HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!! What did you think of Michael's masterpiece?
Michael Myers is the king of reboot films he has so many different versions of them they could gang up on Jason even with his other reboot self jason still get his butt kicked.
Loved it
Great movie! I can’t believe how poorly it’s doing with most audiences.
Happy Halloween Andy. Good Andy, go easy on the treats; Evil, go hard on the tricks.
Happy Halloween brotha
Michael emerging from the flames, that ending beat down in the street, there are a couple scenes that are definitely going to stick with me.
That finale scene the beat down, I only wish that it was a longer with people and Michael fighting and Myers actually struggling a lil bit. Still it's was one of my favorites. You don't see that kind of scenes this days.
The way he puts his mask back on after getting led into a trap, and they thought they were going to beat him down, like "ok, let's go," that was an epic Shape moment.
I couldn't help, but cheer on Michael. My favorite scene in the whole movie.
lol this movie was a joke..
The scene where crushed a man head with his bare hands
Halloween is the choose-your-own-adventure of horror cinema.
this is a popular opinion that I honestly don't agree with because it makes things too confusing. in order to simplify things, I've scaled this entire franchise down to just 2 timelines.
A) - H1, HII, H4, H5, H6-P.C., & H20
&
B) - H1, H2018, Kills, & Ends
@Ryan Looney thanks. I've put a lot of thought into putting this together. thankfully I can base this on what is depicted in the films and how it all connects rather than a personal opinion. coincidentally, H20 even started with Michael wearing the H6 mask, which they've used with the other masks throughout the entire production and can be seen periodically throughout the entire movie.
@Ryan Looney yeup. and if you think it about it, it still makes sense. Loomis had Laurie in witness protection which is why she was in California under a different name, and after Loomis went into shock after the events of H6 (Producer's Cut, which is the definitive version of the film for me), he was in Marion's care and she would of had his files in her possession in which Michael found. as for Jamie, it's highly likely that Laurie & Jimmie were her parents and he had full custody over her at some point likely due to relationship issues. and after her parents death (supposed death in Laurie's case), she was adopted months later. I've always interpret the Thorn Curse as not being Michael's origin of evil since Wynn acknowledged the existence of pure evil and wanted to control that evil, but more of a power boost in which he would of easily been influenced by the curse when he was too physically weak to move & locked up at Ridgemont Federal Sanitarium from 1978 to 1988. it all still fits perfectly as a single continuity.
When a new Halloween film is released everyone wants to hear those 4 little words, but they do differ for people.
Fans: The Movie was Good.
John Carpenter: The Check has cleared.
😄😄
JC didn't even want to do a second one because the series is dumb. The first one was a surprise hit and dummies insisted that they make more. If JC can get a check every few years when studios want to keep beating this dead horse of a franchise, so be it.
@@StratumPress he's making money and people are enjoying senseless violence it's a win win for everyone
Yea the original he did not want to do a sequel too.even h20 he was semi interested in he said give me 10million but 2018 he read the script and was all in for the trilogy and rightfully so he regretted the sister angle big time
Fun fact: John Carpenter likes video games and basketball.
Damn that Michael Myers mannequin behind you shook me for a second 😆
I felt so bad for Good Andy during the firefighter skit.😢
What I gather from this movie is the monster Michael Myers succeeded in creating many monsters when the whole town of Haddonfield into a gigantic lynch mob. It also shows that unfocused rage can be just as deadly as any threat you're trying to fight against.
Na just bad writing. Being an idiot isn't an emotion you can be blinded by. Literally Myers walking trying to get home, while a town of morons fuck themselves up
I think the whole out-of-control mob aspect would have been much more effective if they did their bait-and-switch over who was who you then peovide excuse to empty out the hospital due to maniacally out-of-controltownfolk,even the cops, and their guards go rushing away from protecting Lori because they're overcome with bloodlust meanwhile the real one does some trickery and ends up with the good old hospital slow-burn stalk which I kind of enjoyed and then reimagining this brought me to The Logical conclusion of how to perfectly seg into Season of the Witch..which for fun I intend to draft treatment
The mob scenes are because of the jan 6th ‘insurrection’. Bad politicised writing. Much lames.
@@dr.2335 That doesn't even make sense. The movie was filmed over a year ago, before January 6th even happened
@@CyberSaiyan13 Exactly. Add to that, the mob aspect was in Halloween 2. Just to a much lesser extent. Damn I knew somebody would make that cornball comparison.
And Halloween 6 is how Ant Man stayed young for so long
Tis the true curse of Michael Myers.
At least this time Laurie had more of a reason to be in the hospital.
Recovery from a stab is pain, because your guts are still in the healing process.
This is basically a film about a family trying to tell their elderly member that the man from her youth is just not that into her anymore.
I also must say that I love Michael's burned mask far more than his 2018 mask. this along with the original and the H6 mask are my personal favorites in the entire series.
I liked how throughout the film the mask becomes more deteriorated and more monstrous looking.
H6 mask? So only one of the worst masks in the series,,, lol if you didn't say h1, you got the wrong answer dude
@@nathrob2437 worst? nah man, that's pure bullshit. you're the one with the wrong answer dude since many, many Halloween fans have said the H6 mask is one of the best. and they're absolutely right.
@@nathrob2437 there are masks that are much, much worse in this series. the H4 mask, the H5 mask, the torn RZ-H2 mask, the original production mask from H20, even the Resurrection mask kind of sucks.
to me, the best masks are H1, HII, H6, H20 (main), RZ-H1 (both the clean & old masks), 2018, & Kills.
hell, they even used the H6 mask in H20, which you can clearly see in the opening scene where Michael kills Marion Chambers. and that mask was created by John Carl Buechler whose done great work throughout his career. sadly he died in 2019, and he will be missed.
@@EpicJasonX9000 literally every mask apart from h1 and 2018-21 is awful,,,i give Rob zombie credit for his mask but his movies are terrible so they don't count, I just don't understand how H6 is a faveroute of anyones....and I don't care what fans think,,,, you follow what everyone says all the time? Lmao
The entire town forming a mob and going after Michael certainly makes things interesting for the little kids who have to go back to school. Imagine being in elementary school and being asked what you did during Halloween, possibly having to write a few paragraphs about it.
Lmao
"My dad said him and his friends went out to go beat up a bad guy and he wanted me to stay inside"
With most of the kids not having parents or older siblings anymore
@@CadenceWallace Yup! Lord, those kids would need therapy. Or they'd all be adopted out to very different places and some of those really young kids will be like, "well, there was a murderer in my old town!!"
I quite enjoyed Kills. I’ll see where it lands in a few months but right now it’s #3 for me behind the original and Halloween 4. The movie worked for me and surprisingly so did the comedy bits in this one cause hey felt way more integrated and less distracting than in 2018. My favorite kill was definitely when Big John got his eyes popped out with Michael’s thumbs. I’ve always wanted to see that in a movie in that exact way and I loved it.
You’re the man for liking Kills and Halloween 4. Two of my favorites as well and don’t get enough credit for some of the things they did extremely well
I honestly expected this movie to be an hour and half of the scene from the infamous SpongeBob scene:
Haddonfield Residents/Tommy Doyle: "How many times do we have to teach you this lesson, old man?!"
The Shape: *Heavy Breathing*
Great review as always, Andy. And a Happy, Happy Halloween (Silver Shamrock!) to you!
Thank you and Happy Halloween!!
Watched this last night before bed and it was a hoot.
Not the best Halloween film but it served it's purpose. Can't wait for Halloween Ends. Love you Andy, Andy & Andy!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
I love the nod to Season of the Witch in both of these movies, Happy Halloween Andys!
Happy Halloween, Brandon!
I don’t know why, but that jump scare at the end of the video got me. LOL
The nursing home joke at the end was pretty great. 😂😂😂
Thank you!
Haddonfield: Evil Dies Tonight
Michael:.......
Me: He said, "Yeah, about that" in Michael Myers.
It's a good day when I scroll RUclips and find a new movie review from Andy(s). I was surprised you didn't mention the nod to Halloween 3 Season of the Witch.
The masks were in the last movie too and more blatantly obvious in this one.
I wasn't a big fan of the previous movie, but for some odd reason I absolutely loved this one :D super interested in how things will end next year. And of course 👏 great video as always.
Thank you!
When Hunter’s Moon dropped I called it the Dream Warriors/He’s Back of the Halloween franchise, and Ghost was an excellent choice
I can't believe Michael Myers killed STUART! Just when he finally left his mother.
Lmao it was good seeing Michael McDonald onscreen again, he was hilarious af in the MadTV days
Michael goes to kill Stuart. NooOOooOOooooOOOooooo! *kicks him*
Dam! I loved this video. Made me laugh insanely when it got muted. Great job, Andy!
Seeing this brightened my day I saw the film Friday and loved it the kills are so brutal and magnificent I love how H18 was Laurie's story and this is Michael's film no doubt great job another great video well done
not only are Chucky & Michael back, but they actually meet on screen in a commercial that aired during the series premier of the Chucky TV series.
Chucky was horrible
@@clintonkildepsteen3982 you mean the TV show? I can't really agree or disagree with that yet. the show just started, and not much has happened. I honestly wouldn't make that kind of an objective statement until we actually see more from the show. we need more context first before we start judging the show on it's objective quality. compared to shit like MTV's Scream, it's definitely leagues better than that crap.
@@EpicJasonX9000 I dont mind the movies but the shows 1st episode was trash and the trailer for the rest if the season looks horrible .. I'll give it 1 or 2 more episodes
@@clintonkildepsteen3982 I wasn't bothered by the 1st episode. I do acknowledge that it had some pretty bad pacing, but what we see in the rest of the season isn't worse than the stuff we got from the previous Chucky films. I'm still on the defense that the original Child's Play film is the best, but out of all the sequels, I still think Bride holds up the strongest. however, unlike Mando or any of the Marvel garbage, at least the creators of this show have their hearts in the right place. which is why I'm willing to give it a fair chance.
hey jason is coming back
now that the original creator got the rights

Fantastic review as always!
Your production quality is always improving.
Thank you!
Man, now I’m really pumped up!! My friends and I are seeing it this weekend and now I have that song stuck in my head! At least now Michael had a badass catchy rock song, Freddy had Dokken, Jason had Alice Cooper, and now Michael has Ghost(just watched the music video and near the end it shows a bit of the 2018 Halloween; also when you showed the scene of Laurie drinking that may explain why she’s lost so many kids….yeesh, plus that had me laughing) But yeah, here’s hoping “Ends” is indeed THE END…..otherwise Laurie and Michael will be at each other in a freakin nursing home! Great review as always, Andy!
Thanks, Jordan!
Ngl, seeing what you had to say about this movie was one of my first thoughts leaving the theater. What a wonderful Monday morning treat 😊

I loved this movie. When we came out of the theatre I was mentioning that this is the Empire Strikes Back of Halloween and about the Frankenstein mob references. Great review. You’re the best horror movie reviewer on RUclips.
Thank you!
I liked it !!! Was it perfect ?? Heck no!!! Was it a fun ride with Michael Myers killing a whole bunch of people ? Yes !!!! But you are right , it definitely does not have much meat to the story . I can’t wait to see how it plays out next year !!! Awesome review !!! Always look forward to your vids !!!
Thank you!
The ending...oh my god, the ending...spoilers below for the ending in case anyone's watching a review and reading the comments on that review without having seen the film yet. I'm not judging you, I do the same thing sometimes.
.
Like I could forgive the film bungling the message it seemed to have about mob justice and mindless pursuit of revenge, but the ending...not only did they completely discard the entire point of the film by doing the whole "Mob violence is okay so long as you make sure you've got the right guy" thing, but hey, let's take this version of Michael Myers that has seemed pretty grounded in reality with characters that act in ways that make sense for their characters and throw all that out the window with a bunch of implied supernatural bullshit AND have characters just leave Michael's "body" lying in the middle of the street like they'd won when NOBODY GOES FOR THE HEAD. "Yeah, we know he's been shot, stabbed, run over, and fallen out of buildings before only to get up and walk it off immediately because we have personally ourselves seen him do it with our own eyes...so let's shoot, stab, and beat on him for a bit and just call it a day when he stops moving instead of actually making sure he's dead! OH NOES HE WASN'T DEAD AND NOW HE'S KILLING US ALL!"
I don't mind when horror movie characters don't act in the most optimal way to survive the given situation. It's stressful and traumatic and people don't always make the most logical decisions that we, watching the movie at home free from a seven-foot-tall monster chasing us, can come up with for what they "should have done". But to have characters that have survived Michael Myers previously just sit around under those grey police blankets drinking coffee like they know the movie's over and not grabbing the gun off the first officer to show up and unloading the entire mag directly into his face. "EVIL DIES TONIGHT!" my ass! I know they needed to make a third movie, but at least come up with a better way to do it than this. But no, they had to pad the body count with a final montage and voiceover about "Fear Itself" (guess we know what the third film's theme is going to be until that gets completely ignored for the third act).
I loved the 2018 Halloween movie. This sequel made me like that movie less, that's how badly they fucked up.
It was the most frustrating scene. Pathetic writing.
And they talk about Myers like he’s this mythical death god, when all he did was kill 5 people 40 years ago, at least in this continuity.
@@spenser9908 That at least made sense. Haddenfield is the sort of small suburban town most people never move away from, so with all the people who personally experienced encounters with Michael Myers or personally knew someone who had, I could see the town creating a legend about him. I've seen similar stories happen in towns I grew up in or near where I grew up where a spree killer turned into a near mythological figure in the area.
Now that's for the residents treating him that way. For the NARRATIVE to treat him like that in the final scenes? That's just bad writing and foreshadows a pivot into "Michael is actually supernatural" which is where the Halloween franchise ALWAYS goes wrong.
That cracking sound during the hug. 😂🤣
damn this has to be one of the most criminally underrated yt channels, love your work bro
Thank you!
I did enjoy it when I watched it, but the more I sit on it, the more I’m bothered by the stupidity some of the characters displayed. It drags down the film for me. You could easily tweak some things to make certain scenes less dumb (ie. nurse lady runs off for no reason and then comes back to miss each shot and shoot herself in the face. You could tweak it so she runs off to return with backup or she shoots Michael to get his attention, then the other characters attempt to escape and/or fight back, only for their attempts to be futile, as an example.)
If they tweaked some of the dialogue and wrote some of the characters a to bebit smarter, it could’ve been one of the best Halloween sequels. But I’m no screenwriter, what do I know. 🤷🏻♀️
Great review as always, Andy!
Happy Halloween, Andy. I was waiting for this review. Thank you for coming through.
Happy Halloween!
Just came back from the cinema. Every scene with Michael is a blast, with gory, well-executed kills and a performance from Michael himself that really sells him as an unstoppable force hiding in the skin of an old man. Almost every other scene was plagued with terrible dialogue and actors that somehow managed to both over- and underact at the same time. The basic idea, the town being dragged into darkness and murderous vigilante justice as a result of the fear spread by Michael, making his presence somehow spread death even when he's not there, is good, but the execution, except for Michael himself, is subpar. Far from the worst in the series, but not really justifying this being a trilogy.
Thanks for your fun Review Andy. Always a pleasure. 🙂
Thanks!
I kept thinking to myself “why are they explaining everything to me? I’m right here. I can see what is happening.” It’s a good movie with bad dialogue that unfortunately spoils a lot of what should be profound moments. At some point you have to stop holding the audience’s hand.
Praise the Halloween gods! Any day we get an Andy video is a good day 🤘
This was a very good Halloween sequel. It was getting alot of buzz since it was filmed here in Wilmington, NC. Michael Myers walking through Greenfield Lake Park was creepy. Great review as always.
Wasnt maximum overdrive also filmed there?
@@danielroper817 yes it was.
I was not as good as the last film, but I still enjoyed it.
Kylie Richards surprisingly was a highlight as Lindsay Wallace.
The kills were REALLY good in this.
I love they were so merciless and embrace the R rating
I loved this movie and I’m totally heartbroken to see the horrible response everybody is having to it.
This is easily one of the best Halloween films and a great follow up to 2018.
I mean it had kinda bad pacing and a freaking horrible mob mentality side plot that went no where.. plus even more pointless comedy bits. Maybe the best Myers we have seen but the film is very so so
I hated the movie, and I could go on as to why, but if you liked it, that’s fine. Being “heartbroken” over other people opinions is a bit much.
I agree! I had a blast watching this in theater and is personally at the top of my favorite Halloween movies.
@@NeroWalker the mob was a bit cringey, but expected,,, that's what mobs do,,, stupid shit.... Because mobs generally come together over ignorance and that was clearly displayed, the "comedy bits" are far and few between and quickly forgotten when you're actually focusing on the rest of the movie,,, the flashbacks where so good, Tom Jones Jr did an impeccable job of playing loomis along with Colin mahan voicing him, not to mention the clarification that myers doesn't care about anyone, or anything and kills because he can, there's no attachment to Laurie and brings it back to the original story,,, instead of the crappy narrative they spun, especially Rob zombies God awful thing of a movie...
^ I’m with this guy. I’m pretty shocked at how divisive it is.
First: The kills in this are the highlight of the movie. This one puts the bite back in the Shape. I felt the threat of Michael in this like I haven’t had in any of the other movies.
Second: I immediately got Hunter’s Moon on Spotify when I got out of the theater. That song is AMAZING.
Third: I was admiring you statue during the review. I kinda want one now. Great bit at the end when he disappeared! 👻
Great review Andy your reviews always entertain me, I loved Halloween Kills, the kills are gory & inventive, Michael is a scary presence once again.
I was a bit disappointed Laurie took a back seat in this one but I understand why the filmmakers did that as its building towards a show down in Halloween Ends.
The blu ray is getting a extended ending apparently.
Haha. The extended ending is probably him just killing more people.
Loved the movie, the flashback scenes are really damn cool and Michael is very brutal in this movie, and I thought the 2018 one was violent enough, but geez... This is one is quite insane with the kills.
We're seeing a huge revival in the slasher genre if this trilogy was a three course meal Halloween 2018 was the appetizer and Halloween Kills is the main course which means Halloween Ends is going to be the dessert.
Allyson: Do it! DO IT!!!
Michael: I'm trying to!

Yet another great piece of work! I know how much time and effort it must take him to do these but I really wish he could possibly tone down all crazy time consuming stuff and save that for the special reviews and just do some regular horror reviews from the epic 90s like Relic, Screamers, Deep Rising and the forgotten GEM " HARDWARE " from the twisted director that did Colour Of Space!!
This movie was hilarious and a great time to watch in theaters with a fun crowd. Michael Myers straight up has fight scenes and his kills give Jason a run for his money. Kinda wished this was a trilogy and had the ending cut off like a minute sooner because of all that build up, but I'll still see the finale

3:27 - Entitled bigots that are offended by everything. I should be shocked but then again someone did defend that Cuties film on Netflix, so i shouldn't really be surprised.
I was peeved when Laurie was sidelined, but i understood it as her role was more of the victim mentality and kept blaming herself for Michael Myers when she really shouldn't. At least that's what i got from Laurie's role in the film.
I loved the familiar faces of the franchise. Would i have loved to see Tommy's oringal actor return? Yes, but i think i loved the old friends we got to revisit in this film. I honest felt Tommy and Karen leading the charge was a great change of scenery since trapping him didn't work out so well. I loved Tommy's attempts to make up for not helping Laurie in the past. Karen's role was really sweet.

Really because it kinda sucked ass noone wants to see Tommy Doyle take over the movie kinda glad he's dead all they did is mess up the whole story line with flash backs
I'd give this film a 7/10... it was good, but I think the previous film was a bit better. I do like that they bring back characters from the original film. In addition, I like that Myers has evolved more and becomes this unstoppable force of evil that has badly affected one small town. However, I wish they didn't have to dumb down some of the characters just giving him easy kills. I wish the kills were a bit more creative. It's like you said, how many people does it take to beat up one senior citizen.😂I guess we might need to bring in a swat team for the next film, lol.
I knew that was a ghost mask on Andy's shelf. Great video as usual andys.
I was waiting for you to review this movie/sequel.
I feel like the best thing the current Halloween franchise has going for it are the nods to a better movie. I did like the concept of the whole town rallying to take out Michael (it reminds of how "The Nightstalker" Richard Ramirez was caught irl). But since he ends up killing EVERYONE without missing a beat, it carries very little weight. Ultimately, it was worth watching for the interesting kills and throwbacks to Carpenter's films, but that's about it.
Incidentally, this was excellent Drive-In material! I saw this and Candyman as a double feature and had a blast! Highly recommend.
Nice. That sounds like a fun experience.
I really liked this one for whatever reason. Better than the last one. Haven't watched the video yet so I'll find out if you agree. Either way, this one best.
This movie was mostly just fun kills compared to the last one that had more character development. It's definitely entertaining though and is a good enough middle movie to get ready for the final showdown.
I really enjoyed the film, more so than H2018. It has an identity problem with wanting to be a gore fest and a commentary on mob mentality, as well has dialog only the likes of Pleasence can deliver properly. But all in all it had tons more suspense and tension than the previous film and JJC cements himself a solid 1.A as best Shape performance.
Cameron's death was one of Michael's best. It didn't require any gore at all. Just someone getting helplessly destroyed while torturing another person with it.
IN this timeline, this is the third-ranked movie IMO, but it has some good competition in Halloween and Halloween 2018.
If halloween ends sticks the landing i feel it'll make this movie better for more people I hope. I really liked it but i went in knowing it was going to lead into the third film like I was watching a show and this was an episode.
Great review I enjoyed the film although there were some unnecessary scenes but the ending did get me excited for the finale!👍
Ghost's song is so catchy. Also I kept expecting for like. One shot of you where the Myers behind you has their head looking at the camera. 13:21 Oh nevermind there we go
I totally loved this movie. Sure, the plot doesn't exsctly move forward but I also like how raw and real it feels how the panicking Haddonfield residents mostly just react to Michael's trail of corpses. Halloween Ens can not come soon enough!
The back crack lol haha I died
