      @taxid3rmy
      We called them M80's....
      In the 60's we had toy guns that shot plastic bullets, rubber bullets, even cannon balls that shot....
      What I had was a 6 shooter colt that shot a grey hard plastic bullet from a spring loaded brass shell that loaded into the cylinder aprox
      ( 22 cal) with a stick on cap on the back.
      It loaded like the colt SSA and when you pulled the trigger the hammer hit the back of the brass case, if a cap is there it goes bang and dislodged the hooks that held the bullet against the spring, launching the bullet down the barrel. ....
      If no cap is there, the bullet will still launch.
      It was the best cowboy cap gun a kid could have in the 60's.....
      It also put it's share of eyes out at 30 feet across the country....

      @Ivan Jakanov
      Oh you are so wrong on that one.....
      You can tell a lot from what a culture lets their children play with.....
      What is play ???
      It's one of the first forms of life instructions we get....
      For instance, in the more primitive cultures, hunting is a major skill a man needs to survive.
      So boys start out early learning to use the hunting weapons of their culture....
      They play fight with each other establishing a pecking order and learn to protect the group from outsiders. Because it's needed for the survival of the group who must compete with other groups for resources.
      The toys kids play with are are novice versions of what they will use as adults....
      Since the need to hunt isn't what it use to be, just as the need to fight off a hoard of marauders out to rob your food supply or hunting grounds, isn't what it was 200 years ago, so our culture has decided it's politically incorrect to teach our kids to fight, shoot, and hunt.....
      Skills that only 200 years ago were absolute requirements in most of the world at the time.....
      Although in some parts of the world, these skills are still just as relevant today as they were then....
      And even if you and the liberal elites don't like to admit it, some of these areas are closer than you care to think......
      Like Chicago, LA, and Washington DC...
      You tell me the difference between a rival street gang moving in on your neighbors and neighborhood and the band of Mongols sweeping down from the hills on your village 2000 years ago accept for the technology.....

    I had something like this when I was a kid. It was just the trigger assembly from this. Same manufacturer, I think. Used it to booby trap a donation box once in case anyone tried to steal from it. Never got to see it in action, though.

      Most of the Airsoft claymores suck TBH it's a very short range spring assisted flung handful of BBs. As far as I'm aware nobody makes a blank detonating claymore which is really odd given the amount of Blank Fire Grenades out there. ..you can get kits for the grenades to rig them as tripwires and there's the obvious camp tripwire traps available obviously. I have one of the 12g blank traps bolted to a wooden claymore using something similar to 5th ops camp alarms

    I have the same little spring loaded mechanism that I took out of a joke "exploding" lighter many years ago. That little thing is so much fun. First thing I did with it was put it under the lid of my grandmother's cigarette packet. Scared the shit out of her it did! Over the years I have pranked so many people with it. I once put it under the handset of a colleagues telephone and called him up from my desk. When it went bang he nearly had a heart attack and lost the plot, smashing the base of the phone repeatedly with the receiver, ripped the cord out the wall and threw the phone across the office. Telling me "You won't be doing that again will you!" I also wedge it in the kitchen cupboard door so it explodes when my wife goes to make her breakfast in the morning. Such great fun. With these kind of things it makes it hard to grow up.

Then again me being German we don´t really care that much about it (even though we turned a stamp that was meant to be a sign of shame into one of great quality). Of course it is MADE IN USA, it is after all, a claymore. It has been copied worldwide, but there is still only the original. I find this great and it is a toy. People freak-out when they see a full-size inert replica claymore, OD in color, with blasting cap circuit wires complete on a hitch mount on a pickup truck. Maybe the veteran license tag and the bumper sticker stating "This Veteran is Medicated for Your Protection" has something to do with the panic or concern. So I've heard.
