Dirt 3 is a superb off-road racer that adds some great new features and improves upon its predecessor at just about every opportunity.
this review is so much more detailed than ign's fairly standard review gamespot deserves more credit and appreciation. (:
got this bout 5 hours ago and its awsome. never seen a game as polished in a long time, a classic.
IGN's review made me doubt this game, however this review made me buy it :)

The review is great! DiRT 3 Is a masterpiece racing game! Amazing graphics, beautiful tracks, fun multiplayer, difficult events. And ofcourse DC Compunt, and legandary Audi Quattro s1
No. You don't need the wheel for any racing game. It's an optional choice. If they started making the racing wheel mandatory, there'd be a lot pissed off people. Although the racing wheel is fun, it requires a lot more skill. So, more power to you if your racing wheel skills are on par with the controller.
Also, has one of the best soundtracks for a Rally Game !

An absolutely brilliant game, everyone should pick up especially since they recently released the complete version, and finally completely killed off GFWL.

Windows Live was a service which required you to sign in and play games on it. Unless you sign in you could not save, it was a drm of sorts. It had crappy servers, GFWL died off eventually, but many games that still use GFWL cannot be played now unless cracked. This game no longer has that blight upon it and therefore can be played at your leisure.
And therefore the fact GFWL *died' is good for PC gamers.

All assists off, difficulty of 4 to start with, more rally stages, Group B and synchroniced Gymkhana drifting? Buying it right now and I demand you all to do the same =D

I'm not complaining, I ain't got no problems with commercials. But whenever I'm refreshing the page (streaming is sometimes faster when I refresh the page) there is the same commercial.
I'm grateful that youtube is free, even if it's with commercials.

I still remember spinning out so many times and getting frustrated online because of how much precise handling it required... a lot of people are saying Dirt 3 is better (with more Rally than races) so I'll try it out on my PC.
they should have keep the name Colin McRae on this dirt series to honor the man who made this series so popular.
Dirt 3 is easily the best racer I have ever played and I pray, I pray that there is a dirt 4 for next gen consoles :D dirt 3 was at times so beautiful that an untrained eye wouldn't know it's a game. Even driveclub has a tough job competing.

Dirt 3 + TM 2 = best racing games this year.
@Filleisdaman I reckon dirt is better. More challenging AI, Varied surfaces of track, More adjustable difficulty. But if u just want to race on road get NFS but I'd recommend DiRT to u.
so basically all codemaster has done for dirt 3 is take all the great bits from F1 2010 and put it in Dirt 3 still looks amazing though!
Now Dirt's will be something like Fifa.They should make Dirt when they add lot of new things, etc. not like now - longer career, new mp modes and upgraded graphics.They should add alot of new features, then relase new Dirt.

i havnt played a racing game since i was 12 not sure which grand turismo it was but im pretty happy my graphics card is giving me this game for free.
Not sure about the other platforms, but for PC, definitely yes.
Only thing I hate in Gamespot's videos are the annoying commercials before every video.
CodeMasters are the masters of racing games.
@ravenhousegaming What version of Forza 4 did you play? Forza 4 is a good game. The only styles of racing that I can think of that it doesn't have is F1 and Rally racing. The customization is the best available today. Ken Block's Fiesta in Dirt 3 looks cool and you can make the design in Forza 4. When it comes to console racing simulators and automotive playgrounds, there is little competition with Forza 4.
I cant choose between this awesome game and motorstorm apocalypse which is ridiculous. What would your choise be?
Get Dirt 2 and Dirt 3 as together you get all aspects of Rally.
love how that near the end of the review it talks about the noise of the engines and how much POWER you have at your diposal, then it cuts to a mini cooper! haha
why does it say xbox 360 on the title? the clips are both from xbox 360 and ps3.
@01iweir Ken Block bought the dirt series, so they wanted to include THE "GYMKHANA" .
Free with Gold next month! I probably wouldn't have bought this but this looks pretty fun. Looking forward to checking it out.
@TheLegacyofgaming Unless the graphics are broken because its a multi-platform release, which can happen.
This is why my 3 year old computer still runs the latest games great. The developers dont want to make them look too good on PC because its such a small market when compared to the consoles.
which card did you buy? I bought a radeon 6870 and it said it came with this but it expired dec 31 2011... -.-

i just miss the places, i mean there is only a few choice of maps, which is really disappointing.
they really could have done more on this game, but now they got something for DiRT 4
if you have amazon prime, this is game up for sale for $15.59.. which isn't bad. i'm not advertising, just saying.. thats a good price considering their listed price is $60 lol. not a bad price for the game if ur looking for the best bang for ur buck

@MrQi19 yes.....in fact alot of people still play this.In my opinion you should pick this up its loads of fun especially gymkhana, so this game should hold you until forza 4 hope this helps (:

@jackafa92 i hated grid sooo much :P does the car spin really easy if you drift? i think i will like this game... i love split screen with friends, and the zombie multiplayer mode sounds awesome!
@xWhiteoutProductions For everyone who is still getting ads on youtube videos, you must, must, must get the adblock pro add on for mozilla firefox 4. Like this so everyone can see it. It absolutely works, I haven't seen an ad on youtube for months.

@Revektion if u like games like need for speed or motorstorm (if u have a ps3) u will not like it at all. if u are more of a race simulator guy that likes stuff like gt 5 and that stuff u will love it. in this game once ur in last place in a race its impossible to get back to 1st place or even 3rd. im more of a action racing games like need for speed and motorstorm so the thing that i liked the most from this game was the racing trucks in Aspen, in the snow, that was pretty fun but the rest bs.
@jackafa92 the game is awesome! played it for about 3-4 hours, and i'm loving it :) i would never think of returning this game. i love everything in the game, and the car controls was a bit tricky at first, but i got used to it and now i'm beating high levels online ;) what exactly did you not like about it?

Finally a good solid rally game! Im going to buy it!
FORZA 4. Is incredible as far as graphics tuning in visuals. If you want the most realistic's racing simulator I highly suggest Forza 4 !! Forza 3 good also.

exactly HOW arcady/simulation is this game? I'm doubting between WRC 2 and Dirt 3. I didnt like WRC 1, cars felt way too heavy but Dirt 2 was way too arcady for me..
