- I just flew the improved version of the BAT (Backyard Airplane Trainer) and was so excited I just had to share with you! Build plans and video are in the works!

nice elegant slow flight
Reminds me a little of the I.F.O. I used to have. It used elevons with nearly 90 degrees of throw. It was a carbon fiber stick bent into a circle with ripstop kite fabric. Very light. Would do maneuvers that most planes couldn't even think of.
I just found this video on this plane and I am impressed with it's performance. I thank you for posting the plans as well. This looks like a paper on foamboard plane which I think are much more sturdy. I am going to have to build one of these soon. 👍
You are welcome! Glad you like it! Stay tuned for more!
Very cool
Wonderful, love it..and exactly right for me to play with in my back garden..plans pretty please..
Thanks. Brilliant I'd deffo love a copy..I posted your video to a fb group..called 'rag the nuts off' and a few people there love it too..it's a group that has a big love for wings..
very very nice mate stating my build liked your big one just sits in the air have fun mate :)
This design is simply so cool..... perfect for a basketball court or other tight areas. I’m currently building one following your tutorials, and I hope it flies well.
Thanks! Let me know how it goes! 👍
RCwithAdam okay so I did my first flight today without major issues, but it seemed that my thrust line is incorrect. I have a ridiculous amount of pitch increase whenever I give the throttle a touch. I’m gonna mix some elevator into the throttle and hopefully it helps a little
Btw, the glide performance is absolutely outstanding
Please add plans, I want to do a 4 ch version! What motor esc setup are you using?
Thanks for this design! I already made mine and I'm loving it. I'm considering to add a bit of wing dihedral to help with roll stability, any thoughts?
That's great! I once added some polyhedral and I think it made it too stable. But give it a try and see how it goes! 👍
Really enjoyed building my own. I have an issue with the ESC. The motor turns slowly and intermittently. Any ideas??
I’m new to the hobby and that looks awesome. I would love to have a go at building one. Do you have any plans for it?
Hi! Welcome to RC! Plans here www.rcwithadam.com/the-bat-backyard-airplane-trainer-build-plans-original
@@RCwithAdam1 Hi ! Many thanks for the link to the plans. I can’t wait to get one built now.
can you tell me the 2s lipo mah and the c rating please, i am building one atm with an mt 2204 2300kv motor with the same 6x3 prop and at the moment have a 3s 1300mah 45c battery, just a little concerned about the weight. i also have a A2212/13t 1000kv motor, whats your opinion on trying this with a 10" prop, have tried it with the 6x3 and there is no pulling power at all, even at full throttle it wont even drag its own weight across the ground!
please be attentive in how one says omg
Un rotor hélico manoeuvré
Where are the original plans please?
Real bat hehehe😅😅😁
have you uploaded the build plans?
Yes! Available here: rcwithadam.com/?p=428
@@RCwithAdam1 thank you very much!

@@RCwithAdam1 thanks. I just moved to a place with a small grass field out front across the street. This is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks so much for sharing you plans and ideas. I'll start posting a few videos of my own builds soon. Thanks again!
Is it possible to build this rc plane using a coroplast/sunpack sheet? depron/foam board is not easily available here.
Hi! I haven't tried it, but I'm sure coroplast would work. It would be a bit heavier, I think.
@@RCwithAdam1 Hi,
Thanks for the reply. I made flitetest fish with coroplast. It flies well. Usually here we use A2212 1000kv motor with 3s lipo. Can you suggest a 2s configuration for a slow flying model. I am planning to scale down the fish rc plane.
where is the cg on your bat model? or approx where should it be please?
I always balanced it at a point just forward of the wingtips.
@@RCwithAdam1 That measurement is not clear to me, sorry 😥
What distance in cm or inches from the leading edge?
Thank you so much 👍
anyone tried ailerons ? im goinna give it a go...
I have tried ailerons. While they do work to give a little more control, I think I like it without them. But let us know how you like them and how you installed them!
nice plane looks really cheap too
Thanks!
