    I still have My Star Wars double Album set with the Poster, I purchased the Album in the 70's just after seeing Star Wars with my birthday Money. I was around 10 years old at that time.

    the best concrete texture I've come up with is 40 grit sandpaper and a rolling pin of some sort👍 hurts less then a foil ball too🍻

    I'm currently working on a diorama of one of most iconic dive bars in Buffalo, NY and your IG and RUclips channel definitely helps me pick up the brush.
    Anyhow, keep up the inspirational work!

    This is great and thanks for sharing! Do you add any texture to the foam other than the indentations here and there?

    • @OilersWorkshop
      @OilersWorkshop  2 года назад +2

      It depends on what I’m trying to achieve, this is just left plain and whatever indentions happen happen. Some times I scrape it with sandpaper some times I use a rock, but the wall was left plain and the sidewalk I used a little bit of a rock

    This looks amazing! When you do the base black paint first, do you mix the black paint with mod podge? Or is it just plain black paint?
    Also do you use any type of sealer at the end?

    • @OilersWorkshop
      @OilersWorkshop  2 года назад

      I’ve never mixed paint with mod podge, I’ll have to explore that. And I seal it wil rust oleum clear matte spray

      This method should work fine you can order different thickness XPS foam off Amazon that you can trim down and size and then use this painting method on

    Your concrete is so realistic! I am just starting out on a book nook and wanted to make a concrete pavement. Do you have tips on how to build one? Would have liked to see how you put this together. It looks like you cut them separately and placed them together?

    • @OilersWorkshop
      @OilersWorkshop  Год назад +2

      thank you, its insulation foam carved with a ruler and an extendable box cutter, you just cut/carve into the foam the lines you want and then drag the tip of a pen through your cuts to widen them, you can sand the foam edges with 120grit sandpaper to round them over, thats how i made the sidewalk you see in the thumbnail

    I'm new to dioramas and painting in general; what was in the large cup you poured first when starting the washes? It looked like watery black paint?

    • @OilersWorkshop
      @OilersWorkshop  7 месяцев назад

      That’s exactly what it was, just water I rinse my brushes off with, it’s accumulated paint in water, works great for weathering

  • @chaosbringer12
    @chaosbringer12 2 года назад +2

    I'm curious what you use to seal your dioramas with? I was using Minwax 33060000 matte for a little while, but I noticed if I needed to go back and touch something else, the color or touchup was really pronounced and different once I sprayed the clear coat over it. I know some people just use mod podge matte, but even that still has a shine to it.

    • @OilersWorkshop
      @OilersWorkshop  2 года назад +1

      I use rust oleum SPRAY “clear matte” for most large items, sometimes I use mod podge and other things for specific needs though but this wall and walkway was done using that spray, it won’t hurt the foam as long as your paint layers are multiple and even

    • @chaosbringer12
      @chaosbringer12 2 года назад

      @@OilersWorkshop Thank you for the reply! One more question pertaining to sealing. Do you usually seal your larger projects or is it mostly smaller ones that you seal? I have a giant TMNT sewer lair that I finished, but am reluctant to use that much spray on it lol
