Definitely thinking about this too much. lol

Possibly the best sausage/food I have had ever. It tastes almost like a bean and has such an amazing taste C: Seems like a lot of people hear the term "Pig blood" and turn it down. It's so worth eating, even knowing what it's made of.
hello, i'm from the black country here in england. our homemade pigs pudding is the best in the country. i have a local butcher who supplies mine. delicious.
I thought it would taste iron-y since it's blood. but from reading some of the comments apparently it doesn't. i thought about trying it since i LOVE LOVE LOVE liver, and when you think about it fried liver doesn't seem to be much more than congealed blood cake held together by a thin membrane.
I tried the Russian variant (the only one at my local deli), which is far more chunky and sliced like a cold cut. It tasted a bit like bacon, with an almost buttery texture. I liked it.
Black pudding is not the same when put in a nylon casing, they really should be put into a pigs intestine. After that they should be cooked in water then taken out and left to dry, the drying hardens the casing slightly and the blood congeals giving it the black colour. Its more natural that way and goes with the whole ethos of using every part of the animal.
I've always wanted to try black pudding, as well as other things like haggis, but they aren't as widely available in America. Actually I think haggis is illegal here because it's contains sheep lungs. Unless there is a kind of haggis without sheep lungs in it.

so here's the black pudding experience of an ex muslim: so the first time I tried it, I didn't know it's made of blood and especially pig's blood, I was disgusted by it, but then I remembered I actually liked it and now two slices of it are on my daily breakfast plate ;) I know I'm going to hell :D
Ansab Ali. Hell for that? Hell doesnt exist. it's lights out when we die. Then maybe we're born again. That makes tons more practical sense than heaven or hell. Heaven would be hell to me because I can't stand other people.
It was just sarcasm mate, my personal near death experience changed my mind actually... Like you said it was a complete blackout... There's nothing afterwards, live the way you want and eat the fuck you wanna eat 😄
With black pudding, (southern English type anyway) It simply tastes of all the herbs/spices which are thrown in during the making. The only hint that it contains blood is a ever so slight iron aftertaste - hard to realise considering your tastebuds are also going "Oh my! is that thyme?" ect.
In Mexico is usually made by chopping some onions, cilantro, serrano peppers and mixing them with the pig's blood. Add some salt and stuff the mixing into pig intestines for the casing. After boiling the sausage hang it to dry and off to the market.
I am adventurous when it comes to food...my mother is from the UK, and I have been there many times. Anyway I have tried black pudding, and I found it to be actually quite good.
In Trinidad and Tobago its filled in the pig's intestines that has been cleaned thoroughly. It's quite delicious and mostly eaten with hops bread which is a type of roll. Some pepper sauce is all that's needed.
In my country a former English colony in 20th Caribbean we don't use barley or flour, instead bread , fresh blood, liver, heart, kidney, chives, Spanish thyme and other fresh herbs and seasonings which is stuffed into intestines and cooked by boiling for a couple hours.
Do you eat at mc donalds... do you eat food at the grocery store... I can go on and on... ALOT of the foods that we eat come from methods OR things that we would naturally think are disgusting but most of the time, we dont know exactly how its made, what they put in it (even tho they put the ingredients on the label) and we enjoy it. Disgusting is just like a mind game... you like it until you hear things that YOU personally would think is disgusting then you dislike it... but you already liked it... what changed... nothing.... aka mind games. Just like ppl think its disgusting that ppl who handle their food without gloves even after washing and sanitizing their hands but yet themselves eat in the car (which you have already so many germs on your hands from the car, door handle, money handling, etc) Also that same applies to ppl who themselves touch whatever stuff and eat without thinking... oh i didnt like that guy handling my food after sanitizing but im handling my food WITHOUT sanitizing.... Germs are germs no matter if its your germs or not. Im getting alittle sidetrack... my point is the word and thought of disgusting is purely a mind game and shouldnt be used to dictate anyone (even tho majority of the ppl DO let it dictate their life)
Where I live at on Louisiana, we have something called "Boudin". Which, more or less, is the same thing (minus the pig blood). To me, it is NOT disgusting at all. Just some places make their versions more spicy than others.

I highly recommend it, get a bit, slice it half an inch thick, fry it in a medium hot pan till it firms up, about a minute or a minute and a half, Absolutely awesome stuff, especially on a full English!
You cant possibly actually be English mate, surely you're a yank with English heritage?
om gosh I wish my grandparents were alive still. watching this brought back memories of their awesome cooking # Mexican/Irish heritage # I miss my grandmas black pudding and roasted beef tongue sandwiches, 😋
In Sweden, we call this Blood pudding... And I love it
Frostlilja Jarlsten In Denmark its called "Blood sausage". :)
+Frostlilja Jarlsten in estonia verivorst
In Scotland we call it black pudding it's almost as good as bacon
you must be an incomer in Scotland we know it IS as good as bacon
Black pudding in a burger was an unexpectedly brilliant combo
gross! but i love hot dogs and haggis, so i should give it a shot sometime anyway :) that'll cure my anemia in any case!
Black and white pudding is gorgeous. In Ireland go for the snooth option out of your local butcher. Fry it lightly.
In the UK we sometimes call this jobby-cable, brown nose or dog delight. i love it!!
*****
Yes we do.
Your the reason people laugh at brits.
I've never heard someone make it sound like they're eating shite but it's just blak or blood puddin
In Germany slices of of pan fried blood sausage are called "dead grandma" by many kids who had to eat this.
bunglebonce I've been alive in England 25 years and generations of my family run a meat factory and not once have I heard it being called any of those. Strange.
It's really delicious! But (at least for me) you can't eat it alone. Grab a good beer, cook the black pudding and pour some olive oil on it. Cheers!
"In the United Kingdom, they call it black pudding." In America, I call it the NOPE.
fuck you yank
+john smith lol that's not even the region of America I'm from, you uneducated shit
+john smith you're so witty. How will I ever compete with such an esteemed intellectual who spends their Friday nights trolling comments on the How It's Made channel?
Matt C sad isn't it
+john smith so sad for you. Tell me, what's missing from your life?
This is NOT traditional black pudding. Go to the northern town of Bury to try a REAL black pudding
Bury black pudding is food of the gods.
I love Black Pudding and Haggis
Yum, my favourite. Anyway who hasn't tried a good black pudding is missing out.
It seems gross to you because it's out of your culture or norm. I haven't ever tried it and I think it sounds great.
Ash Gao it is great
I am a Scottish highlander and I couldn't live without black pudding, absolutely every Danish guy thinks it is disgusting and defuse to eat or even try it.
I've been eating nylon this whole time 😕
?
Sunriser it’s the black package around the black pudding
Really enjoyed this. Very interesting to see how its made. Ive loved black pudding for as long as i can remember. Delicious.
so here's the black pudding experience of an ex muslim: so the first time I tried it, I didn't know it's made of blood and especially pig's blood, I was disgusted by it, but then I remembered I actually liked it and now two slices of it are on my daily breakfast plate ;) I know I'm going to hell :D
Ansab Ali I've had many near death experiences from multiple car crashes to drug overdoses and I can tell you that your wrong.
@@OdinzEinherjar but you haven't changed, have you :D so what's your plan for the next near death experience then? :D
@@ansabali6583 I have changed,I've quit drinking after 30 years an alcoholic, I've quit drugs, and I now beleive
With black pudding, (southern English type anyway)
It simply tastes of all the herbs/spices which are thrown in during the making.
The only hint that it contains blood is a ever so slight iron aftertaste - hard to realise considering your tastebuds are also going "Oh my! is that thyme?" ect.
And in Sweden we call it blod pudding
This was absolutely my favorite when I was young. It's made and sold all over the world -- why is it almost impossible to find in the US?
Because it's gross. To be fair, we have gross food too. But meh.
Because Americans don't eat it.
they feel the blood is unsanitary, the same country that banned kinder eggs xD
"Not even its blood"? Especially its blood, yo! That shit is hella nutritious. Pretty much every culture closer to its food sources drinks it.
In Mexico is usually made by chopping some onions, cilantro, serrano peppers and mixing them with the pig's blood. Add some salt and stuff the mixing into pig intestines for the casing. After boiling the sausage hang it to dry and off to the market.
In Scotland it's more fry it than spice it
Even the how its made comment section is toxic :(
How so? I'm not trying to be mean btw! Im just really curious by the type of comments you saw on here! 🐰💓
I am adventurous when it comes to food...my mother is from the UK, and I have been there many times. Anyway I have tried black pudding, and I found it to be actually quite good.
Oh man...and some say hot-dogs are bad....
I actually thought this was about chocolate pudding until I watched it. Man was I thrown for a loop
3:13 reminds me of something
In Trinidad and Tobago its filled in the pig's intestines that has been cleaned thoroughly. It's quite delicious and mostly eaten with hops bread which is a type of roll. Some pepper sauce is all that's needed.
holy shit it really is made of blood...good to know
Still delicious though
food containing actual blood is very common in my country and I seriously don't know why people think it's gross, properly prepared it's delicious
Nothing holy about shit.

I live in the UK and have never tried black pudding. After watching this video, I never will.
Stornoway black pudding is 'bloody' amazing.
(I'll get me coat...)
In my country a former English colony in 20th Caribbean we don't use barley or flour, instead bread , fresh blood, liver, heart, kidney, chives, Spanish thyme and other fresh herbs and seasonings which is stuffed into intestines and cooked by boiling for a couple hours.
BLOD PUDDING!
-sweden
Now when a foreigner asks me what's in black pudding, I can give them a detailed description instead of saying "blood".
MMmMM! With syrup and fried 'taters...delish!
+slitor Syrup???... You must be an American.
jim jimjim No No, Norwegian... Not Maple Syrup you have on flapjacks(though that might work) ...more like clear Molasses. It works, try it.
Eat yer haggis laddies! It will give you power to fight fer yer freedom and yer people!
4:15 Is there a reason why the vacuum machine has to be THAT big? They barely used a quarter of the space there for the product.
Soul food. Taking stuff that would be thrown away and making something yummy out of it.
I haven't had black pudding in so long, think I'll go buy some tomorrow.
I was expecting and thought i clicked on the dessert pudding not disgusting meat and animal fat remains yuk! Still watched it though for curiosity :p
Im getting alittle sidetrack... my point is the word and thought of disgusting is purely a mind game and shouldnt be used to dictate anyone (even tho majority of the ppl DO let it dictate their life)
Deadganon I agree bet a bit of Black Pudding is healthier than the big mac you get at Mickey D's
Where I live at on Louisiana, we have something called "Boudin". Which, more or less, is the same thing (minus the pig blood). To me, it is NOT disgusting at all. Just some places make their versions more spicy than others.
equally delicious my ass i stayed in England for 9 years and i tried everywhere for a decent bit of black pudding English black pudding is fucking terrible however you just cant beat a bit of Scottish black pudding especially up in the highlands real fresh blood none of this powder shite its just a shame the only real black pudding you get nowadays is homemade
I'm from Stornoway, i have a few to chose from lol
You obviously didn't sample Bury black pudding, easily the best you can get without a doubt.
***** if its from England i doubt it but i will get my hands on some and give it a try
Sam Yorkshires black pudding is the best
Couldn't agree more ! English black pudding, just isn't the real deal !!!! Scottish is the best !!!!!
A good Irish fry isn't the same without some black pudding (Blood Sausage)
Can I be the first one to say Ewww >x
Us germans call it 'Blutwurst'. Blood sausage literally.
