  • Seasons in Concert is a 1996 documentary issued conjunction with George’s album LINUS AND LUCY-THE MUSIC OF VINCE GUARALDI. An all-digital live concert production, recorded for PBS, featuring a live concert performance from Nashville, as well as footage from Maui and Montana. George plays selections from his best-selling solo piano albums including, DECEMBER, FOREST, SUMMER, WINTER INTO SPRING, AUTUMN as well as LINUS & LUCY - THE MUSIC OF VINCE GUARALDI including Cast Your Fate to the Wind and others. In addition, he plays slack key guitar with Chet Atkins and Keola Beamer as well as his own solo guitar and solo harmonica.
From his original solo piano compositions to his rollicking stride and R&B piano pieces, George Winston has been playing his own brand of piano music, which he refers to as 'rural folk piano,' for 25 years. George's wide range of piano influences includes James Booker, Professor Longhair, Fats Waller, Teddy Wilson, Henry Butler, Dr. John, and Phil Aaberg.
This concert video features George's most popular pieces. So sit back and enjoy the best seats in the house for an evening with George Winston.

I found out yesterday that he died. Now I’m watching all the videos and weeping. I’m so sad I’ll never get to see him play live.
This is a reminder folks: do the things you want to do NOW. Don’t wait or it will be too late and you will regret it.

The thing I loved about a George Winston concert is that myself and the rest of the audience sat still and listened to the music no jumping up and down no screaming, no yelling no crazy fans just a very quiet, thoughtful man performing his virtuosity on the piano. A very nice night out.

I just wrote the following poem and comment yesterday!
      "He Comes to Me Inviting"
      By Kerrie Lynn Robinson
      Dec 13, 2023
      He comes to me inviting
      on piano, ether, and mind,
and I perceive, I respond, and I climb
      that royal purple stairway.
I climb that staff, a note upon lines
      following patterns of melody and
      rhythm
to a place he has prepared for
      my triumph. And I triumph
      through well crafted, intricate, and
      elegant sensation bond,
a call and response not from sheet music
but sheet music still the same,
a comeback upon his sublime masculine,
      musical reach.
We are new verse upon even repetition
      and he, so inspirational.
This is a high-flying time of my life,
      an alto accelerando,
      with absolutely amazing echoes
to and through theatres in space.
      #
WONDERFUL SET DESIGN AND LIGHTING: The stairs in the screenshot from the film of one of George Winston's stage performances, "Seasons in Concert," if viewed in a particular detail have all the correct elements for a musical staff: lines for E, G, B, D, and F (every great brilliance deserves favour) and spaces for F, A, C, and E (face, and faithful/fervent artists celebrate/create emotions). Furthermore, from a special, heightened perspective, the structure and lighting of the stairs cause them to appear to be the physical manifestation of George's personal musical reverberation in air, space, and time, as is the music emitted from every, single aspect and being of God's creation. I am familiar with George's reverberation. ~ Kerrie Lynn Robinson, Dec 14, 2023

Wow, I just found out reading the comments that he passed away last year. R.I.P you will be missed big time. Luckily your beautiful music and soul will stay forever. My 2 daughters and me were very lucky to see him perform in NYC a few years ago.
I bought "December" in 1983, I was 17 then, the art cover caught my eye, and it said piano solos, so I gave it a quick listen of the 3 first tracks, and I was hooked right away. I have been listening to George Winston since with my wife and my daughters, and his music always sounds fresh, and colorful. His music is an escape, it connect us to the beauty of Nature. He also introduced me to the Windham Hill record world. George Winston and Erick Satie have the biggest influence on my piano compositions. Thank you George for what you brought to the World !
