depend on what you see, but rather what you hear. it makes it so much easier to anticipate corners and fly through them.

As impressive the driving here is i find it funny cuz at first before i bought the game this seemed easy enough but after starting up the game i find myself spinning, doing a barrel roll, hitting a tree at the corner, going off course, breaking every light at night, popin a wheel or 2, hitting spectators, and more lmao. so big props to the driving skills.😂
Legend has it, Henrik passed all the "FLAT OUT" DLC just by booting up the game.
We have to input the code HENRIK to unlock the DLC 🤣

It most certainly isn't, but it does present itself that way. Great looking and sounding game nonetheless.

I'd of been in a tree by the 3rd corner... I have a love hate relationship with Dirt 2.0. Sometimes I feel like a driving god (all luck) then others the car is totally mangled by the first split lol.

I'm already finding this kinda stuff relaxing. Everything is in sync to sing the song of rally.
Of course, this is great driving, must be said. But more than all else, this made me appreciate the partnership between driver and co driver to be able to navigate such tricky terrain like this, at these speeds. Also, haven't games really come along since the PS1 :D

That was one hell of a drive. You even made a few massive cuts that would have made Colin proud. In a week where I've gone back to play the Subaru from the original Colin McRae Rally on the PlayStation, this has been a very apt and welcome video.

Cockpit cam doesn't actually give you the sense of how the car is handling, Peter Solberg himself has said that chase cam Is better as it gives him a sense of how the rear of the car is handling

That's the shorthand used in rally driver to allow the driver to prepare for the coming corners. 1-6 are how tight the corner is, with 1 being a hairpin. Crest, dip, bump, fairly self explanatory.
@@justletmecomment6453 a 1 turn is not a hairpin it is a almost 90 degree turn a hairpin is simply called a hairpin in the game at least
Pacenotes and interpretations:
5-6 - high speed corners
3-4 - medium speed
1-2 - tight, low speed corners
Tightens - narrow road after corner
Opens - wide road after corner
Dip - low altitude sudden drop
Bump - sudden highs and lows
Hairpin - curved corner
Acute - 30 degree curve
Early - immediate corner
Long - corner is long
Short - corner is short
Unseen - literally cannot be seen as you enter the corner
Cut - straying away from the track for a bit, comes in big or small
Caution - imminent danger
Don't cut - stay on the trail during the corner
Chicane - common on asphalt stages like Poland. Listen where to enter.
Camber - your ride will be in a bad angle, you have to adjust your braking to avoid getting off the trail during bad camber.

you miss the down shifting with acceleration, I mean when you have to brake and down shift like here 1:17, you have to accelerate while changing your gear, it will help you to brake with the motor too

P.S. People underestimate how hard it is to perfectly nail those mechanisms of control and rensponsiveness in rally games, particularly Dirt. They do an amazing job.

It's like a mix between Finland and Wales, but with much more narrow roads and deep ditches/obstacles.

George Tinsley the game itself is bad the graphics are nothing special and the physics aren’t good either. Dirt Rally is a better game

Some people really dislike the lack of depth perception the cockpit view provides. It's just a preference thing.

Cockpit views in games are almost always horrid. Depth perception and the field of view always off from real life makes me hate it usually
@@justletmecomment6453 I can understand that, but personally it breaks the immersion too much for me if I'm with wheel unless I'm in cockpit view and my driving suffers quite a lot. With pad that really isn't an issue.
