    Looking at this figure makes me want to turn it into an Inhumans Black Bolt custom 😁👍

      Funny you should say that, I was thinking of Black Bolt the whole time.

    Great review! I always did wonder what Kirby and Lee were thinking with that giant headband. Free cable anyone?
    But yes definitely love those energy effects, hopefully little thing like that dont get stolen, when the open face boxes start.
    For Playability he will look magnificent on a shelf of other Muties.

      Yeah, the windowless boxes are a huge concern for stuff like this.

      Stan Lee and Jack Kirby has nothing to do with the creation of Havok. It's all design by the late Neal Adams (RIP) His suit actually is an energy regulator / containment suit as his mutant powers were far too powerful for him to control.

    So sad that he die in X-Men: Apocalypse
    He looks amazing in X-Men Marvel legends collection

      Yeah, Havok really did get the short end of the stick in the movies. But then again, Cyclops did too.

    Really awesome energy effects here, really think stuff like this needs to be included more often. On the subject of banshee, whatcha think of her not having a screaming alt head? Especially given the price

    • @5POAFigureReviews
      @5POAFigureReviews  2 года назад

      They would have been better off just doing a screaming head and not worrying about a static one. They said they will find a way to get one out there, but we'll see.

    In general, marvel legends figures are no where near as cool , as detailed and as much paint apps as dc multiverse. And they are more expensive

      I agree. The amount of reuse ML does doesn’t compensate for the price. Mcfarlane DC has been really going in with sculpts and everyone looks different for the most part.

    Loved your video 5POA. I am curious to solicit your opinion on Ha$bro More Loot comic line product price. The curiosity stems from your review of Havok, and when you mentioned that this product is essentially two colors with some new accessories. The Sunfire buck tool has been bought and paid for many times over. Black and white paint is easiest the cheapest. Which leaves ML to work on the new portrait and accessories. Do you consider this practice to be acceptable or do you feel compromised when spending your $$$ on it? From my perspective, Ha$bro should be offering products like this at a cheaper rate considering they didn't have to spend a lot on it.

      Another question from your video - what sort of flight stands do you trust with bucks like these?

    • @5POAFigureReviews
      @5POAFigureReviews  2 года назад +1

      From my understanding, and I could be incorrect, but the budget for action figure waves is spread over the whole wave and not each figure. In other words, they cheap out on one figure in the wave to invest more in another. And then in general, reuse often goes towards fundraising new tooling in future waves. A good example of this is all the variants McFarlane does (like the artist's proofs) or the variants NECA offers (like three different versions of each Universal Monster). So in the case of someone like Havok, presumably the budget is going to Bonebreaker or other figures in the wave like the new Vulcan body, and towards what's coming next. In that regard, if reuse makes sense, I don't mind. That said, with the price increases, it feels like we are getting less, which is very frustrating. I'm personally buying fewer Legends because of it. On the other hand, if you saw my Hercules video, he was an example of a figure I was happy with. New tooling for the whole lower half, two heads, four hands, and a weapon, along with extra paint for his hairy chest. I felt like I was getting my money's worth. Between this and the windowless boxes, I expect Hasbro to take some serious hits, and if they do, I hope they are smart enough to correct course. It is in their best interest to.

      I make a lot of my own stands with wire, but regarding professional figure stands, having tried McFarlane, Mafex, and NECA, I like NECA's flight stand best. Longer arm, better weight-bearing base, and tighter clamp.

      @@5POAFigureReviews Expense sharing is a common Ha$bro practice in waves, so you are 100% correct. Cheaping out is generally reserved for the female or smaller characters. For this particular wave the money went to the BAF, Maggot, and Vulcan. The remaining five figures in this wave have bucks, paints and designs many years old. A year ago it was the Colossus AoA wave of 8. With the exception of Shadowcat and Cyclops the rest of the wave was either new designs or new accessories. Total reversal in quality and workmanship. And please don't get me started on the Bonebreaker BAF - unless you share the same regrets.

    Another hero with a mask that literally covers up nothing. At least a domino mask (that tbh is usually equally as useless as it’s basically like wearing sunglasses) it covers the eyes. This one doesn’t cover anything.
