Trying to find a job BEFORE film school has been really beneficial. It's showing me how hard it can be and how long it can take. I agree that it's okay to not land something right away. It takes time for everyone unless they have family in the industry.
hello! I am a recent high school graduate and I am planning to study film production at Biola University this fall. I have watched all of your videos concerning tips for film school, and I am so grateful I found your channel. I was just wondering if you have any tips about what film-related jobs and internships are looking for on a film student's resumé? Again you're doing an awesome job.
It is definitely great to do some volunteer work/internships/or jobs related to what you are interested in. If your passion is editing, try making your own editing projects with other peoples' work, or offer to help out an editing company a few hours out of the week. Even if an experience on your resume is part time or unpaid, that doesn't matter because employers are just looking to see that you are dedicated and a hard worker. Also if you have non film jobs, it doesn't hurt to include those either!
pls don't stop, cause I just found out you'r channel, and it's actually the best thing I did in this all year ❤️ and I am just watching all them for the past hour's and it's rly helpful, even if I am trying to find good universities in Europe
well, what did you want to do after film school? like if you wanted to go indie and make indie films or did you want to work for someone, 9/5 like. Because the answer should be radically different for both
If anybody want to get his ass in the film industry don't study these film shit studies, just try to learn from youtube and stand in front of the mirror, practice so hard and after that go look for a job
Thank you for the video! I feel I learn a lot about film school (during and after) watching your videos. It's awesome to hear that you're working at someplace you really enjoy. :D
This video shows that a lot of patience is needed in this industry, thank you for this.
I think connection apart from talent plays important role for getting work in the industry
