The only people who complain against the 4060 is either they upgraded from 3060 to 4060 or just bought 3060. But for me who upgraded from my gtx 970 to rtx 4060, it was the best decision i made from my budget.
for gamers that only care about 1080p 60fps the 4060 is insane value now tdp is only 115w thats crazy i am now still burning vega 56 at 220+w at way lower fps fps gap would be even more insane with frame generation
@@hengkyiw yes the rtx 4060 is the best budget card now. The FPs difference of rtx 3060 8gb and even against the much expensive rtx 3070 8gb/12gb(?) is not that noticable in 1080p 60fps. So for me go for 4060, also thr Amd RX series is also great.
If you have 3060 12GB, no need to look up at 4060, and if you have 4060, no need to be shamed as it's not far better(DLSS 3.0 is a booster already). If you don't have any of which, buy 4070 =)

@@keashaneverts4452 I am finally buying my rtx 4090 today after living with an intel UHD graphics card for like 4 yrs. I can't express how much tears I am shedding right now. I feel like its a dream, which has still not come true, but the world feels too real for it to not be true. I am losing words. god..
For me, the 4060 became a kind of salvation, I am a user of SFF build (body volume 4.3 liters) before that there were 1660super and 2060, both in a single-cooler version since the maximum length for my case is 18 cm. Both of these cards got very hot, the 2060 with its 160 the watts went to 87 degrees, the undervolt helped but did not significantly reduce the temperature, there was no point in changing to 3060 because the TDP was even higher and, accordingly, it would heat up just as much if not more. Such temperatures are very annoying and also create unnecessary noise, and then NVIDIA rolls out a card that is ideal for me with 115w TDP. In general, I am grateful for this card; by the way, it heats up to 69 degrees. This is the best low-profile video card and at the moment it has no equal at its price.
I have three K39 4L cases all with the rtx 3060 (2 are MSI RTX 3060 Aeroes, 1 is the Palit RTX 3060 StormX) and have never had an issue with temps. My gaming temps do not exceed 70C ever. A lot of these SFF cases require some additional tuning such as a simple undervolt to optimize temperatures and noise levels, in my case undervolting reduced temps even further without hindering performance and actually gave a performance boost. You've also got the entire concept of TDP wrong. TDP does not always have a direct correlation to thermals/temperature, it depends on use case. In CPUs, TDP is the total amount of heat ENERGY in watts produced by the processor under maximum load. The higher the TDP, the more heat is being produced. To be nitpicking, it's not energy, but energy consumed/dissipated per unit time, i.e. power, as in "Thermal Design Power". I.e you can have a chip running at it's max boost clock but the load on the the processor remains around 70-80% (an average gaming load for a lot of games), and as a result, it's temperature in real-world application is far less than a synthetic stress test.
Holy shit i'm glad someone else said it, outdated af, i can run it on my 1650 on high at 60fps lmao, legit waste of time and there's so many more games out there they could actually test.
I have the 4060 gigabyte gaming oc version and the temps not even hit 55C while gaming and power consumption is less than 100w, it's an amazing card. I wonder what driver version did you use or you specified somewhere and i missed?
i cant use retail drivers, cant even install apps as i please, bcs itll revert all the work done abt 3rd parties im sure the owners have good work ethics but their pcs, well not too protected
he probably setting everything almost high on the nvidia setting for showcase purposes. i used to do that and tempt always above 59C, i reset back to default and just change few stuff and temps maintain below 55C. 4060 is indeed a great card just overpriced for it perfomance.
what is the room temperature in your house? because differences in room temperature greatly affect differences in GPU temperature. There are places where the room temperature is 40° and there are places below 20° both will have different results.
@@abhirupkundu2778 because you are using laptop, cooling system for laptop always high for compact space, heat has not much escape route other than the keyboard and the hole lines near GPU. for someone using PC and have temp over 90 degrees everytime, thats actually something wrong.
Honestly, i believe the 4060 is superior, yes it does drop when maxing out the vram but the power consumption being 60w avarage lower, having frame generation and being ahead in avarage fps is what sells it to me
Same! I've a 4060 in my shopping cart alongside the other upgrade components and I've been browsing used GPU's online and sen some 3000 series cards go for pretty good prices. But in the end seems like I might just go with a brand new 4060 as I probably won't have to upgrade my PSU, plus the full warranty is always nice. Not to mention energy costs during whatever future energy crisis that may or may not happen. Besides, I've not much interest in resolutions above 1080p. In the recent years trying to squeeze more frames out of my 1050ti I've noticed that 900p can look just fine and sometimes 720p can be totally bearable. I'm not too swayed by graphics, so it's all fine so long as having the textures at anything below ultra doesn't make the games models look like the miniatures in the THIN YOUR PAINTS video.
I bought a 12GB 3060 on Amazon used and it had artifacts and did not install drivers, I returned it, when I have the money better buy the 4060 for the lower consumption and technological advantages? Enviar comentarios
I ended up going with a used 2070. Had some surprise costs for my build so I had to stretch my money a bit. Thankfully at the time one store had 3060's at a sale so I haggled a pretty decent price for the 2070. Also the guy selling it lives along way I walk when I visit my parents, which brings a nice bit of accountability when buying something without a warranty. I did also spot someone online selling a 2070 dirt cheap, but then found out they were selling a bunch of GPU's and figured that was a bitcoin miner.
Only once I did the mistake and bought Intel "F" version without integrated GPU. Don't do that mistake, guys. It's usually only 10-20$ difference. If for some reason you discrete GPU break, you won't be able to open your PC anymore, until you get a new one. Why? Besides, nowadays, even the integrated GPUs are extremely good for their intended purpose. You will keep having your PC and even play many games in Low and a couple Medium settings 1080p and below. Also, without integrated GPU, you'll be in a rush to get a new one. You won't be able to wait a little either to gather more money to get your actually desired GPU or in case the new series of discrete GPUs are just around the corner. In short, don't buy "F" versions. I understand the appealing since the 12400F or 13400F or especially 14400F are extremely good CPUs while they cost below 200$, but still, worth paying ~200-210$ to get the non-F version.
The Frame Generation on 3060 12GB runs stable now in many games, I know its not official but works great as 4000 series, I think you should have added it for head to head comparison for the Frame Generation side..

Many people dislike the RTX 4060. I think it's seriously impressive that they can achieve about the same performance, if not better, while using 2/3 the power consistently.
Finslly a real test not fakes. People really hated on the 4060 at launch but now everyone loves it for a budget gpu. Its proven its fine. It also wins in like every 1440p and 4k situation. Idk why anybody would complain at the price its fantastic. Im still shocked at how good budget pcs are now. But yeah when teste arent faked the 4060 wins everytime.
I am planning to build a pc with i5 12th gen. I was stuck on the GPU so I came to RUclips and watched this video. This video has cleared my doubts and I have decided that I am gonna use a 3060 12GB for my build. I am doing this because of the VRAM and also my requirements are not to be able to play the games on ultra settings, I just want to run them on 1440p and medium to low settings (I am also a competitive gamer and love to play competitive so I’m not up for fancy graphics). I would recommend that if you love to play competitive games just buy the RTX 3060 so you can just get better FPS not fancy graphics. However, if you want the graphics to be amazing then go for the RTX 4060. If you’re broke then quit dreaming about these lil bro (jk). ❤😂
but the system ram difference exists in multiple other games where VRAM is not even a limit and both vrams running at same load....so something doesnt addup,,,
4060 is probably the best card for budget gamer its low in price, tdp is insanely efficient, it can play ALL games 60fps and it even have a magic frame generation tech it completely outperform its predecessor and competitors at the price
Stop focusing only on Vram and start looking at 128Bits/192Bits/256Bits bandwidth, studying computer science you start to realize how much of a difference this makes. A card launched in 2023 with just 128Bits bandwidth is the company vomiting on consumers and everyone is happy with this sadness. 128Bits would be perfect for 4050, now sending a 4060 with 128Bits to justify a 4070 with 192Bits is ridiculous. Remember the 8GB RTX 3060? With the "same specifications" just one thing different besides the Vram and the 128Bit bandwidth! Even if the game doesn't use all of your VRAM, the bandwidth will make your card "Cry" and if by bad luck you exceed the VRAM of your video card and your system starts borrowing RAM from your system, then you'll see What 128Bits will do with your beloved board!.
Guys I have done a course on micro proecessor and micro controller and I can assure you nothing will happen to you ntohing sort such thing will happen. Memory interface unit and Bus interface unit serve their special purpose and then there is igpu(if present) Here in this case u got a 12400f which lacks a igpu so you can't borrow ram to makeup for the missing vram that is why we see 3060 consuming more vram/ 4060 consuming less vram but still having the same performance it's bcz of the missing vram.
nope, 3060 is actually an insane waste of money. Better buy the 3080 or 3090 if you can, or wait for your budget to increase. Anything below a 3080 is what I call garbage.

Buying a graphics card is not only based on current titles but also on the future titles for at least a 5 years timeline, so its better to look into 4070 as a minimum requirement.
I wish people wasnt so attached so i could get decent unbias information from the comments but everyone seems like baby's like with consoles. So cant fully tell which is better or which aspects are worth it or the price to performance yes price does matter.....a lot
Go for RTX 4060. You can't go wrong. Don't listen to those who think 3060 is better than this card because in reality when 3060 was released it was scalped by miners and every one of them cost $400-$500 just to get one while the RTX 4060 is $300 or less and it can do better. Don't listen to them about the VRAM issue. Developers are working so hard on optimizing their games for a lower vram usage.
Check newer pc titles like Horizon Forbidden West, Ghost of Tsushima, ang almost new games don't consume that much of a vram. Only few exceptions like the The Last of Us, Star Wars Jedi Survivor and few. Most of the games run and consume less than 8GB.
I mean i thought i will upgrade from 3060 to 4060....i will now save for 5070 since clearly its not worth to get 4060 if i have 3060 and i wont be able to save enough for 4070 before 50 series arrives 😂
The swapping 3060 to 4060 is the worst deal ever. In average 3060 is slower than 4060 about only 10%, which is the smallest generation leap in nvidia's history, and it's definitely not worthy to upgrade. 3060 has 12GB of VRAM, so it will be an actual GPU for a long time. Don't worry about FG, 3060 also got it, so this GPU can compete with 4060 till the end of their cycle.
@@geralt_silverhand That's because 4060 is basically 4050. 4060Ti with 16Gb is somewhat logical upgrade, but the price of 4060Ti/16 is just ruining it.

Yes this is a horrible combination of 8GB vram with this card if it atleast have 10 gb vram than it would surpase the 3060 very well . As you can see lack of vram in 4060 sucking you ram memory higher and if you run games on less than ultra settings in which both 3060 and 4060 use less vram at that point you can see the bigger difference in 3060 and 4060 . Yes 4060 is good card but paired with bad vram .
never trade vram for marginally better framerates. a 12gb card will age better without a doubt. 4060 is an option if you are waiting to play new games at higher framerates with medium/low textures.

3060 and 4060 have same price here but I'll get the 4060 only because of the power consumption. I run my PC at least 12-14h/day and for the 3060 I would probably need to upgrade my PSU as well. Also I only play at 1080p most older games which my current 1050ti can run easy at medium quality. This means that the 4060 will run all my games at ultra easy.
4060 is better than 3060 in every aspect. 1. Much lower TDP and heat generation, 3060 TDP is as high as GTX1080, TSMC 4N is a big improvement, next gen RTX50 won’t improve that much. 2. The price is relatively reasonable. remember how much 3060 was in 2021? $700-$1000
@@davshan8482 and what does all that matter? What good is it if the TDP is lower? What if generates less temperature? I mean the 3060 is not going to burn if you use it normally, what matters is the FPS so the 4060 is not worth it, and only 5 games have frame generation.

When the Vram was maxed out you could clearly see the significant DROP of the 4060, a tip, look at the 1% Low and you will notice that without DLSS 3.0 (Frame Generation) the 4060 is "Unable" when you max out the 8GB Vram. More important than a high FPS is being stable and the 4060 showed that Vram makes a big difference. Note: In games where the two are practically the same, always observe the 1% Low, it's a shame what Nvidea did with the xx60 series, a ridiculous performance and the tests above clearly showed that 8GB of Vram will age very poorly. Poor 4060 was born "Old" Great Memory Clock and Great Clovk GPU but with 128Bits and 8GB of Vram they finished it off.

I don't understand the obsession with the card's power consumption. If you have an adequate cooling solution the extra heat produced by the 3060 is meaningless to your system and if the difference in your power bill is a meaningful expenditure how did you afford the pc to begin with?
I guess my argument is why you would buy an RTX 3060 that doesn't perform as well and cost the same just saying id go with the 4060 for sure. I wouldn't care about power consumption much as both cards don't use much lol. If you get the 4090 your power bill will go up LOL.
Is it just me or is it just laughable that a new 60 series card cant even give 60 FPS in all demanding games they are kinda new? The 4060 is much better optimized, uses less 2k on average of Vram in many games, compared to the 3060 i have noticed. The 3060 is way past 10gbvram in some games, while the 4060 is still at 7. One could argue its an 10gb Vram card :D Infact havent seen one newer game where it leaks over 8gb vram, as some are claiming, in this benchmarks. Plus, this guy is using 1440p. (in some cases). No wonder Vram is so high. Why not use 1080p with a 1440p, or 1620p DLDSR downscaling resolution setting. Less strain to the GPU :), and same better visuals. The entire architecture is newer generation, and the higher clock speed and L2cache compensate in other areas. Has less cores, vram,Bus width. But here is what noone mentions: 4060 Transistors count: 18,900 million. 3060 Transistors count: 12,000 million. "A higher transistor count indicates a more complex and capable GPU. This is particularly important for tasks such as rendering graphics, running simulations, or performing parallel computations. This can contribute to future-proofing, ensuring that the GPU is equipped to handle increasingly demanding applications." :) It has Optical flow hardware and Frame generation is an impressive technology, except for some input lag, which technologies like Nvidea Reflex are adressing. But i guess all people can process in their brains is "omg less Vram". Well Vram is important, so Yay 3060 i guess lol. So is optimization, and the 3060 is leaking all over the place. 4060 Its not just better 15% in performance, add 30% more to "being better", just in overall optimization :)
VRAM doesn't work like that. The system uses some VRAM too, so when 4060 uses 7 GB VRAM it means it's maxed out already and needs to constantly swap textures in and out, whereas 3060 comfortably sits at 10 GB without needing to constantly swap textures from the memory buffer.

Ive also tested it. Problem with with 4060 is VRAM. You showed only FPS but turn on let's say Diablo 4. 15 mins of game and boom - game crashed because of small VRAM. Warhammer 3? Game droping your video settings without your knowledge because you dont have too much VRAM. The Last of Us PC? Dropping like crazy without more VRAM. Many games right now needs more than just 8GB
Just checked two benchmarks, from "Panda benchmarks" and "Jansn Benchmarks" on Diablo 4, rtx 4060. In no setting, did it reached or pass the 8gb Vram mark. Not even using 1440p (wich is not how the 4060 should be use). Also this benchmarks in this video, arent "showing just FPS(first person shooter games)." It shows several, INCLUDING diablo 4 (guess you missed that eh), reaching only 6.78gb vram usage, at ultra 1080p,avgFPs: 137 without even using Frame generation. Watched several, for "The last of us", same. So again, what drugs is this comment section on? Is it called "Salt"? Dont make stuff up, or get a better CPU to use with the 4060. 4060 is better idk if u guys noticed but with rtx off the 4060 renders more and the image quality is higher . With every new game using ray tracing the 4060 is the absolute entry to new games. People only stare at the fps but the image quality is not on par with the 4060
Cards are the same price and more people still choose/or buy the 3060 12gb, especially when the 4060 barely does 10 fps difference. And has less RAM. Frame generation is a joke, makes the graphics look smeared. And the 3060's 12gb VRAM helps in more than JUST gaming. It's always sold out, look at all the flack the 4060 has for barely being a (non)-generations leap over the 3060.
Might get downvoted be here goes: all these upscaling technologies (as wel as rtx and so on) are called "gimmicks" and do not decide how good or bad a gpu/game is. Its the native, raw performance that counts, and it should always be. If i recall, nvidia now only benchmarks games for new gpu's with DLSS enabled by default. Which is not the future i want for gaming honestly. If the moment comes when gamer nexus, hardware unboxed or LTT benchmark games based on DLSS/FSR on ONLY and NOT without then what the fuck is going on? A gpu or game is also not awful if it doesn't have DLSS/FSR/RTX. But the marketing of nvidia (well mostly their fanboys) now define a game absolutely awful if it doesn't have DLSS for example. Remember the drama when AMD forbid some game to not have DLSS? DLSS is an exclusive anyway while FSR works on every gpu. "Oh no the game does not have DLSS, the game is soo badddd" I've always been thinking these upscalers ruined gaming industry in some way. We had awesome gpu's without it, gpu's still are without. Upscaling is not necessary to play a game

Unfortunately here in Australia it's just a whole lot cheaper going the F version.

@@davshan8482 and what does all that matter? What good is it if the TDP is lower? What if generates less temperature? I mean the 3060 is not going to burn if you use it normally, what matters is the FPS so the 4060 is not worth it, and only 5 games have frame generation.
@@EdgarDanielLópezCarbajal Low TDP can save a few bucks on electricity bills every month, and more importantly, the room temperature is a little lower and the body is more comfortable. and 4060 adds the fan stop feature to make less noise (3060 also has this, but 2021-2022 was not a good time to upgrade)
I used 2080FE before, now switched to 4070FE, and I am very satisfied. 2080FE is also an excellent card, I have used it for 4.5 years, good performance, it can be used for another two years until 2024/2025 without any problem(FPS >60), best TDP/performance ratio in RTX20 and helped me completely avoid the sky-high price of cryptocurrency GPUs,.
Nicely done, at last we got some guide for BDO PC build, TYVM
I love my 3060 which is I bought for cheap lmao , and it can handle BIG sized CAD files smoothly or even local AI project with ease , 3060 becomes a good pick if you want a sweet spot between budget gaming and productivity.
The 3060 might not be one of the most powerful but to say it has anything to do with a ''budget'' is kinda silly. At very very most a 3050 is somewhat budget, somewhat.

Hi, anyone , Isn't it recommended to change gtx 960 2gb to rtx 4060 8gb ?
absolutely
Yes without a doubt
Noo
Can't believe the first Gpu i bought is RTX3060 12GB RAM...., only because it's the best thing my motherboard could support.
rtx 4060 is the best laptop card....but for desktops anything below 4070 is not even considered 4000 gen ....even by NVIDIA
As I am a newbie and I am going to build a pc
Do i pair i5 12400f with msi rtx 4060 and if i pair does it will show bottleneck.
Wow.. what is frame generation enabled?
i have 3060ti, how can i use it?
only 40 generations iirc
you can use fsr3 same thing
Frame Generation makes the graphics look like vasoline is all over your screen. Not worth it. Once you go about 90fps you can't tell any difference anyway. Or stick with 60fps on demanding games. The 3060 12gb is still the best bang for the buck. SAVE money, and still play the latest games.
@@drummer7557i have an rtx 4060 laptop, i bought dragon's dogma 2, 30-40 fps max settings, yes max with rt on, well that sucks, until recently they added frame generation and i gained over 40-ish fps, now the game runs at 80 fps( smooth af) while your beloved 3060 stays below 50 . what im saying is, to anyone that are planning to upgrade and having a hard time choosing between 3060 and 4060, get the 4060 or just wait for 5060 (from what I've heard 5060 is also a 8 gigs card correct me if im wrong) i know 8 gigs ain't much, but it's enough for 1080p. fyi lots of 3060 users mod their game so they can use fsr fg anyway.
@@drummer7557 who said that ? dlss enabler mods work perfectly fine. DLSS quality was meant to be better than native you are denying the whole purpose of it's existence brotha
I bought a good PC with the 3060 12gb, the 4060 PC was over $100 more and I didn't feel it was worth it. The 3060 still holds it's own and the 12gb of VRAM helps with other things besides gaming. Also with the money I saved, I bought a new laptop as well. Which I desperately needed. 🤘👍
It seams to perform similar ly to a 4050 laptop on 1080P even tho it has 8gb vram

That will be my upgrade . I bought the 4060 on release only bec the 4070 was just too high but the 4070 super is in a nice spot with even better performance
For qhd is gonna be a huge upgrade, if u dont need retarded amount of fps for e-sports dont even think about upgrading ur cpu LOL

People wrre way to hard on this card purely looking at native performance. Now that everyone gets to see the dlss3 and frame generation the 4060 isnt a joke now its even beating the 3070 with these things on.

Or hogwarts 1080p ultra 100fps compared to the 3060 63 and the 3070 around 83fps. Thats with only using frame generation. So yall 30serires hating clearly dont realize how much more advanced even the 4060 is over it. Doing things even the 3070 cant do.

3060, more vram 12gb
After many years, time to move on to rtx 4060 from gtx 1660 super 😊
RTX 3060 is obsolete. The GPU is too weak to use 12 GB of VRAM. Only RTX 4070 is powerful enough for 12 GB of VRAM.
It has the same bus width per gigabyte than 8gb cards, no problem in using 12gb whatsoever.
Not one game, in this benchmarks, maxed out 8 gb vram on the 4060, or reached it. Seriously, what drugs are you guys on? 🤔😂
@@mikymouse7525 The RTX 3060 is not obsolete, it has a perfect combination of Vram (12GB) with a great Bus Interface (192Bits).
The RTX 3060 doesn't just have more Vram, it has something much better for me, which is its bandwidth (192Bits) combined with more Cuda Cores that makes it really special.
@@inabstract I can play Hogwarts with RT shadows and ambient occlusion on the 3060, but you need more than 8gb. Also with cyberpunk if you enable RT lighting and reflections you will get stutters once in the city with 8gb, it stuttered on the 3050 (I had one) but not with the 3060. RE games, you can activate ultra textures but it will start to skip after a while. Skyrim with mods eats up to 11.6gb, Dead Island 2 used to get pretty rough on the beach area on 8gb, on the 3060 it still has some shader compilation stutter but stabilizes quickly and it's far more playable, hits almost 9gb. Spiderman remaster also skips on 8gb if you enable RT reflections. Far Cry 6 is also a bit rough with 8gb and the HD texture pack. 8gb has one foot in the grave, specially if you intend to use some RT and Frame generation, as both add to vram usage. ruclips.net/video/XFB3ea-7T5c/видео.html
What's your Expectation can rtx. 3060 12 gb run gta VI....???
Your gonna need a 4090 bro
Of course it will. GTA never has been very demanding game because it's made for consoles at first
Just lower the settings and it will run fine at 1080p, the trailers of those games never look the same. The 3060 can even run Alan Wake II on High Settings at 1080p, that's speaks volumes.
I don't understand the obsession with the card's power consumption. If you have an adequate cooling solution the extra heat produced by the 3060 is meaningless to your system and if the difference in your power bill is a meaningful expenditure how did you afford the pc to begin with?
For SFF build, lower consumption means a lot. For my case I am using K39 casing,
I guess my argument is why you would buy an RTX 3060 that doesn't perform as well and cost the same just saying id go with the 4060 for sure. I wouldn't care about power consumption much as both cards don't use much lol. If you get the 4090 your power bill will go up LOL.

Its crazy to say that the 4060 with dlss3 and frame generation on with ray tracing beats the 3070 in most games by 20-30fps.
This can contribute to future-proofing, ensuring that the GPU is equipped to handle increasingly demanding applications." :)
It has Optical flow hardware and Frame generation is an impressive technology, except for some input lag, which technologies like Nvidea Reflex are adressing.

Might get downvoted be here goes:
all these upscaling technologies (as wel as rtx and so on) are called "gimmicks" and do not decide how good or bad a gpu/game is.
"Oh no the game does not have DLSS, the game is soo badddd"
I've always been thinking these upscalers ruined gaming industry in some way. We had awesome gpu's without it, gpu's still are without. Upscaling is not necessary to play a game
