I get so frustrated when I make a mistake with my socks. I drop stitches, quite often and Im getting real good at frogging and picking up stitches! I guess thats how I learn! When I get too frustrated I pull out my crochet projects and work that for awhile! Thank you for all your video tutorials! They are helpful and I enjoy listening to your videos as I knit! I feel like you are a new friend! Carol in Escondido, CA😎
Congrats to all the SSC winners-always fun to recognize names from the Ravelry group chat thread. I envy all of your socks....I'm in a knitting slump with life getting in the way. Hopefully I'll be able to find a project to bring me joy soon...I do miss that. I do have fun reading the chatter and seeing what all everyone is making. Have a fun 2 weeks!
Every week is a lot. The behind the scenes is a lot more than most people know. I was so inspired by your red, white, & blue socks I cast on my only patriotic colorway to take to fireworks on the 4th. Plain vanilla sock. It's been a lot of fun to knit. So I'm working on a new pair of vanilla socks, an old WIP, and a pair of DK. I'm a happy sock knitting girl.
I do the same but cast on 8 socks at a time. They all get a cuff and then they are all at various stages. Trickier bits for home and concentration and legs and feet first on the go. Thank you for teaching me how to knit socks.
I'm glad you're taking some time for yourself! I've been a bit under the weather for the past several months so my knitting has been my saving grace. I love your vanilka🎉sock pattern and am having a wonderful time making socks for gifts. My 92 year old mother absolutely loves handmade socks - they are a new experience for her. Thank you so much for the terrific tutorials!
Hi Kayla. Great you had a lovely time with your family. I love seeing all the socks you have been knitting. They are all lovely. I am looking forward to seeing the cardigan or sweater you are going to start creating for your niece's birthday. It is so great she loves receiving them and wears them. We are in winter here so lots of rain and it is quite cold in Western Australia.Take care and enjoy the 2 weeks break.
Aloha Kay! Love that cowl you are working on! Also, after a 2 year hiatus from anything knitting or crocheting (because..life), I am so happy to be back and although I am currently knitting on another Oracle shawl, I am binge watching your vids (catching up) and am inspired to cast on some socks. Any socks at this point. I may cast on another "With Grace In Your Heart" shawl because I loved the pattern so much! Anyway, can't wait for the Fall knitting because summer right now in Hawaii is so humid and hot and just happy to be back to what I love doing (second to reading of course lol). Sending love and cool tropical breezes your way!
I’ve been casting on two socks of different pairs at the same time - I didn’t realize how much more motivated I’d be to finish my projects!! If I get bored of one, I can switch to the other 🙌💕
Congratulations to all the winners! Summer sock camp is the best thing about summer. I just ordered a skein of Sweet Land of Liberty for socks for my nephew! Love them. ❤️🤍💙
I love the names of some of the yarns you use! They’re so fun, I want that job! lol Also looking forward to the sweater for your niece! Enjoy your 2 weeks!
I just popped on here to say thank you for sharing the Bible Recap. I have seen you post your reading on instagram many times but lately it really intrigued me. I started researching more to understand it and began 6 days again doing the daily reading and video to accompany it. It has brought me a lot of joy. It was just the type of bible “study” that I needed. ♥️
I am so happy to hear that you are enjoying it! I completely feel the same that it was just the type of bible study that I needed as well. It has had such a huge impact on me!
Lovely that you are giving yourself more time with the family over the summer and seeing you every two weeks is a good idea! Loving all the new socks today. Congratulations to the SSC winners.
What a wonderful bunch of socks 😉. Congratulations to all of the winners 👏🏻. I do have some vanilla socks on the go but I’m also working on a cable top 😬, first time doing cables 🤞🏻 xx
Sitting here knitting my First ever Row One subscription box Scrappy socks while watching you. I absolutely LOVE the yarns I got. However, yours are different colors, I want them all! lol
Thank you so much for sharing the Bible Recap site on your podcast several weeks ago. I have joined in and I am loving the daily readings. I hope I can stay diligent and make it through the whole year. I am amazed at the number of socks you have already knit this year and I love watching you podcasts!!
I am so happy that you are enjoying the Bible Recap! I am hoping that I can stay diligent and make it through the whole year as well. I am enjoying it so much that I think I will and I could see doing it again! I've learned so much and felt such a good change in myself since doing it.
So random, but since you like pop rocks I thought of it. Have you ever had the Oreos with pop rocks in them!??! I know it sounds weird (unless you've tried them) but they are my absolute favorite. We have only found them twice in like 5 years, but they're AWESOME. If you ever come across them, I highly recommend.
Putting a video up each week is hard. I only do once a month as i just don't have the time. I really enjoy seeing you finish and wips. You inspire me to try socks. I haven't managed it yet but I am itching to start!
Random information, you can set certain people to be able to interrupt the do not disturb on your phone. I have mine set so that I will be notified if my husband and the two kids who have cell phones can get through do not disturb. Love the finished socks! 🧶
Yep, I know. But at the same time if there was an emergency and they called from another #… wouldn’t go through. I just prefer when I’m recording to just leave it on normal.
Thank you for another great podcast, love it 😍. Love all the socks your making. Have a great summer time with your family, we'll be waiting for all off the progress your making. Happy knitting, Petra
I was in your neck of the woods this weekend. We went to a family reunion in southern Ohio and went to our old church in Enon on Xenia street. I had lots of knitting time in the car.
Wow Kay you power through making socks, im mainly a crocheter but I'm really wanting to make my first pair of knitted socks ! I've knitted a baby jumper but hopefully I can make socks !happy crafting Kaye x
I have been considering buying another 9” circular to knit both socks at the same time. I always thought I would knit the same on both needles, so knit the cuff and then knit the cuff. Knit the leg and then knit the leg. Interesting to hear your reasons for doing it differently.
I always knit my socks in tandem ie two set of needles I do the cuff on both then the leg & so on. Yes you do have to invest in another needle but for me it’s well worth it. No second sock syndrome for me! 😀
I almost always do both socks at the same time on 9” circulars. I don’t like to have 2nd sock syndrome 😅 so keep both going pretty evenly at the same time.
Every other week works for me too- except when I miss a week and then get behind. 😅 But summer is meant to be spent enjoying the time with my kids- so everything else can wait as long as my kids get a good summer. 🧡
Great episode! How do you get so much done with the puppy?! We have an almost 7 month old we adopted a little over a month ago. She's great but I can't do anything - she's so busy! We do hike but the heat and humidity has been cutting that down.
I was goaling to jois ssc this year but i ended up doing sweaters instead😅 casting off #3 since June (making them for my 4 kiddos) Congrats to all the winners!
Hey Kay, lovely to catch up watching you today. Please can you share your tip on the best way to weave ends in on the scrappy socks. I would love to make some but hate ends!! 😅

Hi. Not summer here in Australia, a very cold winter. I'm always busy making all year round
