    Hey James. Hello from your number 1 fan. I passed my driving test today in first attempt with 3 minors. I cannot cannot and cannot thank you and your videos enough. They’re the real reason for me to pass and learn so much in such less time. My instructors exacts words on my first lesson were “you’re already quite well prepared I don’t have to work much on your driving.” And that happened because of you. Thank you so so much once again. Now I know that I can watch these videos without being nervous and in peace. 😊

    Thank you for this video. I passed over a year ago. I still struggle and abit apprehensive about doing dual carriageways I wasn’t really taught them especially joining from a slip road. This has helped my understanding 😁

    Brilliant video as always, Mr T. Thanks for posting. Thanks also for clarifying that heavy goods vehicles can can do up to 60 on dual carriageways. Good to know. I feel it's important for others to know the speed limits for other classes of vehicles on different grades of road. Thanks again for the video, Mr T. Great work. Looking forward to seeing your new videos.

    I got a question could you please do a video on eco driveing because the price of fuel has gone up. Fantastic video Thank you very much got a question about when going on to the motorway and the joining lane turn in to lane one so i take it you just keep going up to motorway speeds is that right?

    • @JamesTravis
      @JamesTravis  2 года назад

      Of course I will.
      Yes you build up your speed on the accelerator lane and match the speed of the traffic so it’s easier to join into gaps.

    • @JamesTravis

      You need to be looking a few times. The first few times is to access if the cars on the carriageway are gaining ground on you. That’s why it is important to get your speed up quickly.

    Hi James, I am a learner. I am still confused how do we know we are entering into a slip road. Are there any signs apart from the speed limits(50/national speed limits). This is confusing as it might also be a normal road with the signs.

    • @JamesTravis
      @JamesTravis  9 месяцев назад

      Yes you will get a sign about half a mile away. Then you get count down markets starting with the 3 stripe sign. 2:43 on this video you will see an exit sign.

      Thanks James but I was asking about the acceleration lane . How do we know we are entering or entered the slip way to join the dual carriageway or motorway?

    • @JamesTravis
      @JamesTravis  9 месяцев назад +1

      @@safalchhetri2059 as you enter a slip road onto a dual carriageway you will always get a long run up to the actual dual carriageway. You will also get on your right white hatched lines joining you to the carriageway, plus give way lines as you are about to enter the carriageway.
      If you are entering a motorway from a roundabout you will always get a slip road with all the same road markings as a dual carriageway.

    If there is a road sign of a slip road approaching, is it essential that I move to the right lane?

    • @JamesTravis
      @JamesTravis  2 года назад

      The thumbnail has the picture of an exit and slip road. It’s not essential to move to the right lane. What’s important is that traffic that is looking to enter filter in.

    • @keith6400
      @keith6400 2 года назад

      In my experience when driving along a two lane dual carriageway as you approach a joining slip road where traffic may come in you have to monitor whether there is traffic joining, whether it will fit in without your need to change speed or direction. Your observations need to be working out whether lane 2 behind will let you safely change lanes safely if needed or whether you need to adjust your speed generally slowing down slightly to synchronise with a gap in the joiners.

    • @hilawyon21
      @hilawyon21 2 года назад

      Thank you guys for the tips. My instructor advised me to change lane in those situation during our lessons. I had my driving test in the A3 4months ago. I was approaching a joining slip road and I was too keen to move to the right lane without realising that I need to exit soon. Which forced mo to move back to the left lane and caused me to fail because I was too close to the vehicle in front of me..
      But now I had already driven my car in the A3 thrice since I passed my test.. When I approach a joining slip road, there's no entering vehicle that's why I just carry on in my lane and maintain my speed! 😅

    • @keith6400
      @keith6400 2 года назад +1

      @@hilawyon21 When you are new. Driving along a 70 mph dual carriageway it is easier to drive at 60 mph because when you encounter joining traffic you may speed up or slow down. You have more options than when driving at 70 mph. After a while you learn from a long way back in what order everyone will arrive.

    Ok, lets have a talk about COMMON SENSE. and the time stamp 3:03
    What you do is just keep your wheels in line with that Solid white line.
    There should be 0% chance of anyone ever being on your left side, if you make that exit as soon as it is available.
    Who are you looking for on your left side? A motorbike riding on the shoulder?
