      That energy crisis ended when he left. America went back to lower taxes and drilling was encouraged. Jimmy got caught up in the green energy bullshit and had to reverse course to drill again once the oil crisis hit. But at that time it was already too late and the damage had been done. Biden is too big of a moron to change course like jimmy did. Were stuck with high gas prices for a very long time thanks to this disaster of a presidency

    Carter was a good president in my opinion.
    He was the first president to at least try to fight the inevitable future dependance on foreign oil.
    He imagined that solar power might be a solution, as was illustrated by the symbolic placement of solar panels on the white house.

    I was 10 years old when Jimmy Carter made this speech. I remember that my family, black Americans who voted Democrat in every election, were so angry about this speech. I find it hilarious that almost 50 years later there are still people who talk about Jimmy Carter and his wife as though they were saints, especially during the recent obsequies for Rosalyn Carter. The problem is the Carters may be nice people but the vast majority of Americans don't vote someone to be President to be nice. We want somebody in the White House who solves problems and, more importantly, prevents future problems by avoiding ill-considered public policies. Carter's poor performance was the single biggest factor in Reagan's crushing victory in November 1980.

The economy took a nose dive and Americans elected a Repub majority in both the House AND Senate in 1994 giving them control of Congress for the first time in 40+ years. Yep, create a new gov department. That’s the solution. “The energy crisis is permanent.” Not exactly an optimist was he. And since then The Clean Air Act cleaned up LA, the US was energy independent under Trump, and gas prices were the lowest in 40 years. Carter was I. Way over his head.

    What accomplishments...they do not outweigh his massive failures. He was an inexperienced man from Georgia, a farmer. He became governor and was suddenly president. A sort of similar story to Sarah Palin actually...the point is he did a lot of horrible things.The Iran crisis, the huge gasoline crisis, the economic crisis...you understate all this and overstate a stupid energy policy. Yes, he did his best. But his best wasn't enough for America at that time, and that is the truth of it.

      Yep. I never thought I would see the day where we would get a president worse than this guy. Starting at a future date post 2024, Instead of saying "worse than carter or" "uh oh this could be another Carter presidency" it will be "worse than Biden" or "Uh oh this could be another Biden presidency" Jimmy is finally off the hook. Joe is being cemented as the worst president in modern history. A complete Imbecile and slime of a human being too. At least Jimmy was a good man.

      @@KidFriendlyGaming Joe is going to demand that we endure 4 more years of his war on fossil fuel. By then gas will be 10 dollars a gallon and there will still be no green energy to power the economy like he promises. The only difference will be that he will be campaigning with a cane, or a walker and mumbling even more incoherently. Relax, he has it all under control!

      @@PwoodrowI my whole thing is we're consuming the gas no matter what green policy we want to have. It's cheaper and greener to produce it locally than to pay someone else and have it imported. So why the f are we doing this to our own ppl??? Unless it's intentional harm on our own economy...

    • @PwoodrowI
      @PwoodrowI 2 года назад +2

      @@KidFriendlyGaming You can pursue green energy and simply not put your thumb on the scale of the oil and gas industry. Remove the burdensome regulations (not all) and onerous taxes and simply leave it alone. You can then give subsidies and encourage clean energy all you want, nobody is against it. Waging war on a precious commodity that we all need to sustain our lives and economy is completely insane. Especially when you know that the country cannot function on windmills and solar panels.

    What countries would those be? Would that be the thriving democratic socialist nation of Greece that is experiencing almost daily riots due to its collapsing economy? Or would that be Spain or Portugal who are next in line to fail after Greece? Italy isn’t far behind. George Soros says the Euro is a bubble about to burst within the next few months. The UK has implemented austerity measures. Iceland is losing population due to its miserable economic future.
