Hanoi in 1993

Some footage I shot in Hanoi in 1993. Vietnam's capital was a relatively quiet city of bicycles just 20 years ago. If you've been to Hanoi recently, you won't recognise it in these clips. At the end of the clip is my former business partner Paul Hole lamenting the cold March day.

Thanks for the video. I was there in July 1992 and things were almost the same as they were in your video. Recently, Hanoi has changed as much as nothing in this video would be the same. Since 2009, I visit the city every year ... 🥰

I was in Hanoi in 1990. Bought a bicycle and cycled around. Loved it. Stayed in a central hotel at Hoàn Kiếm Lake , payed 8 usd. Had to pay a fine at exit because I had no valid travel permit. My permit was only for HCM but I didn't understand that., hahaha. One of my best travel ever. Would not put my foot in Hanoi today.
