    This video is amazing its working ! if u have a problem and u cant change it to .bat ! maybe i have your extension hidden ! to show it ! go to computer ..Organize ( at the top bar to the left ) then Folder and search option Then View ( 2nd one in the bar top .. ) then uncheck on Hide extensions for known types files .. then u will find the text changed to .txt and so on with every thing on your computer ! now change the text for locked.bat and remove the txt ! hope u had a problem like that u can now do it :) good luck

    To the people moaning about the edit exploit, you gotta remember not everyone's techsavvy and probably wont think to click edit. Plus, if you put your password in lower-case, it blends it pretty well.
    Thanks for the video, man. It was a great help!

    This isn't very secure cause you can still right click on the .bat file > open as notepad and check the password.

    If an "intruder" would just change the file back to text, couldn't he just see what a password is and then change it back to .bat and access the folder?

      when you copy the coding into the text doc, instead of saving and changing the name in the folder, do a save as and type "locket.bat" in file name box and underneath there with be a "save as type" and change that to all files. And wah lah, your problem is fixed.

    @Overreaction, try changing the folder view. If you are running Windows 7 do this, open any folder, then in the upper right portion you will see the 'Organize'>Folder and search option>View> uncheck the Hide Extensions for known files. After that, you will see the extension of all the files you have. Hope it helps.

    actually you can, open a folder, go to folder- and search options, display, and then turn off: hide file extentions for common known files
    (it could be named a bit different because thats just a translation i made from my language.)

    To Throw people off even more you can change the wording that appears in the command box.
    Ex1: 7 lines down where it says "Are you sure you want to lock the folder(Y/N)" You could change the text to "Are you sure you want to format your hard drive(Y/N)" when you hit "Y" it will only lock your file.
    Ex2: 21 lines down where it says "Enter password to unlock folder" You could change the text to "Enter password to destroy the hard drive". when you enter your password it will only unlock the file

  • @santsuma
    @santsuma 11 лет назад

    Tip 2:
    Rename the "Locker.bat" with another word... NOT "Locker", duh...
    Change the extension to something else, like EXE or COM.
    Remember the name! Write it under your bed or something.
    You will know that before running the bat file you have to change the extension back to BAT.
    Fill the folder where your BAT file is with LOTS of stupid stuff, pics, folders, sub folders, etc. It is better to hide a secret book in a shelf with hundreds of other books than in an empty shelf, isn't it?

  • @santsuma
    @santsuma 11 лет назад

    Right. To solve that:
    Change the ext. of "Locker.bat" to something else with EXE or COM extension. REMEMBER which name you chose.
    If your smart bro double click on it nothing will happen...plus he will be afraid to click on an EXE or COM file, right?
    But IF you suspect he MIGHT open it with EDIT:
    Fill the folder with many folders, sub folders, irrelevant files, lots of stuff.
    Only YOU know that in that big mix there is a file called "Something.exe" that should be renamed to .BAT to run...

    Guys I found the problem why when after you saved the text document, and tries to open it, it just simply open up the document. After you typed in your pass, you click "file" and click "Save as" and go to the folder you wanted it to be, named it whatever but needs to have .bat at the end like "badass.bat". Under the renaming, you see "Text Documents (*txt)", change that to "All Files" and save. Then just follow the rest of the steps.

  • @fckingkim
    @fckingkim 10 лет назад

    Lock the locket.bat file by right clicking and selecting the "Compress and email..." option, click the "Advanced" tab and then the "Set password..." button. Enter a password and click okay. You can now delete the locket.bat file as a copy of it will be in the new ".rar" folder and someone will be required to have a password to access it. I don't know if this helps but let me know what you think about it.

  • @Loukgob

    This is not secure at all. When you rename the folder back to .txt, the code from this video is visible again. So any one can get the password and rename the folder back to .bat, and they can get the content.
