I just got these today but they are unusable since the white noise in the indoor and outdoor transparency modes is so loud. I didńt see the complaints about this on their kickstarter page, but this was apparently a problem two years ago. Definitely not a slight hiss on mine but a loud crackling, louder than I usually listen to music. In silent mode there is no white noise, but then I might just as well be using passive earplugs.

They're meant to be used in high noise environments.. not indoor settings . They're marketed as hearing protection which they do their job well. The music is just a nice to have..
Mine does not have a loud crackle.. but they do amplify wind noise.
The silent mode is actually active noise cancelling. Try using one powered on and one off you can see what I mean

    Thanks for the review!
Did you try how well it blocks impulse noise (pops, bangs etc) in transparency mode?

It was very good! I use it while drilling at the jobsite and I can hear speech between every impact.

Hello, I have similar earbuds from another brand (Earmore MT20) and have an issue with them. In transparency (normal and enhanced) they have a continuous kind of blank or amplification noise. I find this very disturbing and distracting. It only disappears in Silent mode. Do the Nitecore have this continuous blank noise? Thanks in advance.

Yes it does have the continued amplification noise. However after I don't really hear it if I have music playing. Then it disappears after awhile
