Abandoned Heritage Centre in Dinting: Visiting EVERY STATION on the Glossop Line

- This section of the famous Woodhead Route, the Glossop Line sees how much the line is a shadow of it's former glory as it now a busy commuter route between Manchester and Glossop or Hadfield.
The final few stations sees leaving the Greater Manchester and entering Derbyshire but also takes a look at Dinting Viaduct and the former Dinting Railway Centre which housed steam locomotives but Northern.... did pull a northern as a train for cancelled!

That engine shed looked interesting. Thank you for sharing Simon.
As I’ve mentioned I’ve been fascinated by the Manchester Hadfield Glossop route since I was a youngster, I had the opportunity to do this line in December 2021, they Had a pretty Christmas Tree at Glossop. So thanks for this series SoT, loved the Santa hat, Happy Christmas. 🎄
I remember that trip 😂 still I’ve enjoyed the video and the lines history
Broadbottom station does remind me of Billericay station with the deep cutting. Still Northern will inherit the 17 Class 323s from West Midlands Railway once the Class 730 Aventra trains have started service on the Cross-City Line.
Yes, Northern inherit all the life expired stock from the south, we are used to old trains.
I remember them new on NSE.
Lots of Class 323 action. I kind of want to visit Glossop myself, now.
Great video Simon
i visited Glossop back in 2021 when i was trying out the 323s at the time & its a lovely station & i also visited Dinting to see the viaduct bad thing was it was raining when i visited & i still remember your accident & i kept saying to myself be very carefull when i visit the viaduct as the hill was a bit steep but anyway brilliant vlog & happy christmas
Great video Cyber
Wishing you a very merry Christmas
if only it was still like this 😢
Great job Simon found out so much from your video and I will definitely plan a trip out to Glossop and Hadfield. Best wishes to you and your family for Christmas and the new Year 😊👍
It's really sad how they left that one piece of catenary after the end of the line.
Excellent series, Simon! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you as well!
Great video Simon!
Have a great Christmas and New Year.👍🙂
Thanks Ian, hope you have a great Christmas as well
Great video! Interesting little line to explore! Gotta say I do kinda like the 323's to a degree too!
Happy Christmas!
I could sit at Dinting all day and listen to 323s
Brilliant video Cyber, I remember the video where you had the Dinting trip lol. Nice to see that old shed is still there. A happy christmas to you as well. :)
That single road GCR engine shed would look fine relocated on today's GCR
Simon! "Love To Love You" by Caravan? A man of great taste, I see!
Great video, Simon. I’m amazed that nothing has happened with the derelict engine shed. Surely it should be restored?
Great video Simon! How do you make those map graphics - would love something like that for my videos!
Thank you, Learnt to make these after watching Gareth Dennis's Railnatter | Episode 195: How to draw transit maps in PowerPoint, the link here for that video.
