Most amps/pedals/plugins will sound good in a edited mix. I think demos like this need to just have the unedited isolated guitar to really hear how good/bad they are.
I agree, I am just getting into learning how to use PlugIns and I get so confused/frustrated. I download every thing that are in the videos and set them up like they have them and it does not sound anything like what they play in the video. I now know that it has to do with the mix/mastering stage that makes it sound so solid.
@@insidethenine159 It's because the presets they provide are based on their setup. So guitar and DI-box configuration. I believe Andy James usses passive pickups, using the presets with active pickups requires some tweaking gain--wise.

You’re a absolutely beast at guitar! The tone is absolutely phenomenal. Andy James is a incredible Player and has sick tones. You’ve inspired me to pick up my guitar again. This is the first plug-in I want 😍🔥
The best part about these STL tones plugin suites is that they are true to the tone. I own a actual EVH 5150 III and there’s a VERY VERY slim difference in tone when I have them on the same settings. In the mix you couldn’t tell a difference. Amazing plugins. I use the Will Putney mainly for bass and Andy James for guitar along with GetGood drums. Sounds sick.

To the people who are thinking of buying this plugin: there's a fully functional 10-day trail you can easily download from STL. I can tell you this; I've used Amplitube, BIAS FX, TSE, Overloud THU and EZmix 2. And except for EZmix 2, I have never really had a 'wow'-effect from those amp sims. It always required post EQ and what not to get it to sound right. This STL Tonality Andy James plugin is wicked. Yeah, some presets can be harsh depending on your setup. I believe Andy James uses passive pickups, using active ones with his presets might make them a little too harsh. But you can always tweak the sound in any way you want. And the best thing might be, that you require minimal EQ in the mix. So you can make some killer demo's/songs without spending too much time mixing/mastering.

Stay Metal Ray I know it’s not nearly the same thing but I know the guy knows tones because I have his EZ Mix 2 pack and use his presets as a starting point on stuff all the time. And that’s old tech.

I mean it sounds great... just tell me why it’s worth getting this one in addition, so I feel better about it when explaining my girlfriend why I need another one. With all the good STL brings out, it’s becoming an actual thing. :)

If i wouldn’t have sold my tube amps already (because STL plugins sounded better), I would preorder the living shit out of that pedal as well.
Both bring the broots. Matter of taste and preference. The AJ also brings the new AJ revenant pedal model which is like basically buying another $200 pedal (guessing the price) as well as the band pass filter for 'lo-fi' effect in the post processing. So maybe that's enough justification to satisfy prying minds lol.

There's so many good plugins coming out. This one looks/sounds amazing. The NeuralDSP Archetype Nolly looks great and I still don't even own the Nameless Suite, NTS Suite, Archetype Plini, etc.

I want to buy an stl tones plugin because i think they are really good sounding and simple, do you think this one or the plini signature one is better for me? i am really bad at tweaking and finding the Tones i Want (high gain lead sounds with sustain, chuggy tones etc), this one seems to have more options but it seems more complicated compared to the plini one and i feel like i wouldnt understand shit.

Hearing this isolated would give more of an idea of the sound then hearing it in a full, produced mix IMO. Sounds good but I’d be interested to hear it isolated.

Hey buddy the will putney doesn’t have a 5150iii..? It has an OG 5150. Anyhow I love the evh amp more in the Andy James plugin way more. The bogner is my favorite in the will putney

You guys know if window 7,dual core 2.2 4gig ram 500 gig hard drive stock sound card will run any. Modern or for that matter any plug in's. My buddy had a older laptop for 70 bucks . Option to use a plug in vs my vypyr will decide if I buy this laptop of pass n save. Ty guys
