Back in the day of 1997 I had no home, an uncomfortable place to stay and heart. I walked with walkman in hand to a baseball field, this jam played and I danced fulfilled with my low top Nike's on and this song remains a happy memory, "Thanx Nuno".
It's a mixture of bands. There is Nuno Bettencourt who is singing and he is from Extreme and DramaGods, But then there is also Paul Gilbert playing guitar and he is from Racer X and Mr. Big.
I know alot about paul gilbert.. I've been playing guitar since I was 13..I'm 26 now. I went through my vai/satriani cheeeese phase.. now thankfully I'm out the other side unscathed. I don't care how fast he can shred... he can't write a decent song to save his life.. and thats why nuno is waaaaay better!!.. funkydomotherfosmyth!!
@gtrslinger What are you talkin' about man? His picking is beast, his riffs are the funkiest, most epic riffs of all. Nuno's my hero! He's the one that got me into guitar. Do you even play guitar man? Cause I bet I could show you up if you do, and I'm 12.
with respect, you would probably realize just how much of a ridiculously legendary guitar player he is if you opened up your mind a little bit. just because he may not be well known doesn't mean he's missing the talent..
Hey Sara, i agree those 3 first extreme albums are the best but you still get great songs and incredible rifts from his other projects. About your critics on Dizkneelande, Why dont you upload some of your own stuff?
Nuno is huge. He has a superb touch, unique style, unrivalled percussive picking chops, flashy technique and a tremendous musicality. you are just stickin' with the most popular guitarists out there, lacking any real knowledge of the matter. If any of the living ones in your list read your comments, you would be covered in spit by every single one of 'em, most of the flegm being definitely May's. The only thing you win here is the Golden Douchebag. That must look good on your mantelpiece.
Well what do you know about that? I happen to like Extreme (not all of it) so what? I am an enormous Jimi Hendrix fan and I love led Zeppelin, Van Halen, U2(sometimes. Want to call them shitty as well? What music do you like then?
I am only messing with you. I don't like Nuno or Extreme but understand why you might - to each his own. I like the rest of the stuff you mentioned - but if you want to hear some really good guitar playing you should listen to some Django.
maybe legendary is the wrong word because he isnt that recognized but maybe i like him so much because some of his influences do include jimmy page and evh etc.. i dont know i like him and thats my opinion.. also even if he does play for rhianna doesnt mean it takes away from his talent .. if he's doing what he loves so be it
...What? If you knew anything about Paul Gilbert, you'd know that among guitarists he is one of the most respected. He's also hit a shredding speed of 21 notes per second. And he was Buckethead's teacher. lern teh fax pl0x?
Bettencourt is wearing dye in his hair. My knowledge of the human anatomy is somewhat limited, yet i have the necessary understanding of the subject to know that Nuno Bettencourt is not a 15 year old girl. This brings me back to my original point of... Why is he wearing hair dye? If your a bloke it's wankerishness and if your a woman it's pure lying. Preach.
Appreciate the effort the person made in putting this up, but the audio quality here is awful. Nuno has got a decent voice, and you can tell it on his own stuff or with Extreme.
If this sounded as i assume it is intended (cleaner vocals and flashier solo) it would be more impressive, so the impressive thing about this song is more the concept than the execution, which I belive was less than adequate. not that i have the right to criticise Bettencourt.
-??? You didn't understand a word I wrote, didn't you? What are you, 7? -Hendrix is still popular? Wooow, that's new to me! Thanks for the heads up! -quote: "If he was so "amazing" and "great" why isn't he more sucessful than he is?" This proves my theory about your age. You're definitely 7, maybe 8. Greatness is measured by popularity. Hahaha, you're a laugh. Please, go on embarassing yourself. Winner my ass!
Dude, I think it's cool that you put these videos up, but you really need to work on whatever's happening with the sound quality. This is the 2nd one I've seen that has that shitty, "compressed flanger" sound to it.
You have obviously never had tinnitus. Players like Paul Gilbert, Zakk Wylde, and Eric Johnson damaged their hearing PERMANENTLY from playing too loud. It is irreversible, and NEVER heals. I'm sure you think that losing your hearing is just things getting softer and people have to yell at you, but you're wrong. Tinnitus is permanent, loud ringing, all the time, even in your sleep (if you can sleep with that noise in your head).
ah ah .. then legendary means having millions ov view on you tube? frankly i do agree that Vh , handrix , malmsteen , sach are legends.. for what is about wylde, and yet petrucci.. i think they were really good to sell themselves as marketing icons. In particular i think petrucci' s playing has nothing unique , yet hes not invented anything. Yet he is totally boring to watch. From this point of view nuno has a unique sound yet style.
that constant phaser in the back of the mix has got to go. his mic technique isn't all that great either -- pretty much, this sounds like a great guitarist trying his hand at singing... :P
First, define cheese in this situation. I'm thinking of dairy products, but I assume that is not what you are talking about. Second, he can write a decent song. Listen to 'Waste of Time' Third, Wow, you're 26? Might want to change the way you talk, you sound like a 12 year old.
Take off your fan boy glasses and enter the real world. HE'S NOT LEGENDARY. Not even close, he's not that "great". I can play but he's nothing special. Compared to "real" legendary guitarist such as Les Paul, EVH, Hendrix, Vai, Satch, Petrucci, Randy Rhoads, Zakk Wylde, Dimebag Darrel, SRV, Eric Johnson, Yngwie , etc....he doesn't even come to mind. He's not even barely known and his ego is legendary. Plus he plays for RHIANNA, how fucking lame can you get.
Back in the day of 1997 I had no home, an uncomfortable place to stay and heart. I walked with walkman in hand to a baseball field, this jam played and I danced fulfilled with my low top Nike's on and this song remains a happy memory, "Thanx Nuno".
No one can still hold a candle to him!
Nuno scatting made my day.
NUNO come back, come back where ever you are!!!
It's a mixture of bands. There is Nuno Bettencourt who is singing and he is from Extreme and DramaGods, But then there is also Paul Gilbert playing guitar and he is from Racer X and Mr. Big.
Love Nuno!
Yeah, lest we forget, the more convoluted the song, the more notes there are in a song, the better it is...yeah, way to go.....
YO....Wow...Thats John Paul Jones on bass!!! Way cool.
it's on his own cd shizophonic which is amazing!!
love it
did he just give up on words, lol
love it
oh god! 3:31 is so awsome! and its very badass when hes singing what hes playing:)
Get lost . Nuno is awesome, just saw him and he's brilliant as a matter of fact and quite a good singer as well.
Gostei do solo de teclado, muito bom.
that bassist is a fucking genius.
Agreed!
I know alot about paul gilbert.. I've been playing guitar since I was 13..I'm 26 now.

i found it a while back lol so it is a bit late but i appreciate the response none the less
with respect, you would probably realize just how much of a ridiculously legendary guitar player he is if you opened up your mind a little bit. just because he may not be well known doesn't mean he's missing the talent..

I think he can sing great.
and his music is the best.
I love him
i want to see Viking Kong!!
Anyone posts it please.
Yeah
I guess so......
Thanks
i have this dvd and it sounds way better there. somethings wrong here.
Hey Sara, i agree those 3 first extreme albums are the best but you still get great songs and incredible rifts from his other projects.
About your critics on Dizkneelande, Why dont you upload some of your own stuff?
well...pg is my favourite...but nuno sings the same things he plays!!
the things could be studied before...ok...but It's difficult! amazing... 5 stars
Steve Hackett???
What I see is one John Paul Jones there!
When was this ? yeah his vouice sounds rough here...he doesn't sound bad on his solo record though
farmcandle - Why do you cuss Nunemiah Bettencourt?

@bruceblade1969
Damn that is JPJ! Cool. although the performance was iffy.
Well what do you know about that? I happen to like Extreme (not all of it) so what? I am an enormous Jimi Hendrix fan and I love led Zeppelin, Van Halen, U2(sometimes. Want to call them shitty as well? What music do you like then?
No! Meant to put that here! Anyway, I agree! I'm a dumbass!
I am only messing with you. I don't like Nuno or Extreme but understand why you might - to each his own. I like the rest of the stuff you mentioned - but if you want to hear some really good guitar playing you should listen to some Django.

What relevance does that have to anything?
...What?
If you knew anything about Paul Gilbert, you'd know that among guitarists he is one of the most respected. He's also hit a shredding speed of 21 notes per second. And he was Buckethead's teacher.

@gtrslinger who doesn't need money? all artists are working on every possible way just to earn. Be realistic!
lol
they're ear defenders not headphones
Who is Pablo????????
Nuno is the best
Appreciate the effort the person made in putting this up, but the audio quality here is awful.
Nuno has got a decent voice, and you can tell it on his own stuff or with Extreme.

he has a wonderful voice, more than words is proof of that. He may have been tired or whatever, or maybe a little off that night. dissapointing solo.
trouble is, his guitar is slung too low, making it harder to play and he needs a vocalist.
schizophonic was good, but i can't ever get through more than 5 or 6 tracks because it gets a bit boring.
-??? You didn't understand a word I wrote, didn't you? What are you, 7?
-Hendrix is still popular? Wooow, that's new to me! Thanks for the heads up!

Why do all of his video's sound qualities make my ears hurt? He's awesome but I can't stand listening to his videos.
First, define cheese in this situation. I'm thinking of dairy products, but I assume that is not what you are talking about.
Second, he can write a decent song. Listen to 'Waste of Time'
Third, Wow, you're 26? Might want to change the way you talk, you sound like a 12 year old.
pablo gilberto can sing better
Nuno sucks with out Extreme lol
no one loves playing for Rhianna. He's needs the money and has no musical staying power.
Take off your fan boy glasses and enter the real world. HE'S NOT LEGENDARY. Not even close, he's not that "great". I can play but he's nothing special. Man - and here I thought Gary Cherone was a shitty singer. Nuno should stick to guitar - or better yet - just get a job at McDonalds.
Haha the vocal/guitar solo sucked lol.
