a cool trick I do with my S3 is that i have it on individua model where the powertrain (dynamic), exhaust (dynamic), suspension (comfort), and I just play with the D and S mode on the transmission whenever i need the pops, and then quickly switch to normal mode, no pops. (quick bottom shift using the gear lever)
best exhaust set up in my opinion i have a 2016 s3 it has a apr track exhaust with IE downpipe it sounds amazing its a deep tone and not raspy like most exhaust
i love the intake sound! i have the pex apr open intake and i dont even hear it inside.. i wonder what i can do to make it more pronounced like yours ? im stage 2 btw
@@sin4157 i have a mic mounted inside the engine bay beside the intake so you’re hearing it way more than you do in the cabin haha I can still hear it pretty good in the cabin though, from what I know the IE intake is on the louder side, I also have their turbo inlet which helps increase air flow
So I have a 2019 Audi S3 with catless DP, intake, stage 2 from IE and a full custom catback exhaust with a vibrant resonator, I personally dont really like how the car pushes, to me it feels slow, and comfort mode is annoying because it shifts really late, sport mode even worse obviously, im used to my supercharged S5 and miss it a lot and i tend to hate 4 cyl, maybe its just my car that has an issue but it feels slow and when flooring it in sports mode, it doesnt feel any different than stock.. plus when i floor it starting at 2200rpm in manual mode, i hear the turbo discharge as i floor it.. idk i dont like S3 that much and never will like 4 cyl. maybe im unlucky with this car
Damn bro, I'm hoping it isn't really like that cause I'm about to go stage 2 and I'm really expecting a noticiable distance in power. Hope I'm not disappointed in it. Also if I may ask, how do you get around CEL with running catless dp? Heard most tuners won't tune for it.
hmmm the car shouldn't feel slow, how much hp was your supercharged S5? i came from a 2019 ss 1le Camaro into my s3, and at stage 2 it feels almost as quick as the Camaro, if i put it in dynamic mode automatic and floor it, it pulls like a freight train and there's no comparison to stock there's a chance there's something off with your tunes, in comfort mode and auto it shouldn't be shifting late, it may be worth reaching out to IE support and trying to troubleshoot it in terms of 4 cyl though, it's definitely never going to sound anywhere near as good as your supercharged s5 unfortunately haha but imo for a 4 banger it sounds great
@@JayChesterman oddly enough, its pretty much the same, check out S5 2013 stage 2 on IE its 422hp on 91 and its heavier, idk even my idle on sports mode the rpm goes from 900rpm to 1100rpm every second idk how to explain it, sounds like im slightly hitting the gas to do a mini rev but non stop
@@WondersImagines it sounds like there may be an issue man, does the IE app show any ECU codes? i wonder if you're having a misfire with the idle jumping that much even on IE stage 1 high torque tune before i got the downpipe the difference was night and day, you should reach out to IE and see if they can help troubleshoot
@@JayChesterman idk ive thought about vacuum leak, bad spark plugs (planned on going on rs7 plugs) but i work at home so i dont drive too much, no code on the IE app, shows that i can make up to 27-28 psi of boost, and you can see the rpm going up and down a little, kinda sounds like im running a big camshaft v8 lol
Sounds insane, I also have a s3, at what mileage did you go stage 2? I’m only 19 so im not quite sure if I wanna risk the reliablility going stage 2 cuz it’s my only car
thanks for the comment! i'm in Canada so we measure in km, and i went stage 2 at around 30k km (18,641 miles) - i'm now at 63k (39,146 miles) if it's your only car, i would be hesitant about going stage 2 just because you are increasing the risk of something breaking (although it may not be a huge increase, but the chance is there)
my s3 is stage 2 and i have 74k it still pulls strong with no issues apr track exhaust and IE downpipe is what im running and its not raspy at all just pretty loud tho iIve heard s3 are great reliability with tuning
