I don't believe they would just casually announce "we're gonna talk about volume 10" on their rwby panel description, they would probably want it to be a big surprise during the panel, right? I feel like that's a standard panel thing to have a couple surprises here and there. But as you said, there hasn't been any external signs that vol 10 is being worked on or even greenlit yet, so who knows.
Yup, that's mostly it. You're right that this is an unprecedented situation, so the panel description isn't everything. But there's just not enough to go by otherwise rn.
I hope people temper their expectations going in to RTX. There’s gonna be a lot of ::jingles keys:: “Ooh, look over here!” until they have something definitive to announce one way or the other, and that’s fine, especially considering the state of WB/Discovery’s umbrella right now. Anticipating a bunch of merch, some kind of video game collaboration (perhaps whispers of a full game, but I’m putting super low odds on that for now), tease for a future book, reminders that the DC RWBY comics are still a thing, some super vague “We’re teaming up with [company] but can’t tell you why ;}" kinda thing, two sentences about not having anything to announce regarding subsequent Ice Queendom-esque projects (would love to see Shaft do more RWBY stuff ftr), more merch, and a general CTA about telling the C-suite we want volume 10. Always happy to be wrong, though. Quietly hopeful. I’d put $20 on not hearing anything definitive re: V10, yea or nay, before next year.
The show needs at minimum two more volumes, 10 and 11, just to get the major story arcs completed to a satisfactory ending. I hope they stay true to what Monty envisioned and true to the story they've been telling. I'm afraid they won't get the time or budget they need or it will just sit in limbo for years at a time between volumes. I'm afraid they'll be pressured into changing it into something stupid by a bunch of corporate types who don't understand the show. I hope that doesn't happen.
I wouldn't be surprised if we have to wait for a year or 2 for Vol. 10 and future volumes to be released; like any anime or show that even gets or greenlits for a 2nd season or more.
Not even a chance RWBY gets an vol 11 or 12. RWBY volume 10 is going to be last one (if it doesn't get cancelled before then). RWBY isn't profitable enough. CRWBY's lights won't stay on for another 6-8 years it would take to finish a volume 12.
I feel like Volume10 will be very unique animation-wise given all the new people being hired. Hopefully, they don't try to rush production too much, so we can get at least as much of a quality experience as Volume9. The show deserves to have a proper conclusion, so I hope Volume10 is greenlit soon.
I hope we get volume 10, like just to finish the show maybe. Becuse volume 9 kinda ends weird like they get home but how mutch time has it been? And what happened to Oswald or the rest of them? Also what's happening with Salem? I'd just like some questions anwsered

Yup, Volume 10 has been outlined already, but even being written wouldn't guarantee a green light. Nomad of Nowhere Season 2 was written (another RT Animation show) but it was never greenlit. Kiersi Burkhart actually helped write that before she helped write for RWBY.

Well that's the thing. Roosterteeth as a company is failing. When RWBY ends that'll probably be the end of the company. And there is serious question if they have the money to finish RWBY.
Some of the problem, if not a big part of the problem, always comes down to money and the lack of it or the loss of it. Producing a single episode costs a LOT of money. Producing an entire season with all the bells and whistles and fight action folks want costs an ENORMOUS amount of money. RT has to be able to recoup that investment and show a profit. They aren't making the show purely for the sake of Monty Oum's legacy. It HAS to make money. Period. Folks who record episodes and post them on RUclips--even if they get taken down, a certain number of people will watch it because it's free. That's why they sell merch--blu rays, dvd's and every sort and kind of bric-a-brac they can tie RWBY into. So they can make money. This is how the world works. They make money, they make more volumes and the volumes get better and better. If they don't make money, they don't make the show--the backers who hold the GREENLIGHT button don't press it because their investment won't make any returns, so RT has to lay people off. It's just the way it is, folks. Maybe someone (not me) could set up a crowd funding page to help fund more volumes. Seems to me that if folks want more RWBY, it's time to put your money where your mouth is and make it happen somehow.
