Also, if you'd like to show off you love the magic of Disney and would like to support my videos then consider purchasing some Wotso Videos merchandise at wotsostore.com ! Thanks for watching and have a magical day everyone!
I never knew that I needed to think about things like this. Until I found you and supercarlinbrothers. PLEASE do a colab with them Edit: I can't wait until the video about flyn!!!!!
Well, l always thought that the Trolls made his parents and kristoff himself forget about each other since trolls can use this kind of magic and are well know for kidnapping children (especially blondes ones) Also, Hans last name is Westergaard and Elsa's and Anna's is Àrnadalr
I thought one of the men carving out the ice blocks was his father but then the troll kidnaps him and this happened when he wasn’t looking and so his first logical reaction and thought would be that Kristoff fell through the ice and tried to look for him but seeing his son was gone, he thought he was dead and never tried looking for him again because the father thought there was no point in continuing to search that would always end up finding nothing.
OMG yeess, can you imagine him dealing with both Anna and Flynn??? The eye-rolling Kristoff would do as those two run off into some crazy plan they didn't even think through! Hahahahaha
Cool theory, one that was well-researched and took the source material into account. I came up with a headcanon myself a little while ago about Kristoff's parents... Kristoff's parents were two Sami people who tried to set up a new life in Arrendelle. Sadly, however, neither parent was able to get a job or income - Arrendelle's prosperity was their downfall. Every business wanted new people, but the list was never short of candidates, and who would hire a pair of Sami's from out of town when they could hire a resident who'd lived in Arrendelle since birth? With no money, and nothing but a mere shack over their heads, Kristoff's parents decided to place him in an orphanage, for his own good. At least there, he'd have a chance of a better life. The next winter was cold, and by spring, Kristoff had no one... When Kristoff says that Ice is his life, he means it more than most people know...
Johanna Oldach The original inhabitants of Scandinavia, before the arrival of Norwegians, Swedes and the like (i.e. of Germanic descent), and a people who were historically discriminated against.
This is a great video, Issac. I recently did a Christmas production on the Snow Queen and oh, boy, I found that there's a huge connection between the original story and Frozen. I believe that Kristoff's family are the robbers, but I believe that his Mother maybe the Robber Girl (who is in the original story) and Kristoff's father maybe a wandering ice farmer, who may have become a robber following a mishap or he stole something from the ice farmers. Somehow, they must have bumped into each other, had Kristoff and left him abandoned with the ice farmers themselves because both parents took off. I always admired the Robber Girl when I did the production; like Kristoff, she certainly was a wild child and because of these personalities, my conclusion is that Kristoff's Mum is her. =) But it's my opinion tbh - I think that there are more better ones out there.
I agree except I think that maybe when the ice farmers rescued him from the ice (he said that happened right?)maybe his dad went in to save him and drowned, then the mum abandoned him because ya kno back then if yous were a widow it was easier to find another husband if yous didn't have a kid with you. I think she probably did robbery and so did the dad except when he was ice farming, then the incident happened, the farmers took him in, he stayed with them til he found the Elsa/Anna happenings, then got adopted by the trolls and etc.
That was really a great theory!!! Even though I want Kristoff's parents to be kind, I think that yes, they were thieves... I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE FLYNN-CHRISTOFF VIDEO😍
Flyn Rider could be related somehow to Kristoff . Flyn was once a robber and Kristoff parents may have been too. Maybe they are half-brothers? (because of different last names)
Sakura Kikuchi wait wait wait what if - they are true brothers, they were both placed in an orphanage, Kristoff escaped, Eugene was adopted and got a different surname, then ran away from his family for whatever reason and here we are. Idk I have done no research other than a couple videos like this so 🤷
I didn’t think that Kristoff could’ve been abandoned by his parents. But I’m not completely sure about him being a thief. But maybe it could be pretty possible that Eugene and Kristoff could’ve been in the same orphanage. Maybe they both met Lance Strongbow at the same time. Who knows. Thanks for this amazing theory.
I feel as though his parents didn't became robbers, his father would have been a honest, hard-working ice harvester who died in an accident while his mother died when he was little (maybe during his illness). Either way, Kristoff would have been an orphan at a very young age.
Idk i think it might be more likely that he'd been orphaned more recently- so assuming he is six when the trolls adopted him, hes just ok with that and leaves the ice harvesters, so he cant have had a massive connection to them. Otherwise, I agree with ur theory
GREAT topic choice!!! I was actually doing my own Kristoff video when I started thinking about this myself. Maybe it could be explored in Frozen 2? I think that'd be pretty interesting!
Haha, yeah, I know, but it would be really nice to see it touched upon. Regardless, I'm happy you at least did! Thanks for making the video, keep up the awesome work!
Well, its actually possible considering that they have visited and studied Sami culture in lapland and they heard local stories directly from Sami people.
I like this theory. It makes a lot of sense. That could be a possibility that he was an orphan, since his parents were thieves. Idk, but I kinda agree w/u on this. & hey, I made the first like, that never happens! LoL
No, because Krisstoff fell In love with Anna and I don't think he would do that while he fell in love with Anna and I have a question who are Vitanti real parents because she doesn't have the same eyes as Zira the only one that have the same eyes as her are Scar and Nala love your videos Isaac!💙💙💙💙💙
When? When? When? Wheeeeeeeeeeen!? When is the next disovering disney episode about Flynn and Christoff!? I'm on the edge of my seat here Isac. Aslo friendly tip in the episode of Tangled the series Cassandra vs. Eugene. Flynn says what and/or who he thinks his parents were like.
I absolutely loved this video you have such great theories and I love Disney. I hope you do a video on Morgona and Ursula from the Little Mermaid why did they become evil?
Kristof is adorable, really XD Also, did you know Eugene from Tangled originally was supposed to look like Kristof and they decided to use the appearance for Kristof? I think Kristof is my favorite character now, tied with Anna.
Amazing video. Given that Kristoff is largely based on the Robber Girl from the Snow Queen story, I have to say that Kristoff's parents could be not common robber but thief masterminds. Maybe that why they left Kristoff in the orphanage they wanted to given a better life and not follow the family business or many it was dangerous raising a child in the middle of a heist. You mentioned that Kristoff was adventures and wild, maybe he inherited his personalty from one or both of his parents. It would be interesting to see Kristoff's backstory and his birth parents be address in the future. Maybe a spin-off? Amazing vid Issac you never fail to deliver.
Now I really want them to delve into this in the second movie. Even just an offhand mention of who his parents were would be great. And I like your theory about his parents being theives who left him when they flead from the law, even though it hurts to think anyone could be mean to him/abandon him. He's such a sweet guy in the movie and looked to be even sweeter as a kid. The idea of anyone being mean to that poor boy hurts my heart. ;-; Also i ADORE the idea of him and Flynn/Eugene being old pals! It is canon that both movies take place in the same world(as seen when Eugene and Raps are shown visiting the castle)so it's very well possible they were friends at one point. Although the timeline on that confuses me since I thought they take place in different time periods, but oh well. Neither of these are exactly set in the 'real' world, more like fantasy versions of our world, so who knows? I was actually thinking the other day it would be neat if The Tangled TV series had an episode with Anna Elsa and Kristoff lol.
Oh my god I've been binging all of your videos :) you are so interesting and captivating! You honestly propose the deepest, most thoughtful theories, and I've never seen anything or anyone like you :) I definitely subscribed
i've always assumed Kristoff was an orphan and he never met his parents. when he was little he wandered around, but the town folks never cared for a lost orphan. one day he followed the ice harvesters and he became fascinated with their job. he met Sven (who i think was an orphan reindeer that the ice harvester took with them) and the workers enjoyed his company, they kept him protected and they also gave him easy tasks (feeding the reindeer?) to do, so he felt useful. then he met the trolls and they "adopted" him, and he grew up between the ice harvesters and the troll family, rarely meeting other people because they never treated him well. but your theory is really good, i never thought about the similarities between Kristoff and Flynn!
Great theory. Thank you for being willing to reference the source material. In Scandinavian languages, a "j" is pronounced as a "y." Hence, Kristoff "Byourmann". 😜
Great theory on Kristoff. I agree the parents could be abusive. I had a consistently abusive parent and have written poems and personal thoughts about it as an outlet. So that song could really be Kristoff talking about his own past. I was kept away from friends, verbally berated for any little thing and physically abused. So these things do happen. Anyway love your work Issac and can't wait to see what you do next. Your videos really are amazing and magical.
I really like your theories and I was definitely wondering about this when I saw the film. I hope that they address it in a Frozen sequel. Another question to address in a sequel that I was wondering about would be Elsa’s ice powers since she was born with them, not cursed. Even though Once Upon a Time did present a reason, I think it’d be great to see an official canon explanation. Finally, on a semi-related note, everyone knows that Rapunzel and Eugene attended Elsa’s coronation and most people speculate that they are related because of that, but we clearly see that there are many royals and others attending the coronation and neither Elsa nor Anna acknowledge Rapunzel so do you think they’re actually related or is it more likely that Rapunzel is fulfilling a royal duty to attend a nearby kingdom’s royal function?
You should analyze Frozen the Musical. They added songs and changed some lyrics that support a lot of your frozen theories! Specific words were changed that imply some things and new songs add even more character development!
NO! although there is some good basis for that to happen I believe the way he talks about people is more like "other people", he is able to accept some kind of family and knows the meaning of family. Another thing is that as you said he IS accepted by the ice men, in rural areas is quite known for people to avoid family of robbers, if his parents were robbers they would have avoided him even deny him alliance. Add in the song he sings about "cursing" literally saying people will curse and beat you. Finally, it has been noted many times the "stupid" way of reacting of Elsa's parents of hiding her BUT, if they had seeing someone like Elsa been killed by their powers wouldn't they fear the same reaction? It makes total sense. They know where to go and who to ask for help so that means it's not common but happens. Tying all this up, Kristoff's mom was gifted as well, the father was one of the ice men. When the town found out of the power they killed her and most probably the father died protecting his son or his wife. Kristoff saw his mother's powers and hearing the people he thought it was sorcery, a curse. They beat his mother up, or worst, his father did when finding the power. Seeing the cursing, back stabbing and beating in his own family or to his family broke him and he stopped working with the ice men. Since it was the only job he knew he continued on but ALONE, and that's why even thou he is seeing with them first he is not with them anymore (the ice men). Also, that explains why he has the ability to talk to the reinder and it's not skeptical about Elsa's power or the consequences of it.
I always took that Kristoff was just an orphan who the ice workers kinda just adopted him because that’s what communities usually do.. it takes a village. But would be cool if he was sent off with Sven when the enchanted forest was about to close. Maybe sort of like Superman was sent off to have a normal life. Would be a cool opening to frozen two having kristoffs parents fight off enemies and get to the reindeer pack and grab a baby Sven, tied kristoff to svens back and seconds before the forest closes sven and baby kristoff escape the forest and Sven finds his way to the ice workers
Isaac singing is so sweet! …. and just as a side note since Arendal is based on the Nordic countries their currency would most likely be in ”crowns” if you want to get technical 😅
EPISODE IDEA: How about the Disney Channel Original Movie: Zombies? The intro described the accident that caused zombies to appear in the town of Seabrook -- but I see signs that the zombies that appeared in Seabrook weren't the first zombies in that movie's universe --- and that zombies had existed for a long time, and had (in other places) even found ways to control their zombie impulses that _didn't_ involve the Z-band. Furthermore, I see evidence that though these zombies were probably discriminated against in one way or another throughout the universe in which the movie takes place --- that the mistreatment in Seabrook was more intense than the mistreatment that zombies would experience most-elsewhere.
I just recently read the snow queen, great story. Also "of the southern Isle" or "of Ariendail" (I'm almost positive I didn't spell that right LOL) would be a royals' "last name" their last names was where they lived. P.S. Great Video.
Your right about Kristoff past. Your correct but Kristoff was never a thief himself that was parents and his family, he just stayed an ice harvester. But not a thief because he does seem like the thieving theme.
I always thought that Kristoff was an orphan and that his parents were frozen to death. It could be another reason why he looked really depressed and upset when Anna was frozen. It wasn't the first time for him to see someone who is very important to him to froze to death. I do like the idea of his dad being a ice harvester and that possibly when he and his mother died the ice harvesters looked after him for a while. Plus, in one of the frozen books it says that Kristoff once fell in a frozen lake when he was young trying to get ice and after the event the other ice harvesters called him ‘Icicle’.
Your correct, the guy, parents were robbers who abusive, neglect and abandoned Kristoff for riches. Poor guy that has to sucks. No he thought reindeers are people.
I can see Kristoff's parents as robbers. Also I can see them forcing him to work a lot as a child. Maybe they were ice harvesters or maybe they just wanted to dump him somewhere while they were busy being criminals.
Kristoff reminds me of Trevor from the Castlevania anime lol, a poor vagabond with no family and that gets routinely abused or, at best, ignored and left to fend for himself. Just seeing the way the ice harvesters treat him (they don't slow down for him and they don't seem particularly concerned about a small child being so close to icy water that could probably kill him within minutes from shock), the way Oaken treats him, the way he sings about how awful people are, and his initial gruff and cynical attitude. He was also apparently raised by rock trolls, so it's possible people of Arendelle saw Kristoff as a changeling/fae child and told their own children to stay away from him and overall ignored (maybe even abused) him.
What is you're theory regarding Sofia's magical amulet? I know she can talk to animals and Elena was stuck in there for more than 40 years, but how does it work? I am just curious, does she just talk to any animal she wants to whenever she wants to? Or can she only talk to certain animals? Why does everyone in the show seem to want it for themselves? How does Sofia's family members not know about the power of the amulet? It seems a little bit obvious to me thank you! Great video!
The writer u mentioned called Jennifer Lynn is the writer of the guardian herd series and. Riders of the realms U should read them their very good books
Never thought much about the lyrics where people will beat you and curse you but uh... wow. Yeah, that's dark. Great theory, I think it all adds up very well! Still a little confused on the orphanage though. Did the orphanage give up and hand him off to the ice harvesters? Did he run from the orphanage to them? And if so, how did he find these ice harvesters who probably travel all the time, especially if it's the specific group his parents worked with before becoming thieves?
This video is pre Frozen 2, and now that it's come out, i had an idea for a new theory about Kristoff's origins! me and my friends were discussing it, and we think that Kristoff might be a Northuldrian. his parents either died close to the border of the woods or, since he was known to wander off as a child, as a toddler he wandered off from his Northuldrian home and ended up close to the border that way, being completely and utterly lost. eventually baby!Kristoff was found by someone from Arendelle, and was taken to an orphanage in the kingdom. him having a special connection with reindeer could also be a connection between him and the Northuldra people, since in the movie, Ryder talks about how they bond and appreciate reindeer the same way he does. that's all i got, but i definitely think Kristoff unknowingly being a Northuldrian is interesting!
--Nice catch with the ourkids.com interview! Arendelle doesn't seem large enough for an orphanage, and the ice harvesters/mountain men don't seem to live a life that would be near one. So while the interview is authoritative, it's from 2014. Much can have changed since then in developing Frozen 2. The two big questions that the Frozen audience is hit with right off the bat-- that DON'T get answered-- 1) The source of Elsa's powers 2) Why is a young boy (Kristoff) without his parents? So this question is a MAJOR part of Frozen, not just a fun fan theory. I think you're on the right track with Kristoff being related to the Little Robber Girl: While his being "based on" her shows up on the wikis and early online overviews of Frozen, I have yet to find an authoritative Disney citation of that derivation anywhere. BUT. There are a few hints out there of where this is going. I've heard, but not confirmed, that the Frozen crew was interviewing native Sami people during their research tour to Norway in 2017. Since Kristoff remains a big part of the story, it's likely they were making sure that any conflict involving his family doesn't insult a living culture. So if his parents were robbers, Disney would have to make sure that they weren't implying all Sami were thieves, and had good reasons to act that way, in any backstory for Frozen 2. That said, I'll ask a question back: Frozen is a story of siblings. *What makes you think Kristoff is an only child?*
Does anybody notice that at the very beginning of frozen(the first one ) you can hear the northuldra people singing /chanting right before frozen heart
Can you make a video on whether or not Rapunzel is immortal? Since her hair kept Mother Gothel alive for so long, wouldn't it do the same for her? also, I love your videos!
I'm not totally sold on your thoughts on Christof's parents being thieves as opposed to just being absent (via death?). What I do think is that the stone trolls abducted Christof and removed him from any hope of a positive human relationship until Anna rescued him.
If you've seen Once Upon a Time, it turns out that Anna and Elsa have an Aunt, who also happen to have the same powers as Elsa. Therefore, the original Snow Queen was their Aunt Ingrid, who people have forgotten, due to the trolls magic and as you know, Elsa isn't evil like The Snow Queen originally was in the books. So it's very possible that Kristoff could be the son of those robbers.

I don't buy that his parents were robbers. Why were they robbers? Maybe they were victims of robbers, or maybe they died due to illness.

That guy on Quora is ALWAYS CORRECT. 8D
Where did you find that?

I thought one of the men carving out the ice blocks was his father but then the troll kidnaps him and this happened when he wasn’t looking and so his first logical reaction and thought would be that Kristoff fell through the ice and tried to look for him but seeing his son was gone, he thought he was dead and never tried looking for him again because the father thought there was no point in continuing to search that would always end up finding nothing.
Kristoff is literally my favorite disney "prince" thanks for the video 😊
My pleasure! Happy you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!

I would like to think Kristoff and Flynn went to the same orphanage, that would be cool
Chicken Pie Flynn's German, Kristoff's Norwegian
Yeah but it would still be fun to think about
Chicken Pie Flynn+Repunzel=Kristoff
I thankyou for the idea of Kristoff and Flynn as friends...Poor Kristoff.

My new favorite comment.
Nio Janssen I think you meant "were nobodies"
You seem like a positive person and I enjoy your videos 😊
Thats a question I never asked myself but when it's mentioned it's such a mind blow
This is a REALLY good theory! It's just so sad😭. I hope they talk about it in Frozen 2!! 💕✨
Frozen 2 already came out. It was the short before the movie "Coco".
No it was just short movie like fever. Not sequel.
@@skydragon311gamer3 No, that was Olaf's Frozen Adventure. Frozen II is coming out in late November.

Nathan Francis I like this but who are Sami people
Johanna Oldach The original inhabitants of Scandinavia, before the arrival of Norwegians, Swedes and the like (i.e. of Germanic descent), and a people who were historically discriminated against.

I laughed so hard when the 'stones' were revealed to be his 'parents'

What happen to the parents? One word: Disney. AKA there dead.
Well, obvs Disney did it. But they usually tell us how.
Not just Disney. Every show movies does this.
Disney really does like having dead family members
Good job!!!! I think his parents died before the events of the film

8:19 He's singing that AS SVEN during that portion, though. Which would seem to suggest that it was SVEN who was once abused by humans.
Oh my god I've been binging all of your videos :) you are so interesting and captivating! You honestly propose the deepest, most thoughtful theories, and I've never seen anything or anyone like you :) I definitely subscribed
'Fun topics for Fun people' is now my new favorite phrase
I just found this channel and I love it
i've always assumed Kristoff was an orphan and he never met his parents. when he was little he wandered around, but the town folks never cared for a lost orphan. one day he followed the ice harvesters and he became fascinated with their job. he met Sven (who i think was an orphan reindeer that the ice harvester took with them) and the workers enjoyed his company, they kept him protected and they also gave him easy tasks (feeding the reindeer?) to do, so he felt useful. then he met the trolls and they "adopted" him, and he grew up between the ice harvesters and the troll family, rarely meeting other people because they never treated him well. but your theory is really good, i never thought about the similarities between Kristoff and Flynn!
Great video, Isaac! Like always!
What if his parents were looking for him, but they couldn't find him, so they gave up, thinking he was dead?
Just a note: in Scandinavian names, a "j" after a consonant is usually pronounced as a "y". So Kristoff is Kristoff Byorg-man :)
You explained it so well thank you
It is so adorable how you pronounce Bjorgman, so wrong but so adorable.
why does this channel answer all of life's questions
You should make a video explaining why Figaro is Minnie’s cat
Great theory. Thank you for being willing to reference the source material.
In Scandinavian languages, a "j" is pronounced as a "y."
Hence, Kristoff "Byourmann". 😜
I have been waiting for this for so long
I've seen the deleted scene you referred to. I'm kinda glad it was cut. He seemed a little TOO rough in that sequence.
2:15 According to the book "A Frozen Heart," Hans' real last name is Westergaard.
Kai is also the name of one of the Staff in the Arendelle Castle as well. It is stated when he speaks with subtitles I have noticed.
How's your day Isaac?
It's going well! How about you?
Um I just want to say love u soooo much u guys r my family
Kristoff The True King Of Arindale Mindblowed
Your videos are so much fun to watch.
@Wotso Videos Plz do the Huntsman's Full Story. And plz, plz mention that in Scottish versions of Snow White, he is Snow White's father.
I always took that Kristoff was just an orphan who the ice workers kinda just adopted him because that’s what communities usually do.. it takes a village. But would be cool if he was sent off with Sven when the enchanted forest was about to close. Maybe sort of like Superman was sent off to have a normal life. Would be a cool opening to frozen two having kristoffs parents fight off enemies and get to the reindeer pack and grab a baby Sven, tied kristoff to svens back and seconds before the forest closes sven and baby kristoff escape the forest and Sven finds his way to the ice workers
kristoff grew up poor. video: the fact that he didn't have the 10 coins gave it away
me: not the child labor uh?
I swear, I cracked up every time he said "arendale bucks". 😂😂
Maybe they were ice harvesters or maybe they just wanted to dump him somewhere while they were busy being criminals.
can you do madame medusa?
Wotso : wierd how those things work. Me: yea, wierd.
Love all you videos they always make may day THANK YOU!!!!!!!!❤
@Wotso Videos Actually, ELSA was based on Kai as well as the titular Snow Queen. Also, there are characters in Frozen named Kai and Gerda.
Do Prince John’s full story
Great job! Have you done a theory on Elsa and Rapunzel if they are twins? if you have can you let me know please. 😊😋🍩
7:57.Really lsacc? 😊.
Another great video. 😍 This was a very sad video.
The writer u mentioned called Jennifer Lynn is the writer of the guardian herd series and. Riders of the realms
U should read them their very good books
Also what if one of the younger kids Flynn would read to WAS him???? I like it
--Nice catch with the ourkids.com interview!
Thx for the video Isaac!
Does anybody notice that at the very beginning of frozen(the first one ) you can hear the northuldra people singing /chanting right before frozen heart
Ohh. Poor Kristoff. 😟
That explains a lot about Kristoff. 😢😢 Horrible
Actually, I was wondering if Kristoff and Flynn Rider were brothers.
Isaac: "He was just a young boy"
Me: when he was a young boy his father forgot him to see ice
"Arendelle Bucks" is now the absolute official name of their currency; no debate; it sounds absolutely totally legit. XD
thanks for showing hans Christain story main idea
