Awesome video once again. You made a really great point: most film is digitized nowadays for editing and then you do DI film outs which many believe in the community to be pretty much the same as just DCP. I agree that once you enter the digial realm and you DI film out your work that it's not really the way in which things were intended, but I'd definitely say in todays age I much rather prefer everything to be film project with DI prints than boring, I can get the same thing on 4k monitor DCP. It really depends on the feature and its condition. For instance, if you go on ebay and type, "35mm feature film" you'll see a ton of 35mm prints ranging anywhere from 70 bucks for odd reels to 1300 bucks for full length features. More recently, I saw a really good condition print Jaws sell for like 7-10k if I can remember correctly. you can mainly find 35mm and 16mm prints on ebay and sometimes on the 35mm forum but it's still very difficult to get your hands on a lot of the more sought out prints.
@@TweetBomb But if you really wanted a print, wouldn't it be technically possible to produce one? you would just have it printed on positive stock correct? or first to negative then positive. Obviously you would do this using a digital version of the film as the source. I'm not an expert on this I'm just speculating.
@@SoccerAddictttt its not as easy as that. generating a proper film print requires a precision process. The picture is the easy part. Generating a decent analog or digital soundtrack on to the film is a different story.

I learned how to run 35mm film about 5-6 years ago. Film is fun. This vid was good. Lots of nice details. Nice to see you surrounded by film stuff.
