Hey there! I applied to HKU (not CUHK) this year. If you're wondering about when invitations are sent, I would say it's pretty random, but just within the time frame of November to January if you applied early. A friend applied early last year, and she got her invitations mid-December. I also applied early, but I got my invitations (only the individual interview) just a few hours back, i.e. late November.

So it was pretty clear to me that it will be a group interview as it specified "group discussion". My Biomed individual interview didn't mention explicitly that it will be an individual interview, but the title of the email did specify that it was for "HKU BBiomedSc". Because as far as I know for me and my friends, our group interviews all came before our individual interviews. Answering your questions: 1. I received an invitation to my group interview on November 25th 2020, and the actual interview took place on December 5th 2020. For my individual interview, I received the invitation on December 14th 2020, and the actual interview took place on December 18th, 2020. 2. I submitted my application before November 18th (specifically on November 16th), so I was being considered for advanced standing as well. I'm not sure what you mean by the "main round". Considering that I was being considered for advanced standing I know that I am one of the earlier batch. 3. I'm not sure that I can directly answer your last question, as I'm not part of the HKU administration team. I can only say that I received an email directly after I've submitted my application, and that I received the invitation to the general admissions interview nine days after I sent out my application. Let me know if you have any other questions I'd be happy to answer them :D

Hi! To answer your question: 1. Yes it is renewable, on a merit basis (I think its a GPA of 3.0 or above) 2. Yes I did get the Belt and Road Scholarship for Malaysian students; however, I did not end up going to CUHK. And thank you so much for supporting! I wanted to make a video about my CUHK interview and Belt and Scholarship but I have been so busy adapting to my uni life😭

Hello Nicole! In Hong Kong, other than HKU, I also applied to CUHK. I ended up accepting my offer from CUHK instead of HKU, simply because they got back to me earlier, and offered me a full tuition scholarship (which HKU didn't). Outside of Hong Kong, I applied to unis in UK, Singapore, and China. I've heard back from all these unis EXCEPT for the ones in Singapore, which will only send out offers after I receive my IB results in July. If you're interested in knowing my experience in applying to any of these unis, please let me know and I will make a separate video talk about them :D

@@arsh5168 same! I mailed to both the faculties regarding the interviews. The business school said that they usually don't arrange interviews expect of IGBM and the engineering faculty didn't make a lot clear but said that they are still processing the application.

Hi Emley! I did receive an offer, for both Sciences and Biomedical Sciences program. Here are the dates when I did my interview and when I received my offer: Group interview: December 5th 2020 Individual Biomed interview: December 18th, 2020 Receiving Sciences program offer: January 22nd, 2021 Receiving my Biomedical Sciences offer: March 2nd, 2021 I applied to HKU as an international student, using my IB predicted grades; so the interviews I mentioned in this video were the ones that were given to international students. Hope these information helped! ;)
@@operationsuccess6057 hi!! this depends on a lot of factors. At this point I believe HKU is in the "clearing" process. So I think you do still have a chance to get in but its definitely lower than if you apply in the regular round. You can consider emailing the admissions officer and see what they say :)
