There's only so many places you can put the ball after all. example: someone recives the ball and you lose sight of it, look to a setter cause the ball has a chance of going there to set up for a spike to get a point.
This was actually the best reason why I don't watch real life volleyballs it's just they look like they have that super inhuman speed that it makes you dizzy because of the ball passing there and there again lmaoo

Real volleyball is more chaotic but thats also because these are meant to be high school students plus they have to be slowed a bit so we could understand and so the animators dont die putting so many frames of action every episode

The most underrated character in the entire haikyuu series is sawamura daichi. Hands down. He's the backbone of their defense. Cuz nishinoya gets subbed out at times due to rotation. Daichi always plays. And he takes spikes head on.
It doesn't hurt that much, it's hella scary though if the opposite team slaps the ball and it flies right beside your head at a speed where it would easily break your nose if it hit your face
I use to play volleyball in my school in PT class. It was awesome. And my school had interhouse competition . Plus in finals whole school was invited to watch. Sometimes it gets so intense. Volleyball is truly an amazing game.😍

The thing I love about sports anime is that it exaggerates playing the sport in a way that certain fans can't turn away from (especially athletic ones). Watching Free! made me want to swim, Kuroko no Basket made me want to try out basketball, and now I'm indecisive...
I played volleyball for 6 years and this last year I had to take a break but watching this videos just gives me the motivation I need. I miss the adrenaline of blocking spikes and the whole rush throughout the sets. I wish people would give volleyball more credit, such an amazing sport

E haikyuu realmente é um dos melhores animes de esporte no momento. Gosto muito de Kuroko no Basuke e de Yowamushi Pedal, mas eles são beeem dramáticos e muito fantasiosos com os seus movimentos super mirabolantes e os personagens são op às vezes (embora seja o charme dessas séries hahaha). Haikyuu é um pouco mais pé no chão, com personagens bem carismáticos, e que realmente mostra as dificuldades e a evolução deles como atletas. Esse anime fez me apaixonar ainda mais pelo vôlei. Que venha a 4 temporada logo! E um spin-off do time feminino, pq elas merecem :D
I really love how grounded in reality Haikyuu is. So many sports anime go way overboard with the "abilities" and that's not something I enjoy in a more realistic series.
Sooo, basically...Haikyuu is real!!!!! :D Except for Kageyama & Hinata's freak attack, everything else is the real deal. So cool!!! Though, who knows, maybe even the freak attack is real since in reality the players and ball are so fast I can barely keep up and half the time still miss the ball. As Hinata would say - they just go zoooom, whooosh and that's it. The author of Haikyuu must have done a ton of research and watched endless matches to be able to recreate truly realistic matches.
