    Great video, but It is 11 pence and not 11 dimes, as the UK has never used dimes in its currency.

    Why was the defendant liable at all if Thornton had an accident? Can you describe how he got injured, thanks

      the exemption clause related to the car only and not the person thus if an accident happens inside shoe lane parking and if it was in anyway at fault then it would be liable

    Just reiterating what others have said about the slightly irritating point. d does not mean dime, It means pence. The d is from the Roman denarius.

    The d stands for the imperial coin of one pence

    Entertaining - but 7s 6d is seven shillings and six pence (the `d' stands for the Latin `denarii'), not seven shillings and six dimes.
    Dimes are a US coin, and we've never had them in the UK (and hopefully never will!)
