Yes, you are absolutely right! My friend was complaining his wifi does not cover his apartment. Appeared the wifi router is mounted is metal box like that. After taking it out wifi works perfectly. And looks like it is a common case in Germany 😂
word of advice if its possible i would recommend tp push the excess cable into the wall instead of cutting it. if you need to rearrange that box later or need to re-terminate a connection you will want that extra cable length.

For those who say Wireless device in a metal box. In some countries the NTU provided by the ISDN is a Wireless Router for the ease of customer who don’t use separate network equipment. They don’t have separate non wireless models. As you see in this video the customer most probably have a TP-Link or similar MESH network and won’t be using the wireless functionality in the NTU.
Not sure what an NTU is, probably and ONU/ONT with built in router and wifi. Yes most ISPs provide gateway devices with built in router and wifi, due to poor customer education which leads to unnecessary customer demands. The ISP provides internet access, not wifi, it's a value add. These ISP gateways are terrible routers and provide poor wifi. The ISP should NOT be providing these devices. The home or office network is the responsibility of the customer. There are privacy and security issues when the ISP is responsible for the home/office network and wifi. I always recommend to get your own router and wifi, such as a whole home mesh system (I typically go with a TP-Link system with powerline network backhaul instead of wifi backhaul) or a separate router and wifi such as Ubiquiti UniFi along with proper ethernet wiring to support this, plus I put the ISP modem in bridge mode or IP Passthrough mode (if possible). And I try to use a 19" network rack over a cabinet like this whenever possible. Far better results this way.

One of the yellow ports on the Router should ideally hook up to one on the Switch. If not, it will not work to connect to the Internet through one of the data-outlets.

Ya'll chill tf down, the SSID on the router itself is turned OFF. The purpose of that TP-Link Gigabit Network Hub is to split the ISP's router/modem to multiple other APs (Access Point). In conclusion, the router or moden doesn't have it's built-in wifi turned on, but rather off and is being used instead to access internet thru it. I've tried this before, it works. It looks stupid to some people who doesn't know shit, but if you actually ask your I.T dude, he'd say the same answer as mine.

Many people think that metal box is good for air cooling. Actually, many equipment put inside a small container metal box, if the air circulation is bad, all equipment will heated up and easier to break down.

Here hoping that the router doesn’t act as an AP as well. Also, I wouldn’t have cut that much of the network cables, it’s not enough to cause an issue as they can reach every corner of the frame, but it’s always good to have enough just in case. Always keep in mind Scalability.

Für mich gibt's die WLAN Funktion des Routers einfach nicht. Das ist so ein Endkundending mit dem Funken des Routers. Die UP Steckdose irritiert mich mehr oder das Cat.5 Kabel.
Had 1 customer with a similar situation, I was going crazy man it was next level Tetris. My version had an x3 EU Plug and 8 Port mini Patchpannel included and the Router was bigger. But to be fair the box was a little bit bigger. But yea I used access points for WiFi. After that I said to my boss "Next time I see dead people" :D

Nice and neat. I would have added boots to the ethernet cables and labeled them. Also don't like the metal box - plastic would be better. Better to separate the Wifi from the router. Lastly, add some power protection/ mini UPS to the power.

Worst thing to do is place a router in a box like that if your using its Wifi signal as it is repeating on itself in a box and will cause so much issues. Always keep your Wifi AP's out in the open.
У этого роутера стремный WiFi. Подозреваю, что точка доступа стоит в середине помещения и висит на одном из портов.
Там у любого роутера будет стремный вайфай :) Из-за экранирования сигнала металлической дверцей :)

Very similar to what we use in Finland, but we terminate the cat cables on keystone jacks on the edge of the panel box

You shouldn't disconnect and reconnect the fiber (the yellow cable with green connector) unless you have proper tools to clean the connectors
