If swr of the antenna is 1:3 or lower then no need to use a tuner. However if u plan to use the antenna on another band (hf band) where the antenna is not tuned to a desired working frequency a tuner is a must have.
Sir just asking...will an hf radio automatically lower down output power of the swr is high? For 100 watts it is only using 9 amps as registered in the power supply meter..ic 718 radio
Maverick Gunner hello. if you are using a tuner, after you have tuned your antenna, your output power will be decreased. the higher your swr is, the lower your output power will be after you have tuned it. this is because if you have a high swr reading your reflected power will also be high. your reflected power becomes heat on your antenna instead of rf power.
@@mrbelat how about po if mahina ang audio report sa akin ng kausap ko po? I already adjusted the mic gain..the compressor..etc...what might be the problem..im using stock mic hm 36
Maverick Gunner hello again. Nowadays, propagation is really bad. Kahit yong mga good audio sa akin dati pag bad ang propagation nagiging manipis ang audio nya. Try to compare your audio report during bad and good propagation. U should get a good audio report when band conditions are good.
I don't understand why the internal tuner on the ic-7300 is on when you are using the external comet.
the internal is very limited
Use one or the other tuners not both. This is why the ext tuner bands are wonky
You need to turn off your Tuner from the 7300.
Ain’t it better to tune using FM? Also, the power needle needle is showing 50-60% of what’s set on the radio.
Where are you buy ?
Have you tried using it on 60m?
Nice review Amboy!
thanks Roy :)
Nice, I want one!
sir dou still need it even in pre-tuned Diamond antennas ? just curious...

@@mrbelat hi po. I will po. It might be also due to my antenna. Thank you for accomodating my questions. 73 de DV6WHY
On 40 meter you don't need a tuner with your specific antenna and look in the manual how to tune it to frequencies your antenna does not match.
Is it not working on 11 meters ?
it should be able to tune antenna on 11 meter as long as swr of antenna is within tolerable range.
