Great tips. I retie my locs every 6 to 8 weeks. It all depends on my new growth. Never retighten your hair to the point it’s just laying on your scalp and yes, moisturize your locs before and during reties so the tool can glide through without any breakage. Locs are fairly low maintenance so by just having a routine and staple products will make your loc journey easy and enjoyable ❤️❤️❤️
I just got done seeing somebody on RUclips “retie” their locs with krazy glue. I will not be taking loc advice from her. I’ll keep coming to you for the best tips!!
These were some great tips! I have always retied my locs on dry hair..👀...i'd try spritzing my hair next time to see how I like it. Your 'go to' loc style is always a vibe. Love it!
You inspired me to go ahead and get micro locs! I installed my locs 2 weeks ago (2 strand twist) and I love it already. I was wondering when should I was wash my hair for the first time with micro locs? Thank you 💜
I just start my diy microlocks and its been 4 weeks now...i see some growth but should i wait an other 2 weeks? How long is enough to start a retie ? Please & Thanks 🫶🏿
Great tips! I'm a new DIY "microloc'r" (almost 1 year) and the dry retie tip is a must! Definitely heard that snap, crackle and pop a few too many times. 😂
I definitely do my retie on dry hair😂😬I just felt like I didn’t like doing it on wet hair and I have a spray bottle with a little oil that I spray on my hair every 1-2 days like I’m a plant
I have definitely connected locs while tired and rushing! 😫 nightmare to undo! I’ve also made the mistake of not braiding and banding long enough. I experienced so much bunching that I HAD to fix. It was not cute at all.
Unfortunately for my son I learned all this with his locs. Went too long to retie and he had so many locs married at the roots. It was a painful process for him. I have done his retie while his hair was dry 🤦🏾♀️. Again, a painful process for him. Also did them too tight before and ended up losing a loc or two because it was just too painful and i cut it. So through trial and error with him I'm hoping I do better with my own.
I'm three years into my sisterlocs and I have always gone every 4 weeks. My ends are getting thin and I'm not sure why going to push my retie to 6 weeks. I go to a Certify location you would think she had some thoughts. 🤦🏾♀️🤷🏽♀️
Hi, Gorgeous! I go 8-12 weeks and my hair grows avearge. My goal is to retie only 4-6 times s year. I have very strong, beautiful locs...(not bragging). 😬🖤❤🖤❤🖤🖤🤭
I get my reties every 6 weeks now, but I definitely understand tip #5 ...its already confusing to self retie (to me), so if I'm frustrated, I'm definitely going to do damage to my hair🤦🏾♀️ thanks for these tips, Tykara❤❤❤
Thank you for sharing, and you and your locs are beautiful! I've had my microlocs for 4 months and my retie schedule has been every 8 weeks. I'm tender-headed and I wonder should if I should stretch out my retie to 10 weeks. Can you tell me how many inches of new growth you should have in between reties? I have about 1-inch growth at 8 weeks. Should I have 2 inches new growth between reties?
I’ve been dealing with frizziness at the top even after reties. I think it’s just the texture of that section. My back left side is long and the right side has shrinkage…😩🥴 But I’m 3months in and I still love it. Thanks for the videos💜 #DIYMicroLocs
I really need these tips cos I'm having to go to a loctician next week to fix the mess I've made 😩. Thank you. Your hair is always lovely but this isn't my favourite look on you - maybe if the fringe (I think you guys calls it bangs) was more even? ❤
Heey gal, the style is a look! I do my reties around 6wks or so, but i recently had to repair the front edges inbetween the retie, reason being alot of 'standing' baby hairs that dont seem to get into the edge locs. I really had to fix them in (not all baby hair, just some that are longer) coz they seem to grow far away from those locs (and they are too tiny to have their own loc). It's been so irritating but I managed! Just needed a neater look at the front coz honestly, you finish your retie and you still look like you haven't done anything! Does anyone else suffer from this? The other thing is I've been using water during my reties except for the last retie..and quite frankly it went way faster. Ofcos there's some crackling here and there due to mistakes and whatnot but its worked for me and I wont be using it as often as I used to. I think each person knowing how their hair is should choose whether to use it or not. Some say don't use water coz when u do, you can overtighten ur hair since it has become more manipulative, others say use water to manipulate. To each their own. If any works for you, well then. FYI, I didnt have alot of parting to do. I think having too much growth that requires constant parting may force u to use water to easen your process. (sorry for the essay :-D)
Yes my reties are like that. It still looks really frizzy and like I haven't done anything but I can tell when I run my hands through my locs that they are retightened. I think sometimes I do my reties better than others because one time my mom even noticed I had retightened my hair. It's usually sisterlockers that I see retightening their hair dry and DIY microlocers that retighten wet. I've always done it wet but I'm here for anything that makes a retightening go faster.
The updo is very sophisticated and draws attention for all the right reasons!😍
Thank you 😊
Please do a tutorial on the updo. It's super cute!!

Say WHAT?!
I saw that video😳 it was unbelievable bc I really thought it was clickbait😭💀
I saw that!! There were actually ppl co-signing that mess! To each their own but not I!
What??? I’ve never heard of that👀 Thank you♥️
I saw that too. Her channel is about being locd and lazy. If she likes it, I love it. But, I would not do it or recommend it.
That style is gorgeous on you. You look ravishing!! Thanks for the tips - very useful! I retie every 7 - 8 weeks.
Thank you

@@TyKaraAnn You're welcome!
I usually go about 6-7 weeks my hair grows really fast in certain areas so I might retie those areas first before fully retightening my whole head.
Thanks for sharing!!

Your tips were awesome! I knew this. But with someone reminding you, it keeps Me reminded of twist to go while doing my own locks ! Thanks so much!

Same here😂
How long should you braid and band?
@@t.1103 I wish I would have done it for at least a year or at least braided it after the wash to keep the loc from over swelling

I'm not exactly sure, recently I have not been going past 7 weeks for a retie

I love your lip combo! Love to see a video on how you do it.
Thank you! I’ll do a lil tutorial for it💄
I think your hair looks good. I'm thinking of starting my locos again after combing them out due to postpartum shedding.

My reties are consistently every 6 weeks, my loctician don't play!
