Amazing review. All thoughts soo well spoken, very detailed and in depth analyzes and honest on point criticism. You should have 5 million subscribers at minimum. Keep up the excellent work :)
This video seriously needs more views! It was one of the best reviews I've ever seen period. I used to play 1701 as a kid and I loved it, then I kinda recently got into 1404 and thanks to this video, I'm about to buy the 1800 Complete Edition, because the current sale (About 40€) seems like an awesome deal. Thank you for this, you've earned yourself a sub :) Cheers.
Hey. I have bought Anno 1800 and all dlc and I can tell you that the game is amazing. I still learn the basics and discover 1 season content and 2 season is next. 19 century felling, good mechanics and so much content.
I was wondering the same thing, and the video has only 6.8k views as of 12/26/2020. Very surprising since GamerEmpire has a damn good review and review system.
Congratulations, I have the game and you make a very good account of it. I also appreciate the format of your video, and the extra historical images you used for illustration is a nice touch (Darwin, Humboldt, etc.).
Dude, what a review. Even though I'm a hardcore 1800 player for 2 years, I had to watch ur whole review. Not because I needed it, but because I am consuming everything about 1800 and because of ur amazing presentation of this game. U definately deserve more subs! :)
You deserve so much more subscribers than you have. This is the best review of Anno 1800 I have ever seen and it was a pleasure to watch. keep up the good content.
For the algorithm! I remember watching my best friend's brother playing Anno 2070 on his beefy computer back in the day. I've always wanted to play it so I ended up getting Anno 2205 since $130 (all the DLC+Base Game) for 1800 is too steep at the moment. I really enjoy it and i'm looking forward to 1800 in the future. Thanks for the powerhouse review!
Fantastic video, I have to say. I enjoyed every bit, except the rather long soundtrack analysis. But that is personal preference. I already left a well deserved like and add this comment in hope of a better rating for the algorithm, since this in depth view of this game should get way more attention. All the best to you, Torben
Hello!!? What a great Review!! And your NOT from Ubisoft?!? About 60 likes!? 😕 This belongs on Television! 😯 Thanks! Keep doing what your doing... a specially on this fantastic Game 🤩 I'm playing with pleasure for 100s of hours at the moment (bought it in 2020) 🥰
Unbelievable review. Checking your channel now.. If you give this much time and effort into all your videos, you well get a well deserved like and sub. Well done!
Are there any financing related mechanics in this game? For example, Stock trading, speculation trading on commodities or even bonds on big projects? Would absolutely amazing to have that incorporated in this already wonderful game.
I still really love 2205! So many ideas for future! Sad, it got mixed reviews. Maybe they can make up for the missing Anno elements in a new Anno set in the future.
idk, i was expecting you mention the decrease in scope for the soundtrack in comparison to 1404, being only half in length roughly, and how it gets repepetive after a while listening to the same songs over and over. i never felt like that in 1404.
Anarchist is not too bad. I like Mercier: he's a clever concurrent with strong economy that allows him to buy Hunt islands, but he doesn't declare the war just «because». Botanica is just nice, because many of museum/zoo items looks the same. The Passage was good, but it's killed by Lions and Sky Empire :( Sunken Treasure. We have a real endgame now (because campaign finished on engineers). I like map minigames and scrap hunting. But I hate Crownfalls. You can't play normally some future DLCs because they require a big city.
I don't mean to be negative but I thought review is when you give your opinion on something where as this is just someone explaining all the different mechanics of the game.
Its an analytical retrospective, covering all the mechanics and how they differ from previous titles. My opinion is given at the end in the ratings. Use the chapters to go through each section you need.
Have you or anyone else seen much or had much to speak on the multiplayer functionality of this Anno? The only multiplayer I've tried is 1404 with my brother (both of us love the Anno series) and 1404 multiplayer was very much an afterthought (and mediocre at best) and my brother was never interested in 2070 so I hope to get him into 1800 if the multiplayer is worth playing.
It's still not worth playing, constant desyncs and lag due to bad netcoding. Also the game is so geared towards a single player experience, pretty much an afterthought.
Love this game but there are a few things I would change... For instance I would like to see the game have more mature content. Anno is a series that's to complicated for young children to understand. So I would appreciate them not skirting around racism, and religious ideology of the time. Secondly there should be more options when it comes to interacting with the AI. Lastly one of the specialists should be Bill the Butcher.
FOR ME, the absence of land military operations is more than wishful thinking, it is, indeed critical!every other aspect of this game has me on board 2 buy, but until they actually implement this feature count me out.
Shit man really good job, and i did see it all 8,5. I will give it a 9,0 becuase it just need to fix the fps and a little more difficulty. A like from here
I rarely touch anything of Western cultures, but this soundtrack... it's insane, it feels incredibly epic, don't even know how to explain it, it almost bring tears to my eyes listening to it. some of the loading screen artworks are also incredibly detailed, capture the aesthetic & emotions of the culture so well they are literally million dollar masterpieces in my eyes...
Depends on what you would define a medium PC spec-wise, but again, the game's performance fluctuates massively from early to late game. If your intention is to build massive cities with massive population at more than 15-20 fps then it would be worth it to play this game on a better system. But a low-medium PC could still run this game on low-medium settings for a 'normal' Anno 1800 session (reaching endgame, completing victory conditions e.t.c.).
@@ReviewGen Thanks mate :) In my case that would be a RX 470 and an i5 7500 . The open beta wasnt too good performance wise, i think ill pass another year and get the 1404 history edition :)!
@@ReviewGen nice, I have the 3090 after taking a long break from PC Gaming. I finally can run everything in my Steam library that crashed older systems. Looking forward to this game. 3090 is so dang good Cyberpunk was making me nauseous on a 44 inch wide screen with every maxed out. Looking to relax a but and play Anno and ease back into insane FPS.
This game crashed every 30 to 45 min constantly on day 1. Ive since tried it every few months up until today, and it still crashes. The only game in years to crash.
I would argue that on the *premise* front, there are some issues. This game seems...very pro-colonialism. It also seems like an excellent, in depth game with a lot of interesting ways to play it, but if you're going to give a review score on the game's premise, then you have to admit that's kinda an issue... Of course, anyone who's gotten through an hour long review of the game to see that score has probably managed to achieve sufficient distance between the game and the historical period that inspired it that it's not a problem for them, but...it's definitely a thing. (This might be a thing I'm only really noting because of my experience with the Anno series being almost entirely in its near future settings that manage to avoid problematic things from history by looking forward at future developments rather than looking back at times past.)
The game is inspired by the 19-20th century setting but is certainly in no way historical. In fact, its more of a satirical alternate/steampunk premise rather than any true history; i.e. prevalence of airships/electricity/oil, knowledge of dinosaurs and mythical animals, existence of Atlantis e.t.c. plus no mention or reference to any real-world nation or characters. Lots of inspirations and perhaps some adaptations of a few references a keen historical person may recognise. And I definitely get the 'exploitation' of the new world as your stance but you can extend that to exploitation of the working class/labour issues/and a host of other socio-economic problems if you look that deepy, I just wouldn't take games like this too seriously, as long as the developers don't specifically push an absorbent pro-colonialism agenda, which they haven't, I wouldn't be too worried. The Anno series has a long tradition as a resource-simulation city-builder game, not historical non-fiction.
Season 3 Pass just got announced!
Was wondering why I couldn't find any reviews of it

Looking forward for more reviews, so in depth. Love it.

I played a lot of Anno years ago but now i'll try this one for sure! Thx for the recommendation and the detailed review!
A very thorough and well produced review!! Thank you!

Amazing video really Thank You. I wanted to know more about this game and there is NOTHING but lets plays on yt. Really appreciate your time.
Appreciate the support!
This was a massive review I enjoyed watching a lot. Respect for all the hard work you put in. Thanks!
The Anno 2070 soundtrack is some of the best music I've ever heard. I play it over lots of other games and often listen to it for pleasure.
Very good in depth review. Anno 1800 is an extraordinary game, the more you play it, the more depth and creativity is revealed.
A truly beautiful review! Excellent scripting, narration and editing!
I've never played an Anno game before and I just bought the Complete Edition. Great review.
My dude, I'm completely sold after your review, gonna get on today's sale

I know I'm late to the game but I just wanted to comment and say this was a great video and thank you for making it.
Great review, sad that it doesn't have many vieuws. Mabye its to long for most people
Thanks for the review, I think you have convinced me to get it, its on sale right now on humble bundle
Good in depth review, shame the game probably does not have many players because its not on steam.

Are you gonna finish your last What’s Next for Planet Zoo episode?
Yes
Can you please talk a little bit more about season pass 3 rumours? I just want this game to expand.
Anno 32 SA, that would be amazing.
The base game is $20 right now, I'm thinking about giving it a try.
How does this video have so few likes and views? I wish all reviews were like that

I would commit so many blood sacrifices for an Anno game with Cossacks land warfare
I adore Anno 1800, despite disliking the era it’s set it. The game is just so well made and immensely fun. Kudos to the devs.
convinced me to buy thanks
