I agree with the music critic who wrote the following "And yes. Alison Krauss could sing a duet with a chainsaw, and she would still win a Grammy. She's that good." He voice is the gift we can all cherish.
The harmonies of Alison and the accompanist are truly what I imagine angels sound like. The addition of the beautiful piano and cello create the haunting background for this heartbreaking song.
I love this song! I used to watch Cold Mountain just to hear this very beautiful song and very beautiful harmonies ! I like the lyrics there very honest . ♥️
RIGHT HERE! RIGHT HERE! RIGHT HERE! LOVE IT! I can barely hear it without tearing up, and yet I want to hear it again. I've seen the movie NUMEROUS times and read the book and this song 100% wraps it up. The only thing that's missing is Renee Z's fabulous performance.
All I can say is thank God for recordings of Alison's past! What she is doing NOW is tearing her talent down more and more and some day she will snap out of it!
Hauntingly beautiful. It invokes the pain of mans' bad decisions that draw them into war and the heartache of the women left behind to suffer his fate. Love and loss. Inman made it all the way back to his woman only to be killed by a skip tracer.
Alison Krause has such an angelic voice and the harmonies here is breath taking. Have you guys heard her sing Led Zeppelin, with Robert Plant? Unbealivable.

This woman has the most beautiful voice I have ever heard. When I go to heaven, this is the voice I want to hear.

The goose bumps are so big, they actually hurt....
This song is very sad but also beautiful and I love the song I'm crying
Oh god, I love this song! I even like the cello part, it’s totally f***ing gorgeous.
Voice of an angel ❤
That is what a 27 time Grammy winner sounds like.
"We'll rise above the scarlett tide, that trickles down through the mountains...and separates the widow from the bride."

Hearing this song after watching that movie just breaks open the dam.
This is how it sounds when the angels are singing and praising Our Lord in heaven in constant.🙌 it is not?
What a serene voice, so want to have her sing this before bed every night for the rest of my life!!!!!!

Alison never lip synchs - she's that good. Go watch her other videos like her singing "Ghost in this house" or any other really
Beautiful song
Primera vez que la escucho, en una película, canta con el alma!
Alison Krauss singt hier die meiner Meinung nach Beste Version des Costello Hits
how did this not win
That is Cheryl White from the bluegrass group, The White's.
Gorgeous voice
alison is as beautiful as it gets
Lovely Costello song.
Watch 2 minutes of Cold Mountain and hear 2 notes of her voice and it's like, "That's Alison Krauss."

Her name is Alison Krauss. She's an angel.
Cheryl White (The Whites)
Who's that singing with her?
John Thomason Cheryl White I believe
Please what concert is this? And is on DVD?
I think this is from the Royce Hall special "The Words and Music of Cold Mountain." I've only ever seen it on the two-disc set of "Cold Mountain."
Feetie39 it is 2nd disc
Is it Cheryl or Sharon White accompanying?
cheryl
I wonder how many people have seen kevinrocks1's comment and thought, "Wow, what an idiot!".
its not lip-synch because she makes a mistake in the lyrics
I think the video just doesn't match the singing - don't think it's a lip synch.
Sadly THIS Alison Krauss is gone. She has sold out Robert Plant. She is wasting her fabulous voice for such trash.
