I worked at a bong Factory that's right bong Factory in Santa Monica 1976 77 78 and this band played for a party we had and all the Z-Boys Dogtown skaters showed up and different colored tuxedos and it's really a shame there's no footage from that night
I saw these cats in the Spring of 1980 when they jammed at the Starwood. Blew my fricken socks off! I'll never forget the song they opened up with. It was called Skin and Bones and the drummer had long hair and was wearing a black speedo... that was it. The Starwood Club was located on the northwest corner of SM Blvd and Crescent Heights in West Hollywood. It's been long since torn down and is a retail center.
These guys, Quiet Riot (Randy era), Smile, were the shit on the scene. The best musicians around at the time! Such a great time to be a kid watching it all !
Thanks for reminding me of that song . They played a party for us as well and we went down to Orange County to see them play one time yes we were very big fans we were up in Santa Monica
did a shit load of lighting gigs with this band, among many other local bands, they are still to this day like a second family to me and my little bother...
I have been trying to find you for years Brian! Do you remember me? My name was Sandy Thabet and you mailed me a CD of A La Carte from the Golden Bear :) The last time I talked to you, you had invited me to reunion A La Carte was doing. I was going to bring Stephen Quadros with me from SNOW. I am now married and my name is Sandy Ellison. Please look me up on Face Book so we can reconnect! Hope all is well! Sandy
One of the best nights of my life was watching them at the Starwood. But I was pretty sure that drummer had to be on speed that night and I felt bad as I did not think he could last long at the rate he was going. Watching this video, maybe he was just fast. But they were awesome; one of the best bands I've ever seen.
Just watched a video where George Lynch of Dokken mentioned that these guys were his favorite band in L.A. in the late `70's. George had good taste!
I did the same thing. I was watching Lynch who mentioned this band. I think they sort of suck. LOL. too funny..
Haha! Jus' did the same thing. The wonders of youtube. :-D
@@charles95880 Painfully dated even in 1980
@@SteveBello I have to agree with that. I like this song a lot, and I think it could’ve gotten them a deal in, say, 1973-74.

Nice compliments. Thank you all.
I was there from '78 to '84, standing front row at every show singing along. And I STILL love them! LOML

You forgot snow with Carlos cavaso on guitar
Saw them live at the Starwood in the late 70's. Sounded like a LA version of ZZ Top. Great live band and great times.
In 79 on Halloween they played at a party in my best friend's back yard...
Long Live Skin and Bones!

That dude was a monster guitar player

I have never heard of this band before today. I love being turned on to new stuff no matter how late to the party I am :)
Saw them around LA in the early 80's. Awesome band. Great guitar player!!! Gotta love the drummer's speedo!!!

You know I thought seeing Roy Wood in girl makeup with a beard was weird but seeing a guy with mustache in girl makeup is even weirder.
This band should have been huge. But drugs really held these guys down. But their shows were amazing.

Brian... I thought you were going to be a dentist??
Bad chemistry there was a 100s of bands in America like this that's why they didn't get real big
