It certainly looks like the false Lestat that is being portrayed in Louis’ memories. The real Lestat is the one looking pale and horrified at the trial.
EDITED: Just saw the new teaser, book fans are thriving.
The good thing is, that means they technically didn't break any law because they didn't kill another vampire. The bad news is that Lestat is not dead.

This show has taken over my life ❤I'll be honest I struggle slightly rewatching Season 1x05 but I'll admit I'm so excited to see that episode, and from what this shows other Season 1 scenes revisited with Delainey as Claudia.

I once saw someone suggest that they should intergrate the change in actress to the narrative. That Louis' memory is so fractured that he can't even remember what Claudia looked like and sounded like properly, so she changes in his recolection. I doubt they'll do that, but I think it would have worked.

Just imagine: Lestat as a human... in the snow with wolves, in his father's castle and... his mother Gabrielle. And first Nikolas! The red coat. How they both dream of running away. The theater, Lesta's passion... and then the whisper of "wolf killer".... Gosh! And everything takes its course. How nice would that?

My theory is that by not prioritizing Claudia and her safety or taking her fears seriously Louis and Armand end up playing a major part in her death so the lifetime of making it up to Louis is surrounding that/her demise in particular. Louis can never forgive himself for it because he could have potentially stopped it and Armand is pledging to be by his side eternally, making it easier/as nice as possible to try and atone.
Louis can never forgive himself AND he can never forgive Armand. The whole reason why Louis relaxed and wasn’t cautious of Claudia’s safety was because he was enraptured by Armand and trusted him totally. Seeing that Armand was powerful than all the vampires in his coven, Louis felt like Claudia was safe. In the end, I think he blamed Armand for her death even more because he believed if Armand really wanted Claudia alive, she would be alive today. So perhaps the memory of how Claudia died is what Armand has twisted in Louis’s brain to make it seem like Armand was helpless?
I haven’t read the books but I believe secretly, Armand was jealous of the bond between Louis and Claudia and wanted Louis all to himself so he allowed Claudia to be killed by doing nothing to stop the plotting that was going on. But the death of Claudia will really break Louis I think. Maybe destroy what little humanity he had left?
SPOILER well Santiago is going to find out that Louis and Claudia killed Lestat as you know the rules they are put to trial and if they are guilty they get executed to save Louis Armand is going to force a weakened Lestat to testify against Claudia
Armand always says he could only save one of them and he chooses Louis for his own reasons. Claudia never stood a chance x

Last night's episode was the best of this season (thus far) imo! The cast deserve ALL the awards! It's absurd that they haven't received any accolades. Amazing work on the production design too. Also, Assad looked sooooo hot with the 70s styling. And then strutting in with the glasses on 😳

Why do I feel like Armand has been blocking Louis’ memories of Claudia’s death? He keeps looking more and more nervous as each episode goes by. And I feel like it’s going to culminate in Louis beating the crap out of him

You know a show is good when you have no idea who villains are. Hell, I’ve even read people saying Armand changed Louis’ memories to protect people from him. The only good guy here seems to be Daniel so far. I can’t wait to find out more.
There is no good guy or bad guy. Or alternatively they all are both. Armand IS protecting Louis and he DOES love him. Lestat loves him too.

I'm guessing Armand has tried to use his powers to keep Louis in his clutches after what will happen to Claudia in this upcoming episode. He knows Louis won't forgive him for what the Coven will do, so the best Armand can do is make him forget like he did with Daniel. So manipulative and controlling.

No what they did was use the audio mash up from episodes 6/7/8 & episode 5 images and I can’t confirm this but allegedly we are also going back to New Orleans and a huge reveal is suppose to take place b4 episode 7 because episode 7-8 are suppose to be part 1 and part 2

These teasers are obsessive and I have no choice but watch them over and over getting more out of it each time. I know I have to wait until Sunday but believe me it is not my choice 😢. I have started putting on close captions because of the intimate heavy British accents. Words have meanings and this well written storyline will guide you alone if you listen. I do know I would not want to be a third person in this super hot love affair. I would always be insecure if I was Amand. I will be bald by the end of this season.

I think that Lestat we saw in the trailer is the REAL Lestat, not Louis mind. But I hope this season redeemed Lestat because he is my least favorite character. Which is the opposite when I read the books, book (and 90's movie) Lestat is my favorite, next to Armand.

In the books the fully regenerated Lestat returns in time to intercede on Claudia's behalf during the life and death trial which she wears the iconic yellow dress.
I dream about season 3 of the series. I want the amazing talent of actors, those feelings, pleasant experiences while watching this beauty. In 40 years, this is the best series of my life.

It looks like Claudia, French chick, and Louie are at the trial & Lestat froze time like Armand did last episode but only a few vampires have movement like Louis & Santiago in their fight.
No, in the other trailer, you see people moving their heads and looking at him.
In Armand's scene, he paused everybody except Nicolas and Lestat.

Thank you so much for referencing the song name! I looked it up, because the orchestral song in the other trailer was from a version of Dracula, so I assume this choice also has a reason. So far, only possible relevant thing I've found is this, specifically the massacre of the innocents - 'The "Coventry Carol" is an English Christmas carol dating from the 16th century. The carol was traditionally performed in Coventry in England as part of a mystery play called The Pageant of the Shearmen and Tailors. It's from the perspective of mothers singing to their doomed children = Louis singing to Claudia

Why is it ‘woke’? The gay isn’t something the show wanted to put in there for shits and giggles. The relationships are canon and crucial to the storylines. Seeing as how the story starts in New Orleans, it makes every sense to bring Black Creoles into the adaptation.
