Actually the person who invented SU cadences..ran up the percussion program at my school back in the day and we did all these. It is stricking old school from back in the day when he was in college in 1970s best time I have ever had
@ScorpioInn The only percussion sections that come close to gettin' in (or could get it in) with NSU are McFunk Box, Platinum Forte (Albany State) and Sudden Impact (BCU). Everyone else is a distant 978283419087230871234.
@kingjokerful the head i would suggest for them to use are those white max heads. they sound better than the ones they have now but they can still have that old school sound
@dezpimp09 dude they sound fine its just a different style of playing they use. there are many different styles of drumming and southern has their own unique way of playing and there is nothing wrong with that. that style southern uses sets them apart from other drumlines
man i hate tha way su snares sound.....and they look and sound so sloopy...realtalk anit nobody messing txsu and pv drumline handsdown tha best in tha south
@TheDragonmaster18 yea now those are concert tuned snare heads i aint knockin em but id rather use high tension it sounds better to me and it matches their sound they are a guud band
+Rockey Lolo listen to TSU Snares then listen to SU snars and you will hear what the fuck I'm talking bout fuck boy. Did you hear that dirty ass shit the SU snars played on that first candence, that dirty ass solo?? I don't give a fuck if you Jackson, Alcorn, or Langston, if the shit sound dirty, then its some shit. Get the fuck out your feelings, fuck nigga, TSU snars was CLEAN!!!! @Congobruh4 Bongos ? I'm sorry, I like SCSU and BBI sounded okay when they played A&T in 08 (I was right next to SCSU), but they are in no way ready for MDFS. That's like say "Man, I'll play that Standard of Excellence book I perfectly and blow y'all out" at FAMU.
southern snares were actually clean and together it just sounds bad cause the tuning is terrible. if they wouldve tighen those heads up then it wouldve been better but TxSU still gets the win.
@BlackCalvinist man i believe dat the Bongo's will go neck to neck wit da funk squad, its a video on here from 09 wit the Bongo's and MDFS goin at it, yhu take ur own opinion on it, and can if ur not a Bongo then dnt call out their section, im not a Bongo either, but jus dont do it outta respect for the section
i really the freakin snare tunng the most the bass i can deal wit but da snares tho its fuckin sounds dirty and to me they march lazy cus those snares shuld be at your waist not yur damn knee ( su ) but dey cadence four go hard as hell yo . come up here and see wat reall snares sound like , nsu , vsu , nc a&t

That first cadence by FF

Patrick Walker Su or Txsu?
I think both of them either use ludwig or Yamaha and tenor uses remo
And for cymbals it’s zildjian custom A 18”-22”
Pound 4 pound SU snare line got that ass tore up,
I've seen SU way more tighter than this

@kingjokerful the head i would suggest for them to use are those white max heads. they sound better than the ones they have now but they can still have that old school sound

SU Snares about right. They have always been tuned simular to the Old Guard Style, not the main stream super tight drum heads.
no.....I marched at J-state.....years ago
S.U., why expose your snares that long knowing the sound like that? not together at all.
@kingjokerful you do know that this is how snares use to sound like right? southern will never update their heads they want to keep that sound.
@TheDragonmaster18 yea now those are concert tuned snare heads i aint knockin em but id rather use high tension it sounds better to me and it matches their sound they are a guud band
