CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Marilyn (Michelle Williams) arrives in England to work on a movie with Sir Laurence Olivier (Kenneth Branagh).
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Based on the famously missing chapter in Colin Clark's memoir The Prince, the Showgirl and Me, My Week With Marilyn reveals the enchanted week that the then-lowly production assistant spent with the most famous celebrity of the era during the production of the classic 1957 comedy romance The Prince and the Showgirl. The year was 1956. Colin Clark was an ambitious 23-year-old determined to make a name for himself in film. As summer gets underway, Clark manages to land a position as a production assistant on the film The Prince and the Showgirl, starring Marilyn Monroe (Michelle Williams) and Sir Laurence Olivier (Kenneth Branagh). Monroe had just gotten married to playwright Arthur Miller (Dougray Scott), and the newlyweds were on their honeymoon as production got underway. Later, when Miller leaves, young Clark seizes the opportunity to befriend the platinum blonde beauty, and give her a taste of everyday life in England -- far away from the bright lights of Hollywood and the suffocating pressures of fame.

Micheal Williams is brilliant saw her in blackbird on Broadway recently she was great her choices r so courageous
People who call actors courageous are pathetic
Gosh, I loved this movie. It was the best portrayal of Marilyn I had ever seen. Top actress Michelle is.
I agree
To everyone who is posting mean comments about how Michelle Williams is not the best portrayal of Marilyn Monroe. Keep your rude thoughts and opinions to yourself. I believe that Michelle Williams was amazing as Marilyn
Same here! I thought she was brilliant in this too!!!
No one portrait MM as she did and she deserved the Oscar that year NOT meryl streep
just also happened with kristen stewart acting in spencer
Exactly. Can't wait for ana de armas portrayal of marilyn next. Hope it won't be bad or exaggerated
You believe? So what?
she knew how to give them there medicine
I feel like ppl really miss the point when they think historical drama is about likeness. If film were only about likeness we'd just CGI or reanimate the corpse or something.
Who's here after the Blonde movie, starring Ana de Armas as Marilyn Monroe?
Me
I hate that movie. I prefer this one.
@some people deserve to be humbled 4 good and yet Michelle was given a better and more respectful material on Marilyn than Ana therefore Michelle wins lol
@some people deserve to be humbled 4 good it kinda did, she has her smile, her sexyness, her accent was great, she's pretty flawless as Marilyn
@some people deserve to be humbled She couldn't even speak with an American accent.
I've always thought Michelle Williams was an absolute babe and a half. I wish she was in way more stuff
She was a good choice for this role
How? She looks nothing like her. I didn’t get Marilyn vibes from her at all
I agree with you
This is a party impression of Marilyn Monroe. Marilyn's speaking voice off screen was small but not the breathy affected one she used on screen. Also Williams doesn't look much like her.
If you watch any interviews that Michelle Williams did for this movie, she's quite aware of everything about Marilyn. But at the end of the day, this is just a fantastical slice of life in her career and you gotta go with your version of her. It's called great, instinctive acting. The plot of the film isn't her life story
Her voice is SO hard to get right.
Michelle williams is such a good actress but she wasn't fit for marilyn monroe who was inviting flirty and almost childlike. She's very stiff and overacts the bubbliness and tries to force magnetism out of her eyes sometimes
Yeah as much as I love Michelle Williams and her acting, the light "bubbly"-ness seems forced. Might not have been the best choice for the role
that girl doesn't look or sound anything like Marilyn Monroe, her voice was much softer and at a more child like pitch, and Marilyn was much more lively and flirty
TheMadHatter you couldn't be more wrong.
BULL SHIT NIGGAH MICHELLE WILLIMAS NAILED IT TO THE CROSS
YOU SMOKING MAD HATTER? OR MAYBE SOME CRACK???
@@jedi1967 You sound like your on crack! TheMadHatter is right.
Neither does Amy de Armas
She is the best Marilyn player.
Lol they never look like her 💀
They're not meant to. It's called a PORTRAYAL. Gasp! Who knew?
Agree. I wish they could find an unknown who could better capture Marilyns mystique & energy
@@EsthledoKid97 they’re supposed to slightly resemble her lol
Even if they get someone who “looks” like her a lot. People are still going to find something to gripe about. Zzzzzzzzzzzz….
Michelle williams is by no means ugly but she looks nothing like Marilyn. Marilyn was so stunning when she walked into a room i can see why everyone stopped and stared at her . But looking at this .. she doesnt even give me that “wow” feeling
Dang people are never happy no matter what. Say something nice for once. It’ll make a difference ✌️
@@joenathan6478 michelle williams is a good actress. There are u happy. Probably not
Good actress. But I don’t see the resemblance
Its very difficult to capture the essence of Marilyn Monroe. She was truly one of one. Watching this clip makes me appreciate Ana de Armas performance even more. She really came the closest. Although Blonde was a very sad and tragic portrayal of Marilyn.
I cant even do it looks way way off
She looks nothing like Marilyn lol
The problem is that those who do look like her can't act.
Neither does Amy Armas but people are acting like she’s the best when the damn series isn’t even out yet
Ana was more MM than Michelle will ever be. Michelle perfectly fitted into a bad commercial kitchen scene from the 50s. That had nothing to do mith MM.
I wish they had found someone that resembled her better... Susan Griffiths has been an actress as Marilyn since the 80’s and would have been fantastic as Marilyn. She would have been perfect and looks exactly like her
She would've been in her mid-50s when this movie came out. Not a chance.
I just googled who that was and I saw an older pic of her and I was like whoa this is how Marilyn Monroe would of looked as she had gotten older.
Whatever Ana De Armas doesn’t look much like Marylin (and from the little time we hear her talk we hear her with a Spanish accent which Marylin DID NOT HAVE) but everyone is raving that she’s the best (when the damn series hasn’t even come out yet) 🙄🙄🙄
It’s not about how much an actress looks like Marilyn. It’s about how an actress looking like Marilyn is the last thing you think of. And Michelle did that. She’s a great actress. Sorry..
never. Ela não parece!
Ничего общего .Ни у кого ,никогда не будет того тёплого взгляда, той красоты и всего остального,чем обладали М.Монро
So mad Michelle Williams didn't win an Oscar for this!
She doesn't look like Marilyn at all. The movie would've been better if the actress looked like Marilyn Monroe.
I personally think some side shots of her as marilyn do look so much like her, and even as the camera pans her eyes she does. Maybe others don’t think that though. Maybe the producers and casting directors chose her because she was simply a good actress.
Maria Remedio I totally agree with you. 👍
Neither does Amy De Armas but most people are claiming she’s the best when the damn series isn’t even out yet
@@uravirginwhocantdrive1400 Yes, your right she is a good actress for playing her part she actually did pretty good!
@@mariaremedio1422 you clearly didn’t read my commment
She shouldve answered Chanel No 5.
Chanel is French
R/woooosh
just to compare her and ana...
Ana was more MM than Michelle will ever be. Michelle perfectly fitted into a bad commercial kitchen scene from the 50s. That had nothing to do mith MM.
Yay! TWA !
No disrespect to Michelle Williams because I have a great deal of respect for her, but they should have cast someone who actually LOOKS like Marilyn Monroe. This was dreadful and insulting.
Why on earth would it be insulting? You are perfectly entitled to have your own opinion, but 'insulting' is incredibly far-fetched if you ask me, and I'm sure I'm not the only person who would think that. She's a gorgeous woman who has done an incredible job portraying a complete icon. What more do you need? I'm sure anybody else who looked like her would only be half as good as an actor. You can't get the best of both worlds.
What Netflix is doing with Amy Armas is insulting
The Netflix film is insulting. This one is loads better and Michelle Williams is beautiful.
Michelle Williams is a far better actress than anyone you can come up with
🌊 SUZIE KENNEDY È LA MIGLIORE INTERPRETE DI MARILYN MONROE.È ANCHE VERO CHE UN MITO NON SI PUÒ DOPPIARE. 💃✳️
Стилист полина вахитова в своем блоге обсуждает похожую на монро девушку
I've never gotten why people think Michelle is this brilliant actress. Overrated.
33badyess I feel the same way... She looked nothing like marilyn- and doesn’t even sound like her-overrated for sure! There are so many actresses that are underrated and overlooked.
@Tut 2 years later after I wrote that comment and she’s still an overrated actress. Be mad about it, ape.
She can’t do her accent
Ew
The way you lot care about the attractiveness of a woman rather than the narrative of the story or how well they deliver as the role of Marilyn is shallow and insulting. "Blonde" was one of the most terrible portrayals of Marilyn and Hollywood should give her a rest and some peace. She's been exploited enough, and you lot are acting like rabid dogs.
worst portrayal of Marilyn ever.
Keep your rude thoughts and opinions to yourself
@@TheClassicMagda No, I'm going to share them with you and the rest of the corrupt world. The actress stinks !! She must bed down with the right people to get parts and praise.
Who is this dude playing Marilyn Monroe
It's Michelle Williams you fool
Such a bad caricature of Marilyn...
Blonde: hold my misogyny.
