Awesome video Frederick and it's always great to see you get so excited when talking about a new piece of audio. So here's the million dollar question. If you had to choose which would you say was the absolute best overall for sound quality between 5909, Bathys, and PX8?
The answer is.... I will make a video about it, because they deserve it! 😀 Please be patient, I need to find two days for writing the manuscript, shooting the video, editing and publishing the video here. Right now, I'm super busy with paying jobs (working 21 days in a row).
@immersivesoundtech Hey Frederick no worries man! Take your time and focus on what's important. We love the content but we can wait. Hope you had a blast at that hifi show 👍
Hi, when playing music with Anc on, the sound tone/phase changes if I move my head or walk around. Did you notice any issue like this with your testing? I've tried adjustment to ensure pads are sealed correctly but no problem when anc is off. Thanks.
Frederick, Have you thought about a ranking of the top noise cancelling headphones about the 500 dollar level. Also, did I miss the review of the MD-75’s? Thanks!
What are best sounding BestBluetooth Wireless Headphones 🎧 out of these below ⬇️ thanks? 1)Mark Levinson No. 5909 2)EDIFIER STAX SPIRIT S3 3)FOCAL - Bathy’s Headphones 4)Bowers and Wilkins PX8
I have reached out to Band & Olufsen and asked if they could send me a pair of Beoplay H95 headphones for review, but unfortunately they declined my request due to lack of units for demo purposes right now.
@@immersivesoundtech cool 😎 thanks for following up at least it’s greatly appreciated! Do you think these are the best sounding Bluetooth wireless headphones 🎧?
Hi ! Do you think with just Spotify premium and my IPhone it’s good or it needs a way more better equipment to be good ? And for movies on my Mac it’s nice too ? Thanks !
Thank you for the review! it was very helpful! do you experience a static "white noise" when the ML5909 are turned ON specifically when there is media playing in low volume? I can hear it with my set, and I am unsure If this is to be expected or an issue. It can be heard regardless if ANC is On or OFF. Thanks
Well, when the ANC is enabled, there is a faint static noise present all the time. I believe I mention it in this video or in the video where I compare the 5909 with Bathys and PX8. In Passive Mode, there is an even fainter noise present when stop playing music, but it goes away after two seconds or so. I can hear the faint noise while playing music - at very low sound level. I don’t consider it a problem, so I wonder if the noise is louder in your headphones. Hope this information helps.
@@immersivesoundtech thank you for your answer, it was very helpful indeed. you described exactly what I was experiencing which sadly, I considered that fainted noise to be an issue. So I returned the ML5909 and I have got the Dali iO-12 instead. I could not be happier, they are amazing and faultless. Hopefully you can review them, I am curious about what you would think about them. Thank you again.
How good do these headphones sound in passive mode and how much is it different from the sound when using bluetooth, or when listening over a USB connection? I know you spoke about passive mode but from the video it was not quite clear to me how well they sound that way and I'm interested to know that!
Well, the sound is actually a bit difference in passive mode. Most of all, I miss the low-end boost that I personally fit necessary for most music. Also, sending the signal through the active part of the headphones, you hear how the sound stage benefits from the processing and amplification. I would really only use the 5909 in passive mode when they have run out of battery and I still 'need' to listen to music. Hope this helps. Cheers Frederick
I really want these headphones for their sound but damn i dont like the look lol in the end going with Bang & Olufsen Beoplay H95 in Nordic Ice. They both sound incredible and the looks please me way more
DO NOT BUY.. These headphones have excellent sound and comfort BUT..The headband falls apart within a few months. I have had one return pair already and now the second pair has the same problem, The headband is not stitched as it looks like it is. It is badly GLUED. I don't see much point in sending the second pair back, as this will go on till the warranty runs out. For $1000 this issue with exceptional sound is very shoddy work. I tried to write reviews on sites recommending these, but all were all closed to customer reviews.
Thanks for your reply Robert! Checking the "stitching" it certainly looks like you're right about the headband - the "stitching" seem to be just a design feature. And the thread is kind of thin. So, the cushion is not fixated by stitching. Gluing the cushion doesn't have to be a bad thing - if the glue sticks. I haven't had any problem with my pair, but I guess, I haven't used them as much as you have. Thanks for the consumer information. My suggestion is to keep sending them back until the warranty is over, and then repair them with industry-grade glue. 👍 Please keep us updated how it goes.
Thank you so much for your concern, Stephen! I'm doing well, just got a lot in the making right now with work and redoing our house. Don't worry, I'll be back with more content soon!
Thank you, for your very detailed review. I was undecided between the focal bathys and the Mark Levinson N5909. I am definitely be ordering N5909.

I definitely might get these, I didn’t want to spend more than $1000 for headphones, and I love the burgundy red.
I love the color too and the headphones sit very comfortably on my head. Well worth a listen. 👍
This connected via USB C to a phone would be killer for true hi fi on the go... Thinking of pushing the button...
I almost bought these until I tried the Dali io12...Dali won
Thank you for the informative and genuine review as always maybe in the future I will give ML n5909 a chance hah.

The 5909 are well-worth a listen. 👍
Dear Frederik, this is one of the best review of 5909. I just bought one. What is the best setting for EQ according to your experiences?
I tried the 3k Focal Stellia’s today. That gives top headphones a totally new meaning lol
I know the feeling. Got a pair of focal Stellia that I don’t want to send back to the distributor.
Fantastic-sounding headphones. 🎧❤️

If you mean sound level drop. You may have to use the volume buttons on the headphones itself and the volume buttons on your phone
It doesn't help using the volume control on either the phone or the headphones - the maximum sound level is substantially lower.

Any issues with the ML5909 Headband? I heard it falls apart at the stitching. It may stop me buying. Thankyou
