I have XS400 engine 14V I think, and after watching your videos on 650 engine I fill confident I could try refreshing it and attaching it to something. I "just" need frame. Keep up the good work and keep them coming.
I'll check out one I have and back to you. I'll be doing a Q&A video this week so it will be out next Sunday. So I'll try to answer your question I hope that will work for you.
@@outlaw86custom much appreciated my friend. Im doing a total engine rebuild and chop on my xs650 and you videos are a great help. Keep up the great work.
@@davidrayner9832 well basically you're going from a 34 or 35 mm fork to a 39 mm fork diameter which if you do a lot of off-road like I do it does seem to help. Now I've seen a lot of excesses made into dual spores using an inverted front end which I didn't have around in the shop so that's why I did the Sportster. But guys that build chopper access 650s want to use the Harley front ends that are available for the chopper look. I hope that answers some of your question. Thanks for watching Mr Miyagi out.

Hell yeah have fun!
I like your channel!
Thanks for watching
Have you checked the front wheel yet? Looking forward to seeing how well that goes adapting it.
Not yet went Fly fishing instead.
Could I do the same thing with my 1980 Yamaha XJ 750 Maxim
Sorry I was so slow getting back to you but I don't see why not you just have to make a new stem for the Sportster triple trees. Thanks for watching
You are very welcome thanks
What would be the best way to run an all stock 83 shovel front end on my xs650?
Good question but my question to you is is it a wide glide front end or a narrow ? thanks again for the question
Narrow.

The only thing that"s not clear to me is why!
Because I had one and a lot of people want to go that way...
@@outlaw86custom Yes but why do they want it? If it's just looks then that's personal taste but are they somehow better than XS forks and if so, how?

@@davidrayner9832 because it opens up a lot of options for brakes as well as the ability to easily run a 21” front wheel
