Synopsis: In the new series, the iconic spawn of the Addams family is on her own for the first time - and things get predictably gothic. After she’s expelled from her “normal” human high school over an incident involving piranhas (yes, you read that correctly), Wednesday (Jenna Ortega) is sent away to Nevermore Academy, a school for, shall we say, unique students. What she discovers there is a tantalizing, bloody murder mystery - and maybe, just maybe, a few friends as odd as she is.

The show looks good, actually having some violence was an unexpected plus, and the casting of Catherine Zeta-Jones and Luis Guzman as Morticia and Gomez Adams respectively is on point. I'm genuinely looking forward to this!
im for catherine, but not for Luis, ill give it a shot. but my expectations are not high for Gomez
@@CptCloseCall he’s comic accurate here and it’s also a good/funny actor. No one can replace Raul Julia so why even try. I’m looking forward to a different interpretation
If you didn't know, Time Burton actually wanted Johnny Depp for Gomez. But Netflix rejected this as this was before the Depp trial. Kinda blows as I could see Johnny Depp as a good Gomez.

1:45 The way her eyes whipped to the camera without blinking is both phenomenal and frightening (Either that or it's a well cut edit)
It looks amazing! If you pause and look closely you will see that the reflections of light in the eyes change when she looks straight into the camera. That does not bother me as the final effect is very convincing when you watch it in motion. I believe that changing the reflections makes the shot even spookier. It was obviously not a mistake but made to get the best and most dramatic shot of the eyes in either position. I can't wait to see more.
People that are pissed off at the Luis Guzman casting as Gomez Addams are the same people that were mad how he looked in the animated film...and those same people have obviously never seen the comic strip.
I think it's just because for a lot of us, Raul Julia was our first Gomez, and he did such a wonderful job that it really sticks with you.
That said, the new actor looks great too. Definitely more in line with the comics, and he seemed perfectly fine during the trailer. Obviously I can't rate him properly until I see the show, but I have enough room in my heart for multiple versions of Gomez. :)
@@Nayukhuut Raul was only Gomez in name only. Thankfully Charles' estate will never allow that to happen again.
@@MephProduction Yeh, and that's fine. Just saying that that portrayal was how most people learned about the character. I personally love him, but I am excited to see a more comic accurate version too. :)
@@Nayukhuut All three 90s versions of Gomez were so weird and different to what Gomez is or was.. im so pleased the Addams Estate and stepped in with al theses recent projects to protect there heritage and legacy

But I can understand why a bigger fan base would be pissed because Netflix rejected an innocent man for a crime he never committed.
Really dig the gothy Latino representation. There should be more of this in my opinion since we honor Dia de Los Muertos and IMO a closer connection with the macabre.

Thats how they used her to look alive and stunning, the light casting on her face was to show her "glow". I had to read up on it when I was younger because I saw the same thing and was so confused. Haha
It's not an Addams Family gag if you see the gory results to their actions. It's about the before or after.

True but with this being Netflix, they probably felt it was required though the Addams family actions were implied as slapstick comedy.

Oh my! I grew up to The Addams Family and must I say Tim Burtons mind has captivated my interest yet again with this stunning modern take based off some of my favorite classic movies (and comics). This looks like a piece of dark art I may be rewatching a lot of times, Haha. I can't wait to see how this turns out! The cast is different and yet familiar. This perception on wednesday is going to be interesting but fascinating, dark but beautiful. I can't wait! Also curious to see her new atmosphere, a dark school with people similar to her? :) Awesome.
Tim Burton was made for the Addams family
He is, his art captivates dark but light all in the same aspect. His eclectic standards are out of this world or out of the ordinary. so every scene is made to draw interest even during the storyline building up he manages to make every scene captivating and intruiging by keeping the atmosphere alive. So I agree , every scene from this trailer got me. From the dancing, to the stained glass window,to the character introduction. Every scene will offer something enjoyable to the eye.
I think this misses the mark for me because of the intended audience. I don’t need to see Wednesday get taken in by the vibrant and socially normal blonde girl. That should be the girl Wednesday tortures and makes fun of. Is this for gen z? Where is the comedy. I feel people go wrong with Addams family remakes these days because they go for the goth or thriller aesthetic (half assed though) and forget that this was funny back in the day. She is supposed to be a stoic outsider. Not find the place she fits in. She fits in at home with her family because only other Addamses are weirdos like her. But I’ll probably still give it a try

I love everything about this EXCEPT, I don’t get too much of a Wednesday Addams vibe from the actress they chose. Kind of disappointed about that, but hopefully the show will change my mind.

Looks pretty good actually but I feel like it would have been funnier to watch Wednesday in a normal high school like shown in the beginning here instead of being in a school that looks tailer made for her 🤷♂️

This feels like another Sabrina… interesting revamp of classic comic and show, hints at terrifying violence, tons of hype and acclaim, high budget, fizzles out after 2 seasons!
It does have that Sabrina vibe but that's not a bad thing. I think it has great potential.

Not a chance, The Addams estate didn't like how those films butchered the source material, plus the characters in the film were nothing like the original versions and the family tree was screwed up.
I really don’t like how vibrant it is, looks like a low budget teen flick. I can see how it might be an artistic choice to contrast Wednesday from everyone else but it just isn’t nice to look at.

I used to watch the adams family with my big brother.
It's always strange that they go with the movie versions of the Adam's as opposed to the tv show. I always consider the Adam's macabre but not murderers. They just dont understand why someone wouldn't want to work at thier alligator farm.
