As a volleyball player in college and high school I always loved haikyuu because it accurately conveyed volleyball and what mind sets can be like during the game. They also incorporated a lot of advanced play styles that are growing in popularity in the professional world, such as using your Libero as a back up setter if your setter is taken out on the first touch.

@Aine supoer slow mo makes everything like 10x more intense.
The only thing you dont usualy see is the minus tempo quick set kageyama and hinata does haha its just easier to do 1st tempo quick sets and more reliable ofcourse.

@@Maya-sy5cg my friend was a libero on pur high school team. She was wearing a breast binder to make her chest flat and to protect her breasts as well. It's a common practice in volleyball, perhaps other sports too.

@@DD-fh6gy oh ok. just try to keep your eyes on the ball I guess, or where you think it'll be. There's only so many places you can put the ball after all. example: someone recives the ball and you lose sight of it, look to a setter cause the ball has a chance of going there to set up for a spike to get a point.

they're so big, i didn't expect volleyball players to be so big, all of the tall and muscular guys in the manga make so much more sense now than just being a foil to a team of mostly shorter players.

As a (very crappy) voleyball player and voleyball lover from a long time, I identify strongly with many situations displayed in Haikyuu. Is so refreshing to see an author portraying a sport so faithfully
Real volleyball is more chaotic but thats also because these are meant to be high school students plus they have to be slowed a bit so we could understand and so the animators dont die putting so many frames of action every episode
When high school students are as good as trained professionals with 8+ years of experience in volleyball.

Holy hell it's so similar, I always thought "man I wanna play volleyball but it's probably nothing like haikyuu" but this is almost the exact same just without the slow mo
I use to play volleyball in my school in PT class. It was awesome.
And my school had interhouse competition . Plus in finals whole school was invited to watch. Sometimes it gets so intense.

The most underrated character in the entire haikyuu series is sawamura daichi. Hands down. He's the backbone of their defense. Cuz nishinoya gets subbed out at times due to rotation. Daichi always plays. And he takes spikes head on.

勇敢な弱虫 変人速攻は置いといて、あとはプレー自体は上手な男子高校生なら出来ると思います。ただ試合の一瞬の出来事を丁寧に奥深く描いてるからバレーって難しい、面白いって感じるって思ってます^_^

The one thing I find funny about Haikyuu is how they are able to say full sentences in the middle of points. Like a bump to a set is like a second, and they’ll say a whole paragraph

The thing I love about sports anime is that it exaggerates playing the sport in a way that certain fans can't turn away from (especially athletic ones). Watching Free! made me want to swim, Kuroko no Basket made me want to try out basketball, and now I'm indecisive...
Are you kittening me. I thought Haikyuu, since it was an anime was making moves that people couldn’t actually do but the people in real life making said moves makes Haikyuu look so dramatic when their just so chill doing it.
I played volleyball for 6 years and this last year I had to take a break but watching this videos just gives me the motivation I need. I miss the adrenaline of blocking spikes and the whole rush throughout the sets. I wish people would give volleyball more credit, such an amazing sport

Muito bom o vídeo, é a melhor compilação que vi até agora. Está de parabéns! Sempre amei vôlei, pra mim é esporte mais emocionante que tem. E haikyuu realmente é um dos melhores animes de esporte no momento. Gosto muito de Kuroko no Basuke e de Yowamushi Pedal, mas eles são beeem dramáticos e muito fantasiosos com os seus movimentos super mirabolantes e os personagens são op às vezes (embora seja o charme dessas séries hahaha). Haikyuu é um pouco mais pé no chão, com personagens bem carismáticos, e que realmente mostra as dificuldades e a evolução deles como atletas. Esse anime fez me apaixonar ainda mais pelo vôlei. Que venha a 4 temporada logo! E um spin-off do time feminino, pq elas merecem :D

Real life people are incredible tbh. I know next to nothing about volleyball aside from what haikyuu has taught me, so I thought a bunch of the anime stuff was exaggerated for entertainment, but damn. Real people are awesome

Haikyuu is a sense of realism which makes it different from another anime , and that's why I love it
I really love how grounded in reality Haikyuu is. So many sports anime go way overboard with the "abilities" and that's not something I enjoy in a more realistic series.

Except for Kageyama & Hinata's freak attack, everything else is the real deal. So cool!!! Though, who knows, maybe even the freak attack is real since in reality the players and ball are so fast I can barely keep up and half the time still miss the ball. As Hinata would say - they just go zoooom, whooosh and that's it.
The author of Haikyuu must have done a ton of research and watched endless matches to be able to recreate truly realistic matches. Love it! :D
