Installing Hyper V (Virtualization Manager) on win 7

INSTALLING HYPER-V MANAGER ON WINDOWS 7…
Download and install the RSAT tools for Windows 7 from here:
www.microsoft.c....
Install either the 32-bit or 64-bit depending on what version of Windows 7 you’re using.
Next, go to Start - Control Panel and click on Programs.
Next, you’ll see an option to Turn Window features on or off. Click on this option.
Under Remote Server Administration Tools - Role Administration Tools, find the option for Hyper-V Tools, check the checkbox and click OK. You can now type Hyper-V Manager at the Start Menu

It says in the description of RAST on the Microsoft webpage: "This software can be installed ONLY on computers that are running the Enterprise, Professional, or Ultimate editions of Windows 7 or Windows 7 with SP1; it cannot be installed on target servers that you want to manage." which is essential information missing in this video..

this only install hyper-v tools to manage hyper-v enabled servers, you cant create a new hyper-v locally on windows7. i think you can on windows 8 and later edition.

You can as this is the purpose of Hyper-V.

This doesn't let you create VM's or even start a Hyper-V server. This just lets you install the management tools for managing remote servers.
